SOG Challenge: Bright!

Hi all,

Wow, the weather has really been weird these days...I mean, it should be crazy hot right now, and we've had really cloudy days, and lots of rain :-(
I guess things can only go up, right?

Well, since it's Thursday, we've got a new challenge for you over on the Some Odd Girl blog!  We always have some really fun entries from all of you, and I'm sure this week will be no exception!  This time around, we are being challenged to make our project bright - we want you to use some crazy colours - we want to have to put on our sunglasses...get it?

Here's mine:

My base is Real Red CS, my mats are black, and my patterned papers are from a Cricut pack called Celebration.  They had some really bright and fun patterns!  My sentiment is an SU rub-on, and I added some Real Red SU buttons with Linen Thread.

We are still having fun with the images from our latest release, so I chose to use Octee!  I printed her onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out.  She is too cute!!!

Copics Used:
*Skin: YG11, YG13, YG17
*Spots: YG21, YG25
*Tentacles & tongue: YR0000, YR00

We hope you can submit something super bright to the challenge this time - can't wait to see what you come up with!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Ivy KETTO

Hi all,

I hope the week is going well - it's our holiday week here in Canada.  July 1st is Canada Day - just a couple of days before our neighbours to the south!
I will actually be away at a cottage this weekend having some fun in the sun, and I hope you all get to do the same!

I haven't brought out my KETTO stamps from Stamping Bella in a while.  I really do love them all, and I'm terrible for neglecting them!

My card base is Kraft CS, and all my patterned papers are from the Basic Grey pack called Hello Luscious. They are really yummy colours and patterns.  The strip across the middle is white CS, punched with a Martha Stewart loopy edge punch.

I stamped Ivy KETTO onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink, and coloured her with Copics. She's so sweet, isn't she?  I added some shading with my Prismas and OMS, and the black dots were covered with Sakura black glaze pen for some pop.  I cut her out with Classic Circle Nesties, and added some Wheat Versamagic sponging around the outside.
I mounted her onto a black square, and added some White gel pen dots around the circle.

Copics used:
*Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R02
*Hair: E31, E35, E49
*Dress: BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18, R81, R85, R89
*Stockings: YG21, YG11
*Leaves: G21, G24, G28

Everyone have a great weekend! Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Here's the awesomeness:

Here's mine:
My card base is Kraft CS.  My patterned papers are from SEI - the 3 strips are matted with black, and the bottom strip is matted with white (punched with a Martha Stewart lattice edge punch).  I LOVE these papers - they are totally yummy!

I stamped Boots onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured them with Copics, and added some shading with Prismas and OMS.

Card Patterns 120

Hi all,

I'm playing along today with a fun sketch over on the Card Patterns blog, and my clear stamps from Some Odd Girl!  The sketch I'm using is #120, and I REALLY like it!!!  Here's a glimpse:

Here's mine:
My base is Kraft CS followed by a pink piece of Raspberry Tart DSP and a black mat.  The bottom corners were rounded with a corner punch.  At the top, I punched a strip of Kraft CS with my scallop edge punch, and added some pink gingham ribbon to that.
My sentiment is from Stamping Bella, and I added 3 black Martha Stewart pearls underneath that.

I stamped Love Letter Kaylee onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured her in with Copics.  I coloured her shoes with a clear Sakura Glaze pen for some sparkle!
Isn't she adorable???

Keep your eye out in the coming weeks - the ODD team will be showing you some amazing stuff in July! {wink}

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Housework Fairy

Hi all,

I'm playing along with some of my yummy Bella rubbah!  As soon as I saw this cutie, I HAD to have her!!!
Don't we all wish we had a magical fairy godmother to do our housework?  Oh, to dream :-)
By now, you all know how much I love my Mo Manning images...they are divine.  They take a little longer to colour, but they are so much fun!

Here she is:

My card base is Bermuda Bay CS.  Next, I took some Crushed Curry CS, and used one of my jumbo wheels with Crushed Curry ink to make the swirl pattern. That was matted with a black piece, and a white piece, and I wrapped some Bermuda Bay polka dot ribbon around it, and stuck some Martha Stewart pearls to it.

I stamped Housework Fairy by Mo Manning onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her up with Copics, and added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I also used some of my Sakura pens to add some sparkle to her eyes, lips, and some of the dust!

I added some Wheat Versamagic ink around the edges, and I added some glitter randomly around her.  She's so whimsical!

Hope you're loving the Mo's as much as I am!

