SOG Style Challenge 11: Scallops!

Hi all,

Welcome to another fortnight with the Some Odd Girl blog!  Every 2nd Thursday, we have a really fun challenge for you to play along with, and you have a chance to win some amazing digis from the SOG store!

This week, we have been challenged to use scallops on our projects!  Personally, I love this one - I have several scallop punches, and if you do too, this should be easy for you!

For my card, I chose to use the adorable Night Out Mae digi from Some Odd Girl!  She is sooooo fancy, and I wish I was going out with her :-)
My card base is Rose Red CS, followed by a Whisper White piece and a Basic Black mat.  I also cut 3 strips of Raspberry Tart DSP, and matted them with Basic Black CS.  The black pieces were punched with an SU scallop punch, and I added rhinestones to the scallops for a little extra *fancy*.

I printed Mae onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with Label Four Nesties.  I added some sponging on the inside of that stencil, and mounted her on with foam circles.

Make sure you head over to the SOG Blog to enter your own creation with scallops - you have 2 whole weeks!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Live It Up

Hi all,

Most important order of the day: have you SEEN the freebie over at Some Odd Girl yet?  If not, you need to go HERE and download it.  I am loving this month's choice - thanks Kristy!

I decided I had to play with the image, so here we go:

My card base is Baja Breeze CS, followed by a cloudy piece of SU Sweet Slumber DSP and a Basic Black mat.  I added a fun miscellaneous rub-on to that (got it at Michael's).  For the strip across the bottom, it is a red polka dot piece from the same DSP pack, with a black mat, which was punched with an SU scallop edge punch, and I added some yummy pearls to the scallops.  I wrapped some striped Baja Breeze ribbon around that layer.

I printed Star Bright Tia onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with foam circles.  I think she is ADORABLE!!!  You only have until the end of the month to get her for free!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Anything Goes

Hi all,

It's been quite a while since I played along with a Bellarific Friday challenge - oh, how I've missed it! LOL
Things have just been soo busy, but I squeezed one in this time!  Over on the Bloggabella, Emily has issued an "anything goes" challenge, which I love!  Total creativity and freedom.

Here we go:

My card base is Soft Suede CS, and the newspaper clippings is from Rusty Pickle, with a Basic Black and a Whisper White mat.  I wrapped some Soft Suede polka dot ribbon around that base layer.

I chose the ADORABLE Uphouse image, with sentiment - stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Bella's Bestest paper.  It was coloured in with Copics, and I added some shading with my Prismas.  I also added some sponging of Wheat ink around the edges, and matted that piece onto Basic Black and Whisper White.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink onto white CS, and cut the words out, and matted them each with black as well.

Well, that's it for today - hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG Anniversary Week: 1 Digi, 3 Ways

Hi all,

Welcome back Oddies!  It is Anniversary week for Some Odd Girl this week, and there are all kinds of fun challenges happening over on the SOG blog

This is our first, and maybe toughest, challenge of the week :) Don't let that scare you away! It only SOUNDS tough but its really all about what people who love digis love about digis: versatility! We want you to take 1 digi and use it in 3 different ways. You could make 3 projects, using the digi differently on each OR 1 digi in 3 different ways on the same project. What do we mean by "different ways"? Well, the beauty of digis is that you can flip then, make them HUGE, make them tiny, make a background, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination! I know you all have great imaginations so use it!  Check out the SOG blog to see the other creations!

For today's challenge, I chose to use the fun and lovely Unicorn image!

For my first card, I decided to print the Unicorn image onto Kraft CS twice.  I thought it would be neat to print and colour the digi onto CS that isn't white!

I cut the first one out with Curved Rectangle Nesties and added some Basic Grey sponging inside it.  On the second unicorn, I added some white gel pen and coloured the rest with Copics.  I covered the wings in glitter, cut it out, and mounted it on with Dimensionals.
The white layer is embossed with the Finial Press folder, and the base is also Kraft CS.

