Autumn Thank You

Hi all,

As you read this, I am having a blast in Las Vegas!  I decided to take a short trip with my parents, and the main feature of the trip is that we are seeing "O" (Cirque du Soleil)!!!  If any of you happen over to Vegas at any point, this show is  must-see!  It is the most magical thing I have ever seen!

So, on to my card. I decided to make a guy card this time around.  I used the digi image called Jet from InStyle Stamps - but if you prefer rubber, you can get him that way too!

I used Basic Black, Really Rust, and Soft Sky CS.  My DSP is from SU's retired Fall Flowers pack.  I decided to go with fall colours just because of the season - making a summer card is just too sad : (
The sentiment is an SU rub-on, and it was cut out with a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Shapeabilities die, and sponged with Versamagic Wheat ink.

I printed Jet onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, and cut him out with Rectange Nesties.  I added sponging to him with the Wheat ink also, and matted him with Basic Black and Really Rust rectangles.  Behind the panel, I added 3 loops of Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, just for some fun!

Don't forget: we always have a sketch challenge, a colour challenge, and an inspiration challenge running over at the ISS blog!  If you play along, you have a chance to win free ISS digis!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

School Tia

Hi all,

I made a fun card today using one of the newest Tiny releases from Some Odd Girl!  This little school girl is sooo cute!  I also played along with these 3 challenges:

- The ABC Challenge: D is for Distressing
- Allsorts Challenge 71: Plain and Simple
- Card Patterns Sketch 83

Here is my card:
I used mainly Whisper White CS, and the larger oval is Kraft CS - ovals were cut using Nestabilities, of course.  For the strip down the middle, I added an SU border punch on either side, and distressed the middle piece.  The Kraft oval was also distressed.
The bow was made using some white satin ribbon and my Bow Easy, and I attached it with a Mini Glue Dot.

I printed Tia out onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with Dimensionals.

Don't forget about the monochromatic challenge running over on the SOG blog - you still have time to play along!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Town Scrapper Monday Showcase

Hi all,

Well, I had an amazing weekend, because I got to take some colouring classes with Paula and Linda!  My card for today's showcase is a Mo Manning image, which I coloured in Linda's class (she put together our papers and everything!).  I had the best time ever, and I always learn so much from them...you should definitely check out their blogs and take a look at their masterpieces!

Mondays at The Town Scrapper blog mean that the Scrapettes get to show you some projects using stamp companies that Phebe sells.  Did you know that Phebe sells Mo Manning images at The Town Scrapper???  They are so artistic and darling, that I can't help myself!  And they are a blast to colour...which is my favourite thing to do!

I used the image Jill is Two, and I coloured her mostly with Copics, and added some Prismacolour Pencils for some extra shading (a la Linda).  Stitching was added to the image panel, and the border punch is the Lattice punch from Martha Stewart.

Make sure you drop by the TTS blog to see what the whole DT have done!  Also, don't forget about the challenge running - you just need to make a card or project that is NOT a square or rectangle shape!

For all your papercrafting needs, contact Phebe by email at info@townscrapper.com or by phone at 519-882-0623.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Mmmmm, Ice Cream

Hi all,

I have a fun card to show you today for a few challenges.

But first, I just have to remind you of the amazing release that Some Odd Girl had this week!  I don't know about you, but I am in LOVE with the Tinies that Kristy has come up with!  Here is a shot of what was released on Tuesday, and is now in the store:

For my card today, I am playing along with Ice Cream Tia!
Here are the 4 challenges I played along with:

- Fussy and Fancy #20: a Sketch

- AiFactory #49: Anything Goes
- Digital Tuesday #77: All About Girls
- A Spoon Full of Sugar #122: Anything Goes

I only made a couple of small changes to the sketch, but you should be able to see the overall format in my card : )  I decided to leave the sentiment off until I have decided what I will use it for.

I used Whisper White and Basic Black CS, as well as Petals & Paisley DSP from SU.  In the corners of the small panel, I added 2 fleur-de-lis punch outs (from an EK Success punch), and adhered a couple of half back pearls to them.  Across the horizontal strip, I used the EK Success Fleur-de-lis edge punch, and added some Tempting Turquoise ribbon.

