CC206 & SC216 on SplitCoast

Hi All,

Well, it has been quite some time since I have done any SCS Challenges! I decided to combine the colour and sketch challenges for this week. I have to say, I like the turn out, although it feels like something is missing...

I used CC206 (More Mustard, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss), and SC216.

I used my Classic and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, and cut them into quarters (I used 2 quarters for the top of the card). The regular circle is Very Vanilla CS (sponged with Mustard ink), and the scallop is More Mustard Prints DSP.

Then, there is a strip of the Rose Red CS, followed by a small strip of Very Vanilla (which were paper pierced with my Crafter's Toolkit and Mat Pack), and then a strip of Kiwi Kiss, which was punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch.

I used the double-sided Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin ribbon. The main panel was done with my new Label Nestabilities in Vanilla and Mustard.

I stamped the cupcake tower from Crazy for Cupcakes in black Staz-On ink and coloured with a Blender Pen and my ink pad lids.

Does anyone else feel like I should have stamped a sentiment somewhere? Oh well...

Thanks for stopping by!

Woops - Old Xmas Magnolia Card

Hi All,

You'll have to excuse me for posting this card about 2 months late. I just dug this up - I made it a while back with one of my Magnolia stamps and some cute DSP that I got from Two Peas in A Bucket. I forget what it was called, but they have some really great ones! This paper has a fantastic texture element to it. There are some parts that are indented and shiny (like the silver ornaments), and some parts that are heat embossed with black, so they stick out.
The Tilda and the fence stamp are both from Magnolia and I have coloured them with my Copic markers.
I have placed Dew Drops in each corner, which I purchased from Scrappin' Great Deals, and they are attached with Mini Glue Dots from Stampin' Up!
The rope was in the Holiday Mini catty by SU this year. The white strip above the fence was punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch (don't look too closely, or you'll notice that I have mounted it crooked {*blush*} ).
Hopefully I will have something newer for you this weekend. Thanks for stopping by!
P.S. I will be making my way out to Santa Barbara on Monday for a short vacation, so I will be a ghost lady all next week. Wish me luck!

Sympathy Card

Hi All,

I thought I would use my new Thoughts and Prayers stamp set to make a sympathy card at my stamp camp this month. Those types of cards are unusual for me, but I figured, everyone needs them at some point (unfortunately).
I saw a version of this card HERE from inglishrea on Splitcoast. I changed a couple of things up, but I really liked the colour theme as well.
The main panel was made using the Big Shot with the Top Note die. The top layer is Very Vanilla and the second layer is Pumpkin Pie.
The sentiment is stamped in Always Artichoke, and the flowers/branches are done with markers: Always Artichoke, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise.
Hope you enjoy Thanks for stopping by!

Poker Face

Hi All,

I saw a card using the Game Night stamp set, and I had to re-create it for my stamp camp this month. I thought it was an especially great card for the men in my life.

The colours of cardstock used are Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, and Almost Amethyst.

The only inks I used were Basic Black and Versamark (the knight was embossed in black).

I sponged quite a bit with the black ink as well. The knight was cut out with the Wide Oval Punch.

The original card can be seen HERE. Thanks Carriejoe on SplitCoast! I definitely simplified it a bit!

Sale-A-Bration Birthday Card

Hi All,

I decided to make a card using 2 of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. This is my first time doing a looooong card. It was a 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" piece of Whisper White CS folded in half. This was made to fit into one of SU's Open-ended envelopes (6 3/4" x 3 1/2").
The dark blue panel is a 6 1/4" x 3" piece of Not Quite Navy CS. Then, I mounted a 2 5/8" square piece of White CS and a 2 1/2" square piece of DSP from the Urban Garden series. I added some Iridescent Ice glitter to some of the dots with a 2-Way Glue Pen.
Then, there is a 1 5/8" square piece of CS, with another 1 1/2" square piece of Urban Garden DSP.
On top of that is the emblem stamp from the SAB set Polka Dot Punches. First, I inked it with Kiwi Kiss ink, and then rolled the outside in Not Quite Navy (Rock N' Roll technique). I punched that out with the Scallop Circle Punch, and mounted it with foam squares. I added some glitter to that as well.
On the right side, I took the sentiment from the SB set Congrats, and embossed it in White EP. In the centre of that, I used one of the CUTE flower buttons from the Button Bouquet in Kiwi Kiss, and threaded it with Linen Thread. It was adhered using a Mini Glue Dot. You can never have enough of those things.
Hope you liked it. Thanks for stopping by!

