Monday Showcase and Au Revoir!

Hi all,

Welcome to another Monday, which means a showcase at The TownScrapper blog!  Alas, this is my last post as a Scrapette - November marks the end of my DT term : (
I got to work with some realy fun and talented ladies, so I will definitely be blog stalking all of them!

So, for my card today, I chose to work with a Greeting Farm image - it is one of their sprouts called Vivi.  She is such a cute little elf - again, I just love those ears!

My card base is Tempting Turquoise CS, and I added a panel of Gable Green on top, embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder, and that was matted with Whisper White.  I also added 3 strips of Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon around that base.
The next panel is a fuzzy piece of DSP from SU's Christmas Cocoa pack, matted with Whisper White.

I stamped Vivi onto Bella's Bestest paper, coloured her in with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with Dimensionals.

I had fun with this one, especially since the colours are a little unusual for the Christmas holidays!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

A New Beginning

Hi all,

I wasn't able to play along with the InStyle Stamps blog hop this month because of some unexpected events, but I still wanted to show one last project for this month. Every month, I usually make a scrapbook page of my nieces because I have been so behind on those. So my project this time uses the digi image called New Year Chloe (from InStyle Stamps), and I made a big silvery page!

My base is a brushed silver CS, which was decorated with lots of white SU rub-ons (snowflakes & branch), and I added the black letters for the partial title (Making Memories rub-ons). I added a white strip at the bottom, which was punched with my Martha Stewart Icicle edge punch, and some silver Making Memories rub-ons for the rest of the title.
The next panel is Whisper White with some silver SU rub-ons along the edge, matted with Basic Black. Then, the piece de resistance, the picture of my niece, was also matted with Basic Black CS.

Chloe was printed onto PTI White CS, coloured with Copics, and cut out with Label 4 Nesties. I added some Liquid Pearls to her hairband, and her New Year's sash is coloured in with Sakura Glaze Pen for sparkle.

Don't forget to stop by the ISS blog and check out all the challenges that are always running!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday with an Elf!

Hi all!

I have been playing with some of the awesome holiday images from the Some Odd Girl store! And Sketch Saturday just posted this week's sketch, and it's a fun one!  Here's a peek:

So, here's my take:

I used Chocolate Chip and Whisper White CS, as well as Ski Slope DSP.  The Whisper White strip was punched with the Martha Stewart Icicle edge punch and I added some Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon on top of that.  My sentiment is an SU rub-on, and punched out with the Word Window punch.  The snowflakes are from the Felt Flurries Accents & Elements collection, and the ovals are cut with Oval Nesties.

I printed Elf Kaylee onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with Dimensionals.  I think she's just the cutest little thing, and make sure you check out her ears - they are extra long and pointy!

Don't forget to stop by the SOG blog to see what challenges are happening right now!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Chickee-poo

Hi all,

I was playing with some of my new images from the InStyle Stamps store, and so I had to bust out this adorable chick image called Chucky.  He is such a funny little furball!

Well, first off, my card base is Crushed Curry CS, next is a Whisper White piece, embossed with a Cuttlebug polka dot folder, and matted with Basic Black CS.  I added another black block on top of that just to make it pop.  The huge white medallion is a Spellbinders die cut, and I added some Liquid Pearls around that.  The cirlce is Sage Shadow CS, cut out with Circle Nesties, and the Basic Black piece is from a Spellbinders die too.

I printed Chucky onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, and cut him out with a small white border.  I stuck him on with Dimensionals, and that's it!

Don't forget to stop by the ISS blog - there are always sketch, colour and inspiration challenges running at any given time!  Try to win some free digis!!!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG Style Challenge 9: Windows

Hi all,

It has been 2 weeks since the last challenge on the Some Odd Girl blog, so that means we're at it again! This week, we were challenged to make a window card!  Well, this was definitely a fun one, and just wait until you see what the whole Odd DT made - the projects are amazing!

Well, since I love the new release at Some Odd Girl so much, I decided to use the brand new Cold Kitty Tia!  She is such a cutie!

I actually went with a very simple layout.  The base is Whisper White, and I cut the window out with my Rectangle Nesties.  I made the frame out of Basic Black CS and my classic and scallop Rectangle Nesties.  I added some dots around the scallops with a white gel pen.  I stamped some SU flowers at the bottom in Pretty In Pink ink, and added a bunch of miscellaneous brads and eyelets to the centres.

I printed Tia onto PTI White CS and coloured her with Copics, and then she was matted with Basic Black CS.  I mounted that panel with Dimensionals for some pop.

Make sure you head over to the SOG blog to see what the whole DT have done, and to make your own window card!  Link it up, and you have a chance to win some fun SOG digi images!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

InStyle Stamps: Thankful Inspiration

Hi all,

It is another inspiration Wednesday over at the InStyle Stamps blog!  This month, the DT were asked to make a gift for someone that you wouldn't usually think of, but still needs to be thanked!  I thought of a school teacher, and decided to make a bookmark!  I think it would be great gift to make a bookmark, and give it to a teacher with a great book!

