Celebrate With a Lulu Cake

Hi all,

I feel like it's been a while since I played with my Lulu images from Stamping Bella - so it's high time I got one out!
I truly do love these images - they are one of the lines that Emily has where I "NEEDED" them all when they came out.

Here it is:

My card base is Kraft CS, and that gorgeous fuzzy patterned paper is from Heidi Grace Designs called Paradise Point/Flourish (it is shimmered and flocked)!  I matted that with black and added some pink Martha Stewart pearls to the corners.  Across that, I tied some black grosgrain ribbon into a knot.
The sentiment is Celebrate from Stamping Bella, and that was stamped onto white CS, and cut out with my SU Curly Label Punch.  I adhered that underneath a Pretty In Pink square matted with a white square.

I stamped Lulu's Birthday Cake onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured it mostly with Copics, and added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I also added some White Liquid Pearls to the centres of the flowers, and I added glitter spots all around the cake.
I cut it out with Classic Square Nesties, and added a Scallop square black mat. I also added some Wheat Versamagic ink sponging inside the stencil, around the cake.

Don't forget about our holiday Bellarific Friday challenge for this week - you still have until Thursday night to submit your card!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday and Alice

Hi all,

I hope everyone has had a great weekend so far - I can't believe Monday has spring up again...back to work tomorrow.
I did get some time to play with my Some Odd Girl images this weekend!  I am using the Sketch Saturday Sketch #183 for my card today.  Here's the sketch:

Here's mine:
I've stuck with a Clean and Simple (CAS) card - I thought the plain white background would be nice with these papers.  I cut the main oval out of Kraft CS using Classic Oval Nesties, and I added some Walnut Stain Distress ink to the inside.  My patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist collection called Out of the Blue, and the circles were done with Classic Circle Nesties.
My sentiment is from Stamping Bella, and was stamped onto Kraft CS and punched out with my Modern Label punch.
I added dots to the oval and the sentiment using my white gel pen.

I printed Alice Mae onto Whisper White CS, coloured her with Copics and cut her out with a thin white border around.  Ain't she cute???

Also, don't forget about our recipe challenge going on at the SOG blog - you still have time to play along!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Anything Goes

Hi all,
Happy Friday!  I am extra happy today because I have the day off work, and I should be taking a small trip to Niagara Falls!  I know it's Black Friday for all our American friends, but I will be staying on the Canadian side of the falls, and I don't plan on doing any shopping.  Hope I get a break on the traffic! {fingers crossed}
Do you all take advantage of the crazy deals?  Or do you hide in your houses until the maddness stops?  I've seen some crazy stampedes on TV in past years.  I wouldn't even take the risk...

Anyway, onto safer topics :-)
It's Bellarific Friday!  This week, we were given a huge break, and the theme was free form!  That means anything goes, as long as you used a Bella image!  I took the opportunity to make another holiday card and to use another of the adorable Uptown Girls images!

Here's mine:

My card base is Old Olive CS, my patterned papers are from the SU pack called Dashing, and I used black mats.  I punched the white mat with my Martha Stewart icicle edge punch for some extra flair, and I added red CTMH rhinestones to a bunch of corners.  Love that red!
Pretty simple layout - these images are quite large, and I don't want to make things too complicated.

I stamped Uptown Girl Eve Under the Mistletoe onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured the whole thing with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS, and I added a bunch of glitter all around her.  Matted that with a black layer, and I'm done!

Next week's challenge??? Christmas/holiday cards!  I guess I got a head start on that one, but I am always up for more!  So make a holiday/Christmas card using any of the images sold at Stamping Bella, and submit it to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday night.  You will be entered to win some Bella Bucks, and your card gets published on the Bloggabella!
Can't wait to see your ideas!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Wee Bundle

Hi all,

Today, I'm here with a card that I made for a work colleague that is about to go on maternity leave - who doesn't love baby cards???

There are some totally adorable baby images at Stamping Bella, and I found one that I haven't inked yet - perfect opportunity, right?

My card base is Kraft CS, my patterned papers are from the Sassafras pack called Wee Bundle, and my mats are all black.  I love how the "lined" patterned paper has coffee stains on it - cute detail.  I added Martha Stewat pearls all around the card as well.

I stamped Babycakes onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured it with Copics, and added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I cut that out with Label 10 Nesties, and added some Wheat Versamagic sponging to the inside.  I actually stamped the image twice so that I could cut out 2 of the layers of the cake and pop them up for some dimension.

Don't forget about our free form/anything goes challenge for Bellarific Friday this week!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Anothah Sketch from Ebrubella!