I printed Tia out onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out.  I mounted her onto the base using Dimensionals.

Don't forget about the style challenge running on the SOG blog as well - to make a monochromatic project!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

InStyle Stamps Blog Hop

Hi all,

It's time again for a Blog Hop with InStyle Stamps!  This month, our theme is Fall/Autumn!  I decided to make a fun box using Firefly Chloe - she was a brand new release this month!  If you came here from Axa's blog, then you are on the right track!  If not, please head back to the ISS blog to start from the beginning.  Make sure you complete the entire blog hop, then comment on the ISS blog and vote for your favourite DT project - you could win a $25 goodie bag from ISS!

Here is my project:

I started out with a box that I received a gift in recently - I really liked the size of it and the colours, so I had to re-use it!

I printed Chloe onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with Curved Rectangle Nesties.  I sponged some Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango, and Ridinghood Red inks around her.  I added a snippet of Wild Wasabi Striped ribbon to the left side, and a Martha Stewart Gerbera Daisy sticker to the right.

Glue Arts has generously given the DT a few products to try out, and we are all experimenting with them this week!  Personally, I really like the Glue Glider Pro because of the ease of use - I really like the gun format and it really does glide.  It carries a permanent adhesive, which is awesome.
Win a free digi image - two random commenters on DT blogs this week will win a free image from ISS - all you have to do is comment on ISS posts on the DT blogs. You have until Sunday the 26th at 12:00 PM EST to do this.  You can check out our post about Glue Arts week HERE.  Here is the shot of the items I used:

Your next stop on the hop is Barbara - have fun with her!

Don't forget that there is a birthday bash with "Operation Write Home", open until Sunday the 26th at 12:00 PM EST, and the prize is 4 digis.  Check out the post HERE.

I hope you enjoyed the hop, and thanks for stopping by!

TTS Challenge: A Shaped Card

Hi all,

It's Friday, which means another challenge over at The Town Scrapper blog!  Every Friday, some of our DT members play along for some inspiration in the challenge, and if you play along, you have a chance to win a prize!  This week, our challenge was to make a project that is not your traditional square or rectangle shape...

Here's mine:

I chose to do a circle, because that is the shape of my largest die for my Big Shot.  My card base is Certainly Celery CS, which I folded in half, then ran through the Big Shot with my Scallop Circle die from Stampin' Up.  I also added some Lime Ice Stickles to each scallop for some extra interest and bling.

I stamped Lola Loves All Creatures by Victoria Case onto PTI White CS, and coloured her with Copics.  I cut her out with Circle Nesties, and added a Basic Black Circle as the mat.

This card was pretty simple, because the image is large, and I wanted it to stand out.

Don't forget to go to the TTS blog to make your own shaped card, and submit it using their Mr. Linky...you could win the adorable Big Dreams Evan stamp by Victoria Case!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

A Card and Some Housekeeping

Hi all,

Well, there is a lot going on right now with Some Odd Girl
First up:  there is a challenge happening right now to name the new SOG monkee ("Who Is I?")!  This is a lost critter that has no name, and we need your help!  I have used one of the upcoming monkees on my card today, and you can find the details for the contest HERE.  If you win the contest, you will win the entire monkee release, as well as a set of Copics, and a gift certificate!
If you don't win, the monkees will be released on November 2nd for purchase!

Second: Some Odd Girl is teaming up with Operation Write Home at the moment.  This is an organization that gets really needed cards to the troops!  Please check out the SOG post HERE.  If you are going to play along, make sure to read the rules too : )  The deets and links are on the SOG Challenge blog.  If you win this challenge, you will be able to choose 4 free digis from the upcoming Tinies release - this is something you don't want to miss!

Lastly, I have a fun card to share.  Like I said, I am using one of the nameless Monkees, which are soon-to-be-released (November).  I also played along with the Sketch Saturday challenge this week.  Here is the sketch:

I used Porcelain Prints DSP, as well as Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip CS.  Instead of a scallop edge, I used my Martha Stewart Crown edge punch at the top, with some Chocolate grosgrain ribbon.  I added some large Chocolate Chip buttons to the left side with mini Glue dots, and the sentiment is an SU rub-on.  For the middle panel, I used my Oval and Square Nesties for neat layering.