Here is the inspiration pic:

I took the colours as inspiration from this picture, and obviously, the theme of being thankful!

So, I made my bookmark wth Pretty In Pink CS and scallop Square Nesties.  Next, I added a piece of Whisper White CS.

I printed the digi Leang and Sei onto PTI White CS and coloured them with Copics.  I added some Vanilla Flower Soft around the sled for snow, and my sentiment is a Rub-on from Stampin' Up!  That piece was then matted with Basic Black CS.

Make sure to head over to the ISS blog to check out what the DT have done, and to submit your own creation using the inspiration picture!  You have a chance to win some great ISS digis!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Town Scrapper Monday Showcase

Hi all,

It's Monday again, and that means another showcase at The Town Scrapper blog!  As you know, on Mondays, the Scrapettes get to show you images from any brand that Phebe sells!

Today, I chose to play with a Magnolia image - I love the Tildas! Did you know that Phebe sells Magnolia images???

My card base is Baja Breeze CS, then the DSP is from the SEI collection called Glitzmas - love the metallic ornaments!  That was matted with Basic Black CS.  I also added a couple of the Felt Flurries from an old SU Accents and Elements package.  I cut out a Whisper White rectangle with a Basic Black mat.  At the top of that, I stamped my sentiment from Stamping Bella with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I stamped Tilda onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento ink, coloured her in with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with Dimensionals.  I thought she made a cute Christmas card : )

Some Odd Girl Digi Days!!!

Hey everyone!

Some Odd Girl is having a couple of parties today!  We have our digi day today on our Papercraft Planet group and our SNR Card Universe group!  I deifnitely recommend heading over there and becoming a member.  You can chat with the DT, and participate in some challenges to win yourself some prizes!

My challenge to everyone for today was to make a holiday card!  I HAD to use a new release image because they were so festive!  Here it is:

I decided to use my SU Ski Slope DSP, along with Pressie Mae from the brand new releases this week!  I coloured her up with Copics, after printing her onto PTI White CS, cut her out, and mounted her on with Dimensionals.  I also added some white Fun Flock to her dress and some Atyou Spica Glitter pen to the shiny yellow parts!

The corners were cut with the Ticket Corner punch, and I used the Top Note die for the main panel.  I punched out 3 ornaments using my SU punch, and some shrink plastic.  I then heated them with my heat gun so they became mini charms, and stuck them on!  The sentiment is from Stamping Bella in Chocolate Chip ink.

Fine print:

Townscrapper: 2 Ribbons

Hi all,

It's Friday again! TGIF!  It's time for another Friday challenge over on the Town Scrapper blog!  This week, our challenge is to use 2 or more ribbons on the project!  Now, that should be pretty easy, right?  Well, I went for a boy card, and it's a simple one!

Here it is:

My card base is Kraft CS, followed by a Whisper White piece.  That was embossed with my Mesh Cuttlebug folder, and I wrapped my 2 pieces of black grosgrain ribbon around that piece.

I used the Victoria Case image called Keep the Peace Evan on PTI White CS.  He is coloured with Copics, and that panel was matted with a Basic Black layer.  Look at Evan trying to protect that poor fish from the cat!

I hope you're able to play along - check out the TTS blog, and link up your creation!

Pregnancy Cravings?

Hi all,

I am attending a baby shower today, so I was in the mood to make a card for the mom-to-be!  I know people will usually make a card as a tribue to the child, but I decided to make it about the mom this time, and I knew exactly which image I wanted to use!  I chose an adorable Stamping Bella image called pregaPEEP - I thought it was hilarious, and I had to have it!

Here it is:

My cardstock, my patterned papers, and the sticker strip at the bottom are from the SU Confetti Simply Scrappin' Kit.  I added some straight stitching to the Turquoise piece, and some zig zag stitching to the polka dot piece.  The black ribbon down the centre is SU grosgrain, and I added some sponged Wheat Dew Drop ink around the polka dot piece.

I stamped the peep onto Bella's Bestest paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her with Copics, and added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol/OMS.  I also sponged around this piece with Wheat Dew Drop ink. I matted the image panel with Basic Black CS.

I hope she likes it...did anyone out there have any weird cravings when they were pregnant?  Ice cream and pickles kinda gross me out.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

InStyle November Sketch

Hi all,

Well, we have another sketch challenge for you over on the InStyle Stamps blog!  I posted about it earlier this week, but I decided I had to play along, so here we are!  The DT got some really fun holiday images to work with this month - they are my favourite kind of images!  Christmas is coming...do you hear it?

Here is the sketch from Taylor:

When I see a sketch with panels like this, I always think it will be an awesome opportunity to use some fun patterned papers!  And, in keeping with the holiday trend, I am using the digi image Sandy.  She is a cute little Mrs. Santa!

