InStyle Stamps Colour Challenge: Christmas Tree Chloe

Hi All,

It has been such a busy week!  Phew...well, it's time again for another Colour Challenge with the InStyle Stamps blog!  This time, Taylor chose our colour inspiration from a piece of Christmas wrapping paper she found at Olive Paper.  Isn't it yummy???

I went with an olive green and yellow theme from this lovely piece!

I chose this adorable Chloe image from ISS, which will be released by the 16th of this month - you should see all of the mouth-watering images that Virginia is releasing by that date!

I started with a Crushed Curry base.  The DSP I used is called Dashing (retired SU), and it was matted with a Basic Black piece.  On top of that, I added a border of Kiwi Kiss CS and Basic Black CS, both punch with my tree edge punch from EK Success.  I though it made an interesting and cute border!  The sentiment at the bottom is an SU rub-on, and it was punched out on Basic Black CS using my Word Window Punch.  I also punched some Fern Branches out of Crushed Curry and Kiwi Kiss CS with my Martha Stewart punch, and attached them with my 2-Way Glue Pen. 

I printed Chloe onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with rectangle Nesties, as well as a Basic Black mat.  I added some sponging to her panel with Kiwi Kiss ink.  I used my Mat Pack and paper piercer to make holes around that rectangle panel at the top, then made some faux stitching with my White Gel pen.

SOG Digi Day: A Colour Challenge

Hi Again! (It's only been an hour since my last post!)

Today's second challenge is a colour challenge hosted by....ME!  I decided to challenge you to use primary colours!  That means red, yellow, and blue on your card or project.  Should be easy enough, right?  Head over to the SOG SNR Group to play along, and see what mischief we are making!

Here is my card:

My card base is Kraft CS.  Next, I added a Whisper White piece, with a Basic Black mat.  At the top, I added a piece of white satin ribbon, and attached a bow I made with my Bow Easy.  All over the white piece, I added a bunch of 1 1/4" circles punched out of my East Coast Prep DSP pack, because it has a lot of primary colours in it!  A smorgasbord of circles! 

I printed this top secret image (Princess Mae) onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out.  I also added some Stickles (Fruit Punch) to her shoes, and some Golden Wheat Shimmerz to her crown!

SOG Digi Day at SNR - A Sketch

Hi All,

I am so excited that today is the Some Odd Girl Digi Day over at our SNR Group!  Last month, our digi day was really successful, and we are expecting even more traffic this month!

We are having challenges every hour, and you have lots of chances to win some amazing SOG digis!  The first challenge (10 am, EST) is a sketch challenge from Kim!  Here it is:

Looks like fun, doesn't it???  Now, we all decided to showcase the adorable freebie that you can get this month - her name is Tia! You better hurry over and get her before the month is up!

Here's my card:

My card base is Rich Razzleberry CS, followed by some Lovely Flowers DSP, and a Basic Black mat.  For the panel, I used my Top Note die in my Big Shot, and some of the same DSP, with a black mat.  I had to trim the DSP piece so that it would be smaller than the black piece : ) I wrapped some cute Razzleberry Polka Dot ribbon around the bottom of that panel.

I printed Tia onto Neenah Solar White CS, and coloured her with Copics.  I felt like she was just crying out to be coloured as a blond, so I went the opposite way and gave her black hair (like yours truly).  I added some sky and grass as a scene.

It's a pretty simple card, but I think Tia steals the show!  Make sure you join in today's festivities over at our Some Odd Girl SNR Group for today's digi day! Monochromatic Friday

Hi All,

Welcome to another wonderful challenge Friday with The Town Scrapper!  This week, we were challenged to make a monochromatic project - that means all one colour theme!  Usually I find these types of challenges rather difficult, but I jumped in this time.  I did go with a safe colour - brown!

I also participated in this week's Sketch Saturday challenge:

Here is my creation:

My card base is Kraft CS, followed by some Au Chocolat DSP, Basic Black, and Chocolate Chip layers.  I wrapped some Chocolate Chip and black grosgrain ribbons around that base layer, and I added 3 black brads to that.  My vertical panel is also the same DSP and a Basic Black layer.  I punched 2 stars from Chocolate Chip and Kraft CS, and attached them to the base. 

I printed Big Dreams Evan by Victoria Case onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, and cut out the panel with Curved Rectangle Nesties.