Copics used:
*Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20
*Hair: E71, E74, E77, E79
*Apron, Feather Duster & Crown: W3, W5, W7, W9
*Top: BG70, BG72, BG78
*Skirt: BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18
*Towel & Wings: E40, E21

Bellarific Friday: Here Comes Summer!

Hi all,
IT'S FRIDAY! Happy "start to the weekend"!
Tomorrow is the start of the Farmer's Market here, and I love going there on Saturdays! I know summer has officially arrived :-)

So, we have some amazing things to show over on the Bloggabella!  This week's Bellarific Friday challenge is based on the theme "here comes summer"!  Perfect timing, and this is gonna inspire everyone to welcome summer in!

Here's mine:

My card base is Rose Red CS, and the pretty flowered paper is from SU's retired Cutie Pie pack matted with black.  Next, is a square of Kraft CS, along with some Martha Stewart pearls on the 4 corners.  I added a strip of So Saffron grosgrain ribbon around that whole base too.

I stamped the completely adorable Patsy Pixie onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured her with Copics, and added some shading with Prismas.  I think it's safe to say that Patsy is my favourite of the pixies.  I cut her out with Square Nesties, and added some sponging with Wheat Versamagic ink.
My pixie's hair was done with a bunch of dots, like Lindabella taught us at our colouring class :-)

Copics used:
*Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20
*Hair: E31, E35, E37, E29

Odd Challenge: Kraft + 2

Hi all,

It has been 2 weeks, and it's time again for another challenge over on the Some Odd Girl blog!  We are really getting a lot of players for each challenge - it's so much fun!  And wait til you see what the whole team has to show you!

This week, our challenge was to use mainly Kraft or white cardstock, and have 2 other colours to support our creation!  Well, I chose Kraft instead of white, and my 2 supporting colours are blue and teal!  Of course, all the Odd girls are using images from our brand new summer release too!

Here it is:

My card base is, of course, Kraft CS.  My patterned paper is from SU's retired Bali Breeze pack, matted with black CS.  The strip across the middle was punched with the Martha Stewart lattice edge punch, and I added some black gingham ribbon across that.
The next panel is Kraft CS, matted with black CS, and I added some Heidi Swapp rub-ons to the corners of the Kraft piece.

I printed Beachy Tia onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with foam dots.  Doesn't she look so relaxed?  I think she would also be perfect if you were making a scrapbook page of a vacation!

Make sure you submit your creation for the challenge over at the SOG blog, cause we wanna see what you've got!  You have 2 weeks to play along!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Paper Piecing!

Hi all,

It's Friday again - best day of the week!  I totally love seeing everyone's cards each and every week on the Stamping Bella blog, and the challenges are so much fun!
Last Friday we were given our mission: to use paper piecing on our project!  Don't get that confused with paper piercing!  This actually whips your project into shape much more quickly because it's space that you don't have to colour - the trick is to add shading to the patterned paper so that it still blends in with the rest of the image!

Here's mine:

It's pretty simple actually...I started with a Kraft base, which I have been doing a lot lately.  Next, I added a white piece, which was sponged around the edges with some Wheat Versamagic ink.
Next, I used my Social Club patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket, along with a Die-Namics die cut to make the funky bracket along the left side, and I matted that with black.

I stamped pregaPEEP onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink, and I also stamped it onto a green piece from the same Cosmo Cricket pack of papers.  I coloured my main image with Copics, and added some shading with Prismas and OMS.  I then cut the ice cream tub out of the green patterned paper, added some shading with Prismas and adhered it on top of the white piece.  I added some more Wheat ink around that panel and mounted it onto a black piece.

Copics used:
*Skin: E00, E11, R02
*Hair: E71, E74
*Dress and trim: Y32, Y35, Y38
*Lid: R02, R05, R27
*Pickles and ice cream: YG11, YG63, YG67
*Jar: BG00, B000

Next week's challenge???  Here Comes Summer!  Make a project with a summer theme using any of the images sold at Stamping Bella, and send it to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thurday night.  Your card will be published on the company blog on Friday, and you will be entered to win some Bella Bucks!  Not to mention, I will get to hop over to the blog and see what you made :-)

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG Sneak Peek: Ice Cream Tia

Hi all,

Well, I'm sad to say it, but it's our final day of sneak peeks on the Some Odd Girl blog :-(
All the amazing images you have been seeing will be released on June 14 in the store - I bet you can't wait!

Today, I'm showing you Ice Cream Tia - have I mentioned how much I love the Tinies???