Here's mine:
My base is Kraft CS, and all the mats are done with Basic Black CS.  I schemed long and hard about all the measurements for the panels on this one!  The DSP is from SU's retired Ski Slope pack, and I added some miscellaneous snowflake brads to the corners.

I printed Sandy onto PTI White CS, and coloured her with Copics.  I added some Baja Breeze sponging around the edges, and some Vanilla Flower Soft at the bottom.  I also added some white Fun Flock to her hat.  AND there is some Sakura Glaze pen on her belt for some shine.

You should definitely make your own creation with this sketch, and you can head over to the ISS post HERE and link it up! You have a chance to win some free digis from InStyle Stamps!

Recipe:

Stamps: Sandy from InStyle Stamps

SOG Stash 9

Hi all,

Well, a fortnight has passed, and that means it's time for a new challenge over on the Some Odd Girl blog!  Last time it was a style challenge, so this time it is a stash challenge!  Now, November is the month where the DT switch teams:  those of us that were on team stash in the first half are now switching to team style, and vice versa.
So, that means I get a break on this challenge, but will be playing along in two weeks for the style challenge.

BUT, your challenge for this week is to use your digi images to make a background!  Just wait until you see what the DT have done!  It's amazing!

Head over to the SOG blog to see the inspiration, and submit your own creation.  You might see some samples done with some newly-released images, and some upcoming images!

Penguin Friends

Hi all,

I am really getting into the winter/holiday card-making these days, especially since a lot of the stamp companies are releasing those types of images now.  They are my favourite!

Today, I'm playing along with a few challenges in blog land, and I am also playing with an upcoming release from Some Odd Girl!  They have a bunch of awesome winter and holiday-themed images coming out on November 9, so mark your calendars!

I am playing along with these challenges:
- A Spoon Full of Sugar #127: Let's get punchy (I used punches for the icicles and the sentiment circles)
- ABC Challenge: G is for Glitter (I used glitter to make snow around the penguins)
- Craft Your Passion #30: Anything Goes
- Sketch Saturday #127 with this sketch:

I always LOVE their sketches!  I am working with an image called Penguin Friends from Some Odd Girl.  It is one of the amazing and fun images being released on November 9!

Here's my card:
The base is Chocolate Chip CS, and the next layer is a blue piece of Ski Slope DSP (sponged with Chocolate Chip ink) and matted with Basic Black and Whisper White CS.  At the top of that, I added a Whisper White strip punched with my Martha Stewart icicle punch.  I added a snowflake brad and 2 blue eyelets to the right side.
The striped piece is the same Ski Slope DSP with a black mat.  To the left of that, I added a bow made with some white organdy ribbon and my Bow Easy (attached with a Mini Glue Dot).
I printed Penguin Friends onto PTI White CS once, punched it out with Square Nesties, and added some Baja Breeze sponging inside the square. I matted that onto a black piece.  I dotted some glue pen all over the blue portion of the square, and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to that.  Underneath that square panel, I added a piece of Baja Breeze and a piece of Chocolate Chip ribbon folded into a loop.
I printed the penguins onto another white piece, coloured them with Copics, cut them out, and mounted them on with Dimensionals. Underneath the penguins, I added some Ivory Flower Soft to imitate some fun snow.

I stamped the sentiment (from SU) onto a white scrap in black ink, and punched it out with my 1 1/4" circle punch.  I added some holly with a red and green marker.  That was matted onto a brown DSP circle punched with my 1 3/8" circle punch.

Don't forget our fortnightly challenges on the SOG blog, and head over to Some Odd Girl, and click on the Freebie tab to download the freebie for November!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Monday Showcase with TTS

Hi all,

I hope everyone had a fun Hallowe'en!  It's the start of a new month, and a new week!  It's Monday again, so that means it's time for another showcase at The Town Scrapper blog!  I always love when I get to play along for a Monday post!  On Mondays, the Scrapettes get to play with images from any brand that Phebe sells!  This week, I chose to play with a Wild Sprout image from The Greeting Farm!  Did you know Phebe sells Greeting Farm images?

Here we go:

I used a really simple layout, but I've always loved black cardstock with white embossing!  It stands out so nicely!  I used white mats for everything, and I used my Martha Stewart grass punch on the main panel.  The sentiment is from an old Close To My Heart set, stamped with Versamark, and sprinkled with white EP, and heat set with my Heat Tool.  I added a couple of cute yellow brads to both sides as well.  My base is Baja Breeze, and the grass is Sage Shadow CS.  The red panel is from SU's old Ski Slope DSP.

I stamped this cute little sprout onto Neenah Solar White CS using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her hair and skin with Copics, and the rest was done with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS/Gamsol.  I cut her out with a thin white border, and mounted her on with Dimensionals.

Make sure you head on over to the TTS blog to see what the other Scrapettes have made!