Rock On Dude!

Hi All,

I am throwing myself into bunch of challenges again this week!  I am using one of the new releases from Some Odd Girl - Dancing Mae!  This girl is tooo cute, and you won't be able to resist all the characters that Kristy has been coming up with!

The first challenge I have entered is the Totally Gorjuss sketch for this week:

The second challenge I am playing with is Pile It On: to use my favourite things. All my favs on this card are my Copics, my Nestabilities, and my patterned papers!

The third challenge is from Fresh Brewed: fireworks. My fireworks inspiration is all the glitter I used, and I drew some sparks around the scallop circle with my white gel pen.

The final challenge I am using is from Crafty Catz: distressing - I distressed most of the panels on my card.

Here it is:

My card base is Basic Gray CS.  Next, I added a layer of Nouveau Chic DSP, matted with Basic Black and Whisper White, and all 3 layers were distressed.  The vertical panel is the same DSP pack, Basic Black and Whisper White, all distressed.  I cut the circles out using my Nesties, and I distressed the DSP piece and the Basic Black piece.  I added some 2-Way Glue Pen to some of the DSP design on the circle, and sprinkled it with silver glitter.  The scallop circle is Basic Gray, and I added a bunch of little spark designs to each scallop with my White Gel Pen.  I also added some Whisper White Satin ribbon across the bottom with a "V" cut out of each end. 

The sentiment is a white SU rub-on on top of Basic Black CS. 

I printed Mae onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with a white border around.  I added silver glitter to her belt and to the music note on her iPod, and I added some Crystal Effects to her iPod and her earrings.

InStyle Stamps: Sketch Challenge 11

Hi Everyone!

Well, it is the 2nd of the month, which means another fun sketch challenge over at the InStyle Stamps blog!  Our awesome DT Coordinator Taylor has lined up another fun sketch for everyone to play with!  For the entire month of July, all the DT are showcasing holiday images!  That means Hallowe'en, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and even some fall themes!  Nothing like a head start, I say!

Here is the sketch:

Now, I don't usually do this, but I had to flip the sketch to accommodate my image - oooooo, rebel!

Here's mine:

My card base is Really Rust CS, followed by a layer of Chocolate Chip, and Fall Flowers DSP.  The half circle is also Chocolate Chip and DSP, which was cut out with my Coluzzle.  I also added some fall leaves from Close To My Heart, and some fern branches cut out of Chocolate Chip CS using a Martha Stewart punch, and I topped it off with a white button with some Linen Thread.

I printed Jocelyn from ISS onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with Label Seven Nesties.  I also punched out some photo corners with Chocolate Chip CS and DSP, and added it to each corner.

The Town Scrapper: Tent Card Challenge

Hi All,

Thanks for joining me for another fun challenge Friday over at The Town Scrapper blog! This week, we have been challenged to make a Tent Card!  TTS also previewed a Tent Card Tutorial this week done by our fellow Scrapette Maria - you can find it HERE.  It's pretty quick and easy and has a really fun look to it because the image dangles.

Here is mine:

My card base is Close to Cocoa CS, and my DSP is Enchante (retired SU).  The hole is punched out with Label Four Nesties, and I attached a neutral eyelet just above that.  I attached some miscellaneous white roses to the corners, with some dew drops beside them.  I punched out some photo corners with the Chocolate Chip CS and the DSP for all 4 corners. 

I printed Sophie With Daffodil by Victoria Case onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with a thin white border.  I punched out a smaller panel with the Nesties, and sponged some Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery ink inside the stencil.  I attached Sophie to the panel with Dimensionals and suspended her from the eyelet with some Linen Thread.

Style Challenge 4: Cherriez!

Hi All,

Welcome to another wonderful challenge with the Some Odd Girl blog!  This is our 4th Style challenge, and we have been challenged to make a card that is not shaped as a square or rectangle.  Not too hard, right?  All the DT are using fun images that were just released on June 29!  As soon as I saw Cherriez, I knew I wanted them, and I knew I would pair them with my SU Rockbilly DSP because they have cherries on them.

My card base is the green piece of DSP, and I used my large Scallop Circle Sizzix die (from SU) to cut it out.  The next layer is the cherry DSP, with a Basic Black mat, both cut out with circle Nesties. 