My card base is Pumpkin Pie CS.  The plaid papers are from the Echo Park pack called Little Girl.  I used black mats, and I added some jumbo black brads to the right side with my paper piercer and mat pack.
For the horizontal strip, I also added a Melon Mambo piece, punched with the SU Eyelet punch, and I added some black gingham ribbon around that.
The sentiment is from a miscellaneous rub-on pack I got from Michael's.

I printed Tia onto PTI White CS and coloured her with Copics.  I cut her out with Label 10 Nesties, and added some Pretty In Pink sponging to the inside.

We hope you had fun with all of our sneakies this week, and mark the date of June 14 on your calendar, so you can get all the new images!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

A Bellarific Sketch For You To Try!

Hi all,

Have you ever been to Jen Del Muro's blog???  Well, she is a stamping diety.
Every month she produces an awesome sketch for everyone called the Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT).  For the month of June, that wonderful sketch is being sponsored by a little company called Stamping Bella!  You can find the link to the post HERE, and here is the sketch:

OK, so I really wanted to use a specific image, so I had to warp the sketch only slightly.  Instead of the main panel being a circle, it's a long weird shape.  But otherwise, I tried to follow the rest of it.  I could see myself using this one again - great for patterned papers!

Here's mine:
My card base is Kraft CS, and all the patterned papers are from the Cosmo Cricket pack called Salt Air, with black CS mats.  The white strip down the middle was punched on both sides with my SU scallop edge punch, but it's a little hard to see because of that larger main panel.
I added a couple of black Martha Stewart pearls to the skinny strip across the bottom too.

I stamped the ADORABLE Posie Pixie onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured her with Copics, and some Prismas and OMS for shading.  I added some black Sakura Glaze pen to her eyes, and the wings were also coloured with the clear Sakura Glaze pen.
I cut that panel out with Label 4 Nesties, and added some Wheat Versamagic ink to the inside of the stencil.

Head over to the i {heart} 2 stamp blog and try your hand at the sketch!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sneakie Peekie: Octee

Hi all,

It is our second day of sneak peeks over on the Some Odd Girl blog!  Kristy has a really fun set of digis being released on June 14, and we are showing you everything this week!

Today, we are showing you the adorable Octee!  As soon as I saw him, I knew we had a winner!  Kristy always creates the cutest critters!

For my card, I used the Diamonds Bazzill textured CS for the base, my patterned papers are from SU's Bali Breeze pack, and the mat is black CS.  I put some turquoise ribbon across the panel, and made some ruffles with it.
The sentiment is an SU rub-on, and I added some black Martha Stewart pearls to the corners.

I cut out circles using my Nesties, and some of the patterned paper and white CS.  I printed Octee out onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, cut him out and mounted him on with foam dots.

Copics used:
*Skin: BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18
*Tongue: R02
*Spots: Y32, Y35, Y38
*Underneath: E40, E43

Don't forget to check back on the SOG blog over the next couple of days for the rest of the adorable sneak peeks!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG Sneak Peek: Beachy Tia

Hi all,

Well, today is our first day of sneakies!  We have a new release upon us (June 14, to be exact), and the images are sooo much fun! It's a summer and beach theme, and the timing is perfect!

Today, on the Some Odd Girl blog, we are showing you Beachy Tia!  I'm pretty sure my favourite line of Kristy's are the Tinies (Tia and Tobie), and this little girl packs a punch!  She has some totally cool shades, and her flotation device and beach bag! Too cute...

Here's my sample:

My card base is Real Red CS.  The next layer is white CS, sponged with Almost Amethyst ink around the egdes, and matted with black CS.
All my patterned papers are from the Cosmo Cricket pack called Salt Air - it is so refreshing!  The fancy border was punched with the Martha Stewart lattice edge punch, and the rectangles were punched with Nesties.
The sentiment was done with one of those caption makers - nice and easy!

I printed Tia onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with foam dots.

Copics used:
*Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R02
*Hair: E13, E17, E19
*Swim Suit: B63, B66, B69
*Sunglasses: R27, W3
*Bag: YG11, YG63, YG67
*Towel and Sandals: Y11, Y13, Y15
*Floatie: R20, R22, R24, R27

Make sure to check back on the SOG blog every day to see the other sneaks!

B.A.B.E. Challenge on the Forumabella!

Hi all,

I'm sure by now that you know Stamping Bella has a forum!!!  Well, our very own Jessabella is running a challenge over there - totally separate from our weekly Bellarific Friday challenges on the Bloggabella!  It's going to be a monthly challenge, and with that amount of time, you really have no excuse for not playing along!