I printed "the monkee" onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured him with Copics, cut him out and mounted him on with Dimensionals.

As always, Some Odd Girl has their own bi-weekly challenge up - right now, it is Stash 7 challenge: to use 3 or more images on your project.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sneak Peek: Double Bloom

Hi all,

Over at the InStyle Stamps blog, we are showcasing upcoming releases all week!  Today, we are showing you a brand new image called Double Bloom!  Initially, I thought it was a cute and whimsy image, but then I decided to make a card with a more elegant look.  Here it is:

My card base is made from some SU Bride DSP (it's a pretty thick paper - almost as thick as cardstock).  On top of that, is a striped layer of the same DSP with a Basic Black mat, and I punched the corners with a Ticket Corner punch.  Across that, I added a thick piece of Apricot grosgrain ribbon, and 2 thin pieces.

I printed the Double Bloom image twice onto PTI White CS, and coloured them with Copics - I cut the base one out with Label 4 Nesties, and cut the blooms out of the second one and mounted it on the base.  I sponged some Apricot Appeal ink inside the Nesty.  I added some purple glitter to the flowers and 2 Martha Stewart pearls to each side.

All the new images are being released this month at InStyle Stamps. Make sure you are stopping by the ISS blog to peek at all the new images Virginia will have!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

InStyle Stamps Inspiration Challenge

Hi all,

Welcome to another Inspiration Challenge Wednesday with the InStyle Stamps blog!  We usually have a picture as our inspiration, but this month, we were challenged to make a project inspired by a children's book!  The book I chose is one of my all-time FAVES, Artemis Fowl!  It is a series of books about a child mastermind/genius.  Here is a shot of the cover of the first book:

So, this kid, Artemis, is a complete computer genius (among MANY other things), so I chose that part as my inspiration.  I chose the digi Maggie to represent this book - even though it is a male character in the book, and a female image, I figure it passes the test anyway.

My card base is Kraft CS, then a layer of Urban Oasis DSP with a Basic Black mat, and I rounded off one of the corners of the DSP.  I also added a strip of gray DSP along the bottom.  I used some new ribbon adhesive from Glue Arts with some black grosgrain ribbon and made a ruffle across the DSP.  I added some black SU buttons to the curve with mini glue dots.

I printed Maggie out onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with Square Nesties, and layered that onto a black square.  I also added some glimmer with a Sakura glaze pen across the computer screen.

Don't forget to stop over on the ISS blog to enter your card inspired by a children's book, and to check out the DT samples!  You have a chance to win 2 free digis if your creation uses an ISS image, or 1 free digi if you use an outside image!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

New release: Mailbox Love

Hi all,

This week we are showcasing all the new images Virginia will be releasing at InStyle Stamps on the ISS Blog!  Today, we are looking at the image called Mailbox Love - it's a really cute one, and I have made mine REALLY big.

Here it is:

My card base is Kiwi Kiss CS, and that is followed by a piece of Sweet Slumber DSP with a Basic Black mat.  The nice clouds are part of the DSP - I love that paper!  I added an SU rub-on to the upper right corner.  For the strip across the middle, it is a Whisper White piece punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch, a Kiwi Kiss piece punched with a Martha Stewart grass punch, and a Basic Black piece punched with an EK Success punch.  I topped that with a brown checkered piece of DSP, and some Burgundy buttons on the left.

I printed the mailbox onto PTI White CS twice, and coloured both in with Copics.  I cut one out with my Label 4 Nesties, then cut out the mailbox part of the second one and mounted it on with Dimensionals.  I added some Bashful Blue sponging to the sky part also.

Make sure you check out the DT samples on the ISS blog, and be sure to stop in there every day this week to see all the new images that are coming out!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Town Scrapper Showcase: Fleurs

Hi all,

Well, it's another exciting Monday over at The Town Scrapper blog!  The DT get to showcase images from any company that Phebe sells at her store!  Well, I had an itch to pull out some Greeting Farm images, and I chose Fleur Anya!