My second project is a scrapbook page of my CUTE twin nieces!  I love scrapping them.  The cardstock and DSP are all from SU's Confetti Simply Scrappin' Kit - I love those colours.

My sentiment is done with some Making Memories alphabet rub-ons, and the dimensional elements ae from Jolee's (at Michael's).

I printed the Unicorn onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with foam circles.  I covered her wings in glitter, and added some black Sakura pen to her eyes., and I also gave her some extra eyelashes :-)

For my 3rd project, I made another card.  I used the image to make a background.

The sentiment is from SU, and I made a flower with my 5-Petal Flower Punch and some white and Cameo Coral CS.  The pearls are misc from Michael's as well.  The sentiment panel was sponged with Cameo Coral ink.

The base is Sahara Sand CS.  I printed the Unicorn a bunch of times onto PTI White CS, coloured in the eyes and the hearts, and sponged around the edges with Cameo Coral ink.  I punched the Basic Black mat with the Ticket Corner punch.

Here is a shot of all the projects together:

See its not hard! Just make sure we can see the "different ways" and you'll be in! Just like all our challenges this week your entry is due to be linked up by the end of day January 23 EST. and for all our challenges this week you MUST use a Some Odd Girl digi. Need a new digi for the challenge? Check out what sale might be going on in the shop!
What are you playing for? I know Kristy's got some goodies up her sleeve! First, since its the toughest challenge of the week, she's got not only 3 digis of your choice from Some Odd Girl, but a $10 gift certificate to Oozak.com! C'mon, you know you were going to shop there anyway, best price on Copics hands down! So you can put it towards your next order :)

Sketch Saturday and a Spoiler

Hi all,

Well, I am playing along with another fun layout over on the Sketch Saturday blog - #137.  For some reason, I usually really like the sketches over there!  Here's a glimpse:

Before I show you my card, I need to let something slip - I got a Christmas card from our Fearless Leader Kristy this season, which I loved, but that wasn't the best part! Inside the card, was a little present for me...

Kristy sent me a sample of what one of her images would be like in acrylic!!!  I am sooooo stoked about this - I do like my digital images, but I will always be partial to the physical stamp.  If I can get my mitts on some more of these images, I will be a happy camper!  I think everyone should email Kristy and try to convince her to make a bunch of stamps! LOL

Anyway, here is my card for this week, using my BRAND NEW Love Letter Kaylee stamp!  BTW, if you love this image, you can buy her in digi form HERE.

My card base is Always Artichoke CS, and my DSP pieces are from SU's Manchester pack, with Whisper White mats.  The photo corner is done using a punch with Whisper White and Basic Black CS.  I added some iconz rhinestones to that, as well as 3 rhinestones to the top of the large DSP panel.

Kaylee was stamped onto Neenah Solar White CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Copics.  I also added some shading with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  That layer was matted onto a Basic Black piece and popped up on foam circles.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday 172 & Some Odd Girl Challenge

Hi all,

I wanted to make something for the challenge over on the SOG blog: to make a Valentine's card without using pink or red.  So, I decided to pair it with this week's Mojo Monday sketch 172!  Here's the sketch:

I wanted to use one of the cute images from a past release - Kiss A Prince Tia!  I love all the Tinies, and this image is no exception!

My card base is Bashful Blue CS, followed by a piece of Delicate Dots DSP with a Basic Black mat.  The DSP piece was sponged with some Basic Grey ink.  I also used a couple of Basic Grey CS strips and the yellow square is from the same DSP pack.  I added 3 black brads to the yellow square.  The sentiment is from an SU rub-on pack called Chit Chat.
I cut a Whisper White circle out with Nesties, and added some Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery sponging.  I also stamped some grass with a misc Michael's stamp across the bottom, and added a Basic Black circle mat.

I printed Tia onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out and mounted her on with Dimensionals.  Isn't she totally adorable?  I wonder what that frog's gonna look like after he changes...
Also, if you haven't downloaded this month's freebie yet, you should definitely get on that!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!