The Cherriez from Some Odd Girl were printed twice onto Neenah Solar White CS and coloured with Copics.  I cut one of them with circle Nesties, and cut the other cherries out to layer, and the circle was matted with Basic Black CS.  I added a little paper clip to the side with some Kiwi Kiss ribbon tied to it.  I also cut out some cherries from the DSP, and adhered it to the clip as a litte accessory.

InStyle Stamps: Soccer Man

Hi All,

I decided to make a CAS (Clean & Simple) card using Nathan from InStyle Stamps.  This is the perfect image for any guy card, and especially the soccer fanatics! Ahem, World Cup.

I only used a Whisper White card base with no other layers.  Now THAT is simple!  I took the base, as well as one of the Label 3 Nesties, and used that to emboss a frame, without cutting the paper.  With the Nesty still on the paper, I used that as a stencil to sponge some blue and green inks inside the frame, and I also stamped a misc grass stamp in Always Artichoke ink at the bottom.  I stamped the sentiment (from SU's Well Scripted) in Basic Black ink underneath the frame, and I also scored a vertical line on each side of the frame using my Scor-Pal.  I used my Mat Pack and paper piercer to place some blue brads along the left side next to the sentiment.

I printed Nathan onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, cut him out, and mounted him on with Dimensionals.

InStyle Stamps: June Blog Hop

Hi All,

Thanks so much for stopping by for this June blog hop with InStyle Stamps!  This month's theme was dual action: you could choose somethig patriotic, or something outdoors!  Well, I stuck with the outdoors theme and I used a barbeque image from ISS.  I am your first DT stop, and you should have arrived here from the ISS blog.

I made a cute book using my Bind-It-All, and some recycled cardboard box.  I decorated the front with the Flowers & Friends Simply Scrappin' Kit from SU.

The base is a rectangle of cardboard box, and the large base panel is Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, and DSP, and 2 of those pieces have the corners punched with a Ticket Corner Punch.  On the base, I also added a bunch of the stickers from the kit.  I tied some brown felt ribbon around the base, and added some miscellaneous charms to it using some Linen Thread.  The words were made using some Foil Thickers in black - nice and shiny.

I printed the BBQ onto Neenah Solar White CS twice, and coloured them in with Copics.  I cut one of them out with some Label Nesties, and I cut the main section out of the second one and layered it on top. 

I made this little book for some summer time pictures.  It goes with the card I made HERE.

InStyle Stamps Design Team Call

InStyle Stamps is looking for a new Design Team! If you love papercrafting, working with digital images and high quality rubber stamps, and enjoy sharing your creativity with others, then we are looking for you!

This is an open design team call for anyone in the United States (we currently have an international team as well - a new call will be held for that team later this year) to join our InStyle Stamps team! You must have an actively maintained blog and be willing to share your InStyle Stamps creations at least once a week. This DT term will run from August 1, 2010 through January 31, 2011 -- that is a six month commitment! This call will be open until July 16, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST. At that time, we will email a free InStyle image to all of the finalists, and you will have until July 21, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST to submit a project using that InStyle image to us.From those submissions we will choose the next design team. New members will be notified via email no later than July 23, 2010!

Before submitting your application to join our team, please read through the requirements listed below. If you are not prepared to meet all of these obligations for the full term, please do not apply.

InStyle Stamps Design Team Requirements:
•Design Team duties will last for a period of six months and will include at least one InStyle Stamps related project per week on your blog.
•You will be required to create six (6) projects per month with InStyle Stamps images.
•You will be required to participate in four (4) company-sponsored challenges each month (these include a sketch challenge, a color challenge, an inspiration challenge, and a blog hop).
•You will be required to submit a tutorial or project to the company blog at least once a month - this is a separate project from posts that go on your personal blog; each designer will be assigned a specific date for these.
•As a team member, you will be expected to maintain up to date online galleries (such as Splitcoast Stampers, Papercraft Planet, SNR's Card Universe) that reflect your current work for InStyle Stamps. This helps keep our images visible and increases our exposure.

Some Odd Girl: Sleepy Mae

Hi All,

Today, I am participating in FOUR challenges with my card! I can't believe it!  I decided to use one of the new releases from Some Odd Girl: Sleepy Mae.  I couldn't resist her - she is soooo cute!