I used Whisper White and Kraft CS.  The DSP I used is Raspberry Tart from SU (retired) - I love those green and pink colours!  I used my Circle Nesties for the circle and sallop circle panels, and I used my Photo Corner punch for the top 2 corners. I tied some Kraft Taffeta ribbon around that base layer.  My sentiment is from SU's Well Scripted set, stamped with Chocolate Chip ink and cut out.

I stamped Anya onto Neenah Solar White CS with Versafine Onyx Black ink, and embossed her with Clear EP.  I coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and attached her to the circle panel with Dimensionals.

Make sure to check out what all the DT have created at the TTS blog!  If you are interested in images from The Greeting Farm, you can contact Phebe by email at info@townscrapper.com or by phone at 519-882-0623!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

InStyle Stamps Sponsors Card Positioning Systems

Hi all,

InStyle Stamps is sponsoring the Card Positioning Systems sketch this week (#184)!  Some of the DT got to play along with the sketch, and here it is:

This is a VERY simple sketch, and I made a VERY simple card to go with it.  I kept it clean and simple so the image could shine, and I added some texture with felt!

Here is mine:

My base is More Mustard CS, and I added some white felt clouds using my Die-Namics cloud die from MFT.  I love the texture this fabric adds to the card, especially since it is so simple.  I also took a piece of Gable Green CS, and punched it with my Martha Stewart grass edge punch.  On top of that, I added a rub-on sentiment from SU.

The image I chose is Lizzie in her digi form, but if you like some succulent red rubbah, she is also sold in that form!  I printed her off onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out.  I mounted her onto the card base with some Dimensionals, and we're done!
You can head to the CPS blog to enter your card to try to win some ISS digis, and to see what thei DT have done as well!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Friday Challenge at TTS: A Recipe

Hi All,

Welcome back to The Town Scrapper after a summer off!  We are back with a new challenge, and the whole DT is playing along!  This week, we were challenged to a recipe project...here are the ingredients:

- 1 stamped image
- 1 colour of cardstock
- 2 patterned papers
- 3 types of embellishment
- 2 ribbons

I chose to work with Magical Sophie, by Victoria Case.  My 1 colour of cardstock is Basic Gray Textured CS (I didn't count the white).  I used a Wild Wasabi Striped ribbon, and added a pink ribbon knot to that.  My 2 patterned papers are from an SU Simply Scrappin' Kit.  My embellishments are the pink glitter that I used on the image (dog collar and hair elastics), the rhinestones in the lower left corner, and the big sparkly swirl (got it on sale at Michael's).

My image was stamped onto PTI White CS, coloured with Copics, and cut out with Label 4 Nesties.  I added some Pretty In Pink sponging inside of that stencil as well.

Make sure to hop on by the TTS blog to submit your creation with this recipe - you have until next Thursday night at 9:00 pm, EST to play along!  There is always a fun prize up for grabs!

If you like this image or want to pick up any other awesome brands from Phebe's store, you can contact Phebe by email at info@townscrapper.com or by phone at 519-882-0623.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Back to School

Hi all,

I am playing along in this week's Bellarific Friday challenge over at Bloggabella!  This week, we were supposed to make something that went with a back-to-school theme.  I only had one Bella image that would fit this theme, and I feel like there are gonna be a lot of other peeps using the same image LOL.

Here it is:

My card base is Bashful Blue, and I added a Whisper White layer embossed with my Argyle Cuttlebug folder, and matted with a Basic Black layer.  I added some 1/4" black circles to the left side, and added some red brads in the middle.  Across the bottom, I added a fun strip of Washington Apple DSP.  The sentiment is from SU.

I stamped Spencer the Bookworm onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured him with Copics and some Prismacolor Pencils.  I cut him out with Rectangle Nesties, and mated that with a black rectangle.  On the side, I added a little clippie with some Red Gingham ribbon.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG Stash 7: At Least 3 Images

Hi all,

Welcome to another stash challenge with the Some Odd Girl blog!  It is our 7th stash challenge, and we challenge you to make a project using at least 3 images on it!  What do you think?  Well, I thought I would take this opportunity to offer another sneak peek of the images coming up on September 21st!  We have a whack of Tiny Tias and Tobies that we are so excited about!