God's Beauty

Hi All,

Here is a card I made using the new Hostess set God's Beauty. I loved the images when I saw them, and I knew that was the one I would choose as soon as I earned a Level 1 set.

There are no layers to this card. It was a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Whisper White CS folded in half, and that is it.

I used an oval template as a mask, so I could sponge Elegant Eggplant ink into the middle, and I stamped the leaves in Kiwi Kiss ink. I wish that my sponging did not turn out so blotchy, so next time, I might use the Stampin Sponges, as opposed to the Sponge Daubers.

I stamped the butterfly on a separate piece of white CS, and I coloured it with Stampin' Write Markers. I then cut it out, and adhered it to the card with foam squares. The antlers were difficult, so I'm not sure if I would do that again.

The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations, stamped in black ink. The ribbon is the Eggplant Grosgrain.

All in all, a pretty simple card, but a nice effect.

Hope you liked it. Thanks for stopping by!

Teacher Anya

Hi All,

I coloured this image a long time ago, and have just now made it into a card. This is Teacher Anya from the Greeting Farm (formerly known as Pink Poison). She is soooo cute!

Since the images are so large and give lots of space, I like to stamp them in black Versafine ink, and emboss them with clear EP.

I coloured her with my Copic Sketch markers. I tried to give her some brown hair with reddish highlights. The polka dots are from a Stampin' Up! jumbo wheel called Lots of Dots, and that was done in Brilliant Blue ink on the same colour CS.

The strips are done with Pumpkin Pie CS, and the criss-cross arches are done in Whisper White CS with a Martha Stewart edge punch.

I used the Photo Corner punch with my Real Red Patterns DSP, and I used the corner rounder punch on them as well. I also rounded Anya's corners, and the corners on the card base.

I used a red flower from the sheet of textured flower die cuts from SU, and the orange felt flower from one of their Accents and Elements tins, with a Brilliant Blue brad.

The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations, stamped in Versamark, and embossed wih black EP.

This one is nice bright - not my usual. Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Verve/SEI card

Last post for today.

I found that I can only take my pictures when there is daylight out, so I just post them all at he same time.

This card is unrelated to Stampin' Up! But I saw a layout like this on Kristina Werner's blog a long time ago. She always has such simple, and effective layouts.

The sentiment is from a set called Beautiful You, made by Verve. The paper is the Poppy collection from SEI. It is punched with my 1 3/4" Square punch.

The ribbon is the Silver Organdy ribbon from SU (retired).

Another Catty CASE

Hi again,

Yet another card from the catalogue that I fell in love with! I didn't have the exact sentiment, but I had to try this with my Pick A Petal set.

Also, the catalogue uses Glorious Green CS, which I don't have, so I used Gable Green instead.

The circles were cut in Gable Green and Taken with Teal with the Coluzzle.

The petals were stamped on Whisper White CS in Rose Red ink, and I used my Sponge Daubers to do the fading.

The faux stitching was done with my Paper Piercer and Mat Pack, and my white gel pen.

I used the sentiment from Bloomin' Beautiful and it was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.

It's a simple one, but I think the flower is effective.

Hope you like it!

Catty CASE

Hi All,

When I saw this card in the catalogue, I LOVED it! I forget which page it's on, but it goes with the Pretty Amazing stamp set.

The card base is a 4 1/2" x 11" piece of Baja Breeze CS folded in half. The min panel is a 3 1/4" x 3 1/2" piece of Very Vanilla, and the Chocolate Chip mat is 1/4" larger.

Firstly, I stamped the flower from Pretty Amazing in Tangerine Tango. Then I put a mask of the flower over, and stamped it again. You can see that there is less strength in the top flower because it is the second time I stamped it (ie. stamp first on a piece of scrap, then stamp on the main panel).

The leaves are stamped in Certainly Celery (with the mask still on the flower). The butterfly was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on Certainly Celery CS and cut out.

The ribbon is the wide double stitched Baja Breeze.