The first challenge is a sketch from the Allsorts Challenge blog:

I also played along with the AiFactory Challenge blog to implement some distressing!  On my card, I distressed the main panel, as well as the card base, and I also covered the main panel in distress ink.

Next, I played along with the Drunken Stampers Challenge blog: to use some sparkle, and to colour!  Well, since my favourite thing to do is to colour, I had no problem colouring Mae in with my Copic markers, and my bling is the Martha Stewart glitter and I covered Mae's pants in Sky Blue Shimmerz.

Lastly, I joined in with the Pile It On Challenge blog: to use stickers.  The large heart on my main panel is actually one of those Sticky Cutz stickers (I covered it in glitter).

My card base is Whisper White (distressed with a Distress Tool), followed by a layer of Night of Navy and Close to Cocoa.  The navy piece was punched with an SU edge punch as well.  I cut a bunch of squares out of Whisper White CS with my 1 3/4" Square punch, and embossed them with my Bloom Dots Cuttlebug folder.  I wrapped some White Organdy ribbon around that whole base layer.

For the main panel, I distressed some Whisper White CS using some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Weathered Wood, and matted it with a Night of Navy piece.  Both of those were distressed with my distress tool from SU.  I took the Sticky Cuts sticker from SU, and stuck it to the panel, and covered it with some Martha Stewart glitter.

I printed Mae onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with a thin white border around.  I painted her pj pants with Sky Blue Shimmerz, and covered the heart on her shirt with the same MS glitter.

Showcase Monday: Sisters

Hi All,

Thanks for joining me on this lovely Monday in June!  Every Monday, The Town Scrapper blog has a showcase where all the Scrapettes get to show you projects they made using images that are sold at The Town Scrapper!  Phebe sells Mo Manning, so I chose her image called Stepsisters for my card.

Now, I don't have a stepsister, but I have a real sister, and I thought this image would be perfect for her upcoming birthday on June 30!  I would be the younger one on the left...

My card base is Whisper White.  Next, I added another white piece, which was embossed with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder, and matted with a Basic Gray piece.  I added some zigzag stitching all the way around that layer.  I wanted to keep the base simple, so that the focus would be on the main image.

I stamped the sisters in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured them with Prismacolour Pencils, and cut them out with Label Two Nesties.   I added some ink around the outside to make the white stand out a bit on the white background.  There are also a few small dots of Fruit Punch Stickles on the pink dress - I was always the more girly one. LOL

I think my sister will like this - it will remind her of how annoying I was to her when we were young!

Life is Good

Hi all,

I've been playing with my summer images from InStyle Stamps, and I'm having a blast!  I have made a very summer-y card with the Sand Bucket image. It is so much fun!

All my DSP, photo corners, sentiment & moments tag are from SU's Flowers & Friends Simply Scrappin' Kit.

My card base is So Saffron, followed by the DSP, and a Chocolate Chip mat, with the corners rounded.  I followed that with a Whisper White piece, with only the left corners rounded.  Next is a "memories" tag from the scrappin' kit. 

The sentiment is a bunch of separate stickers, and I mounted them onto 1/2" circles of Chocolate Chip CS, then onto the base with Mini Glue Dots.

I printed the sand bucket onto PTI White CS, coloured it with Copics, and cut it out with rectangle Nesties.  I matted that with a Basic Black recatngle.  I also sponged some Tempting Turquoise ink around the image, and added some blue photo corner stickers.

I like how bright and fun this one is - makes me want a Pina Colada! LOL

Purple Wedding

Hi All,

No challenges today - just an elegant card I made for a girl at work - she needed something, as she was attending a wedding this weekend.  It is an SUO card (Stampin' Up! only).  Except fot the edge punch (shhhhh).

She said they were having a Lilac/Purple theme, so I incorporated that colour with black and white.

My card base is Elegant Eggplant.  The next layer is Basic Black, with a Whisper White mat.  The white was punched with the Fleur de Lis EK Success punch.  I think that one is so striking! 
Next, I took a piece of Whisper White, and stamped it with my Bella Toile background stamp using Versamark, then embossed with black EP.  That was matted with an Almost Amethyst piece.  Around that base layer, I tied some white organdy ribbon, and added a hat pin from the Pretties kit with a bunch of beads and pearls.