Here is my card:

My card base is Whisper White, then I used a piece of A Walk In The Park DSP, with a Basic Black mat.  I added a strip of Handsome Hunter CS, which was punched with a Martha Stewart grass punch, and I tied a bunch of Linen Thread around the whole base layer.  I stamped the sentiment using a small SU alphabet at the bottom in Basic Black ink.

That cute young man you see is named Fishin Tobie, and I have also used his pals Squirrelee and  Puppy from Some Odd Girl.  The Squirrelee and Puppy are available in the store now, and Fishin Tobie is upcoming : )  Toby has brought his dog along on his fishing trip, and that squirrel is just being nosy!  LOL  The squirrel and dog were printed on PTI White CS, and Tobie was printed onto Neenah Solar White CS - don't ask me why ; )  I coloured them all with Copics, I cut the squirrel and dog out, and I matted Tobie's panel with Real Red CS.
I realize now, that I shouldn't have coloured that fish orange, because it looks like a pet goldfish...woops!  The card has all of a sudden turned into something creepy LOL.

Don't forget to  head over to the SOG blog to submit your creation - imagine all the possibilities of images you can combine!  When you submit a creation, you always have the chance to win some freebies!  Speaking of freebies, if you are limited on the SOG images you own, you can head over and grab this month's FREEBIE to help you along!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

ISS Colour Challenge - Violinist

Hi all,

It is time for another colour challenge over on the InStyle Stamps blog!  This week, Taylor chose a fun picture for us, which she got from a blog called Artsy Mama.  Here is the pic:

Very fall-like, no?  I used a lot of the red and yellow, and threw in some green.  Here is my card:

I used Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black, and So Saffron CS for the base.  I embossed the red layer and the white strip with my Allegro Cuttlebug folder.  I also tied a big bow across the bottom with some white satin ribbon.

I printed the digi Violet out onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out.

Make sure to head over to the ISS blog to see what some of the DT have put together, and to submit your own creation with this colour scheme!  If you use an ISS image, you have a chance to win 2 free digis, and if you use an outside image, you can still win 1 free ISS digi!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

InStyle Stamps Sketch Challenge 13

Hi all,

It is the first Wednesday of the month, and that means another awesome sketch challenge at the InStyle Stamps blog!  The DT had an extra challenge, which was to make the sketch using a T-Slide card.  If you have never made one, there is a tutorial on SCS HERE.  If you are a fan of the Chloe images from ISS, you will die when you see the Chloes that Virginia is releasing this month.  We will also have a killer release week for these images come the week of September 20.  We will have lots of new images to showcase, and they will be released into the store that week!
Here's the sketch:

My base is Basic Black, and all the DSP is from the Basic Grey pack called Scarlett Letter.  It has a lot of nice black, red, and gray papers, and the letters at the top are from the same package.  I love the vintage and distressed look of the papers.  I thought the striped paper went well with a carnival or circus theme.

My image is Clown Chloe, to be released later this month at ISS as a digi image.  I absolutely LOVE this image!  I love the ruffles especially.  I printed her onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out.  I also added some sparkle to her shoes with a black Atyou Spica glitter pen.  I mounted her onto the oval panel (Kraft and white CS cut with Oval Nesties), and that was mounted onto the square panel (Kraft, White, and Basic Black CS, cut with Square Nesties, with 2 strips of DSP on the top).

Here is what it looks like when the slider is pulled - sorry about the picture.  I didn't really make sure I pulled it out straight before I snapped the shot, so it looks a little crooked.  I assure you, it's not : )  The sentiment is an SU rub-on.

You should definitely head over to the ISS blog to check out what the other DT members have done, and to enter your own creation using our sketch!  If you use an ISS image for your project, you have a chance to win 2 free digis, and if you use an outside image, you can still win 1 digi if you are chosen!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!