Our first challenge started HERE on May 15, and you have up until June 14 to play along, before the next challenge is announced!  Just post your card on your blog and talk about the forum challenge, then head to the forum and leave us the link to your post so that we can take a look!

The challenge this month is a BABE challenge (to use Bellas And Bring on the Embellishments)!  I'm sure you have some Bellas....right?  And every sistah has some embellishments to use.  I REALLY want to see what you create so puh-lease submit one!

Now, I am chiming in a little late with mine, but hey, we have a month, right???

Here's mine:

My card base is River Rock CS, and all my patterned papers are from SU's Ginger Blossom pack.  My mats are mostly black, and I used white CS for the strip across the middle, and punched it with an SU scallop edge punch.
I also wrapped some striped River Rock ribbon around that strip.  I added a bunch of rhinestones to the photo corners and the scalloped edge.
The sentiment was stamped on white CS with black ink, and punched out with my Word Window Punch.  I layered that onto a black piece, which was punched out with my Modern Label punch.

I stamped Cosmobella onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her with Copics, and added some shading with my Prismas and OMS.  I punched that out with Classic Rectangle Nesties, and added some Antique Linen Distress ink to the inside of the stencil.

Copics used:
*Skin: E000, E00, E11, R02
*Hair: E71, E74, E79
*Jeans: B32, B34, B37, B39
*Shirt/Hairband: R24, R05, R27
*Martini/Flip flops: YR61, YR65, YR68

I hope you're able to join us for this challenge - you have just under 2 weeks left!

Also, don't forget about our paper piecing challenge for Bellarific Friday too!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Boy Cards!!!

Hi all,

Well, a happy happy Friday to you - I'm over the moon with the weather these days.  Summer is upon us!  Here in Toronto, that means everyone is riding their bikes around the city, and all kinds of concerts and festivals are coming!

Today's challenge over on the Bloggabella is to make a masculine card!  Now, these are hard to come by, and much needed, I find, so all the Bella Babes are giving you some ideas!

For my card, I went with a Father's Day theme...it's about that time, isn't it?  Once again, I couldn't stay away from my Mo Manning images, and I'll bet you'll see a few of these because they are perfect!

My card base is Close To Cocoa CS, my patterned papers are from the SU Manchester pack, and all the mats are black CS.  I also added an Old Olive Strip across the middle.  The letters are actually rub-ons, and they are from a Making Memories alphabet.

I stamped The Big Guy Grilling by Mo Manning onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured him up with Copics, and added some shading with my Prismas and OMS.  I also added some Wheat Versamagic ink around the edges and matted with black CS.

Next week's challenge?  Paper Piecing!  That's the kind where you add paper to your image, NOT when you pierce it with your stabbing tool, k?  Make a card with paper piecing on it using any of the Stamping Bella images you have, and send it to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday night, and you will be published on the company blog, and you'll be entered to win some Bella Bucks!

Did you know that we have a separate challenge running on the Forumabella? There will be a challenge there every month, and our first one is running right now - it is a BABE challenge (Bellas And Bring on the Embellishments)!  We want to see what you have, so head to THIS thread to hear the details and leave a link to your blog where you've posted the card! You have a whole separate chance to win some BUCCCCCCKKKKKSSSSS!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG: Masculine Challenge

Hi all,

It's already been 2 weeks since our last challenge, and we have got a whopper for you today - just in time for Father's Day!
Over on the Some Odd Girl blog, we have been challenged to make a masculine card - so any project for a boy is what we want to see!
Kristy has put out some really great guy images, and I chose to work with one of the new photopolymer clear stamps that are in the store! Love those!!!  If you don't have them, you must get them...there are 6 loaded in the store right now, and there might be some more on their way {wink, wink}!

For my masculine card, I actually didn't create a Father's Day card (I know, crazy, right?).

My base is white CS, and I followed that with a layer of Kraft CS, which was embossed with my Mesh Cuttlebug folder and Big Shot.  I went pretty simple for this one - guys don't tend to like a whole lot of extra stuff on their cards, I find.

I stamped Tobie and His Puppy onto Kraft CS using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I tried this technique recently as well - I coloured him up using only the black Prismacolor pencil crayon and OMS.  I like the look of the black and white and neutral, especially for a man.  I matted that onto Black CS, and mounted it with foam dots.

Hopefully you can join us...it's the first challenge of the month, which means you have to use a Some Odd Girl image to qualify for the prize, or the SOG points you can earn.  You have 2 weeks to submit your creation on the SOG blog , and you could win!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!