For the sentiment, I cut a strip of Whisper White, and an Almost Amethyst mat, and I stamped Congratulations on with Basic Black ink.  I added 3 half-back pearls to that panel as well.

Town Scrapper: Kim's Sketch Challenge

Thanks for joining me today for another Friday Challenge over at The Town Scrapper blog!  This time, Kim challenged us to a fun sketch!  Check it out:

For my version, I made a male card, going along with this month's theme.  I chose to go with the adorable Victoria Case image called Evan's Big Catch - sold by The Town Scrapper!  Isn't he adorable?
Here is mine:

My card base is Whisper White.  All my DSP is from the SU pack called Outlaw, and everything is matted with Basic Black CS.  The circle panel was cut with Nesties, and sponged with Chocolate Chip ink.  My sentiment was printed out onto PTI White CS, cut out with square Nesties, and sponged with Chocolate Chip ink. That was matted onto a larger black square.  I also added several buttons, threaded with Linen Thread.  I added 2 silver brads to the lower right side, as well as a couple of staples.

I printed Evan onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, and cut him out with a white border around. 
I think this would be a great card for a boy, or even a father!

Some Odd Girl Stash Challenge 4

Hi All,

We are playing along this week with the 4th Stash challenge from the SOG Challenge blog: Shimmer!  We are all using the brand spanking new images that were released in the Some Odd Girl store on June 15!  For the challenge, be sure to include some stuff that will add SPARKLE or SHINE!  Not just the usual rhinestones...throw in some glitter, or glimmer mist, or anything that will cause some major shimmer! Head on over to the blog to submit your creation for a chance to win an always amazing prize! (and to check out what the other DT members have cranked out).

Here's my card:

My card base is Whisper White, and I used Bashful Blue ink to sponge clouds all over the base.  I also added some paper piercing to the corners, using an Ornare template.  The panel of DSP is from the DCWV All Dressed Up pack, and it is SPARKLY! I matted that with a Basic Black piece.  I tied some Bashful Blue ribbon in a knot around that base layer, and added some Tempting Turquoise ribbon to that.  I also added some blue pearls to each corner of the panel.

I printed Fairy Fly Away Mae onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her onto the panel. 

I added some Stickles to her bow, I covered her wings in glitter, and I painted her skirt with Shimmerz! She is almost blinding!

OHDBCGA: Graduation Gift Card

Hi All,

We are celebrating another Hump Day giveaway over at the InStyle Stamps blog!  This month's theme is Graduation..as that may have approached for some of you that are in school, or that have kids in school.  Head on over to the ISS  blog to see what the entire DT have done, and to submit your own creation to win an amazing prize!

Here is mine:

I made a gift card holder using an 8" x 8" piece of Rockabilly Specialty DSP from SU.  I found the tutorial on Cambria's blog HERE.  It was pretty easy to fold up, especially using my Scor-Pal.  I just added some black ribbon around it to keep it shut.

What better gift to give a brand new grad than an Apple gift card?!?!  If you want to, you can fit a little note opposite the gift card - I just put a white piece of paper there.

I printed Jessica off onto PTI White CS, coloured her in with Copics, and cut her out with rectangle Nesties.  She pretty much covered up the entire front panel!

InStyle Colour Challenge: Where's the Party?

We are playing along with the colour challenge for this month over on the InStyle Stamps blog.  Once you're done here, head on over there to see what the whole DT have done, and to submit your own creation.  Virginia always has some awesome prizes to be won!  This month's inspiration is a very juicy, colourful fruit...tomatoes!  Taylor chose this picture for everyone:

For those of you that love tomatoes, I bet this picture makes your mouth water!

Here is my card:

My card base is So Saffron.  Next, is a layer of Haiku DSP with a Basic Black mat.  I wrapped some miscellaneous ribbon around that.  For the next panel, I took a Whisper White piece and sponged it with Bashful Blue ink to make the clouds.  I stamped the sentiment "Where's the Party?" with Basic Black ink and a small alphabet set.  I took a green piece from the Haiku DSP pack, and cut it with my Martha Stewart grass edge punch, and layered that onto a black piece. 

I printed Beach Dude onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, cut him out, and mounted him on with Dimensionals.  This guy is a pretty buff dude - I wouldn't mind staring at him on a nice day at the beach.