Hi all,

TGIF! (I think I say that almost every time).  I love Fridays!  They are definitely cause for celebration.  We have another super fun challenge for this week's Bellarific Friday!  We were privileged to get another amazing sketch from Ebrubella - she always comes to our rescue!  Here it is:

I have to say - I LOVE this sketch - I am such a fan of sketches that have a large main panel!  Especially with images so great like the ones Emily sells!

Here's my take:
My card base is Basic Gray CS, and my patterned papers are from the DCWV pack called All Dressed Up - love the glitter!  I also embossed a piece of Very Vanilla CS with the polka dot Cuttlebug folder.  I wrapped some delicious black and vanilla striped grosgrain ribbon around the base and topped it with a knot.

I stamped Uptown Girls Victoria and Juliette's Night Out onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Have I mentioned how much I adore the Uptown Girls images?  They are some of my absolute faves from Bellaland!  I coloured this with Copics, added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS and added some glitter dots around the image.

I gave this card to my girlfriend last weekend for her birthday - she loved it!  She is a glittery type of goddess :-)

Next week's challenge??? Free Form!  These challenges are the BEST - you can let your imagination run wild!  The only rule is that you have to use an image sold at Stamping Bella - otherwise you should see how far your mind can take you! Submit your card to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday night and you will be entered to win some Bella Bucks, and your card will be published on the Bloggabella!

Have a great weekend! Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG Challenge: Cooking Up A Recipe

Hi all,

It's time again for another awesome challenge with the Some Odd Girl blog!  Last time we had an amazing Nouveau challenge, and the entries were stellar!

This week, we have been challenged with a recipe!  Now, I tend to have trouble with these, so this is where you gotta be flexible and have fun!
Here are the required ingredients (besides the image): 2 patterned papers + coloured card base (not white or kraft) + buttons + punch/die cut = your card!  OK, so they were kind to us this time :-)

Here's mine:

My card base is Chocolate Chip CS, my 2 patterned papers are from the Authentique pack called Blissful, and my mats are black and white.  I punched the left-hand panel with my SU scallop edge punch, and tied some Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon around that length-wise.  I used some miscellaneous SU buttons with Linen Thread, and attached them with Mini Glue Dots.

I printed Angel Kaylee onto Whisper White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with a thin white border around.  I mounted her onto a die cut from the Labels 14 Nesties with some Walnut Distress ink, and that completes my card!

I hope you're having fun with the new digis and the new clear stamps!  We think they are the greatest!

Don't forget to play along with our recipe challenge - we would love to see what you come up with!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Margarita

Hi all,

I'm playing around with my new Uptown Girl images from Stamping Bella!  They are too cute - if you don't have 'em, you gotta get 'em!

My card base is Kraft CS, and my patterned papers are from the Authentique pack called Blissful.  I adore these patterns and colours!  All of the mats are black, and I rounded the corners of the middle panel.
At the bottom, the sentiment is an SU rub-on, and I added 2 Martha Stewart pearls to the sides.

I stamped Uptown Girl Madison Has A Margarita onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with Copics.  I added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS, and added some Wheat Versamagic sponging around that.

Don't forget about our sketch challenge for Bellarific Friday this week!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday 180: Deck The Halls

Hi all,
I liked the sketch from Sketch Saturday so much, I had to use it again...this time I made a holiday card using one of the newest digi releases at Some Odd Girl!

Here's a glimpse of the sketch:

And here's my humble version:
My card base is Chocolate Chip CS, and my patterned papers are from SU's Ski Slope pack, with black mats.  I used an SU scallop edge punch for the panel on the left, and I added some rhinestones to the side.  The strip along the bottom is Old Olive CS, and the sentiment is an SU rub-on.  For the top right corner, I added some adorable string ornaments by Jolee's - aren't they cute?

I printed Bright Lights Kaylee onto Whisper White CS, and coloured her with Copics.  I cut her out with Classic Rectangle Nesties, and added some Java Versamagic sponging to the inside of the stencil.  I matted that with a black scallop rectangle.

On another note, in honour of American Thanksgiving, Kristy has released some adorable images, and they are being shown on the SOG blog! Head over and take a look - great images for occasions with gratitude!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Holiday Wishes

Hi all,
Happy Friday to everyone!  Hopefully you've got something totally fabulous planned for this weekend. I'll be out with the girls for a birthday party, and I'm sure I'll be doing some cleaning and stamping, as usual.

So, last week, Em challenged us to make a holiday card for Bellarific Friday - my FAVOURITE type to make, by the way :-)  This challenge was right up my alley!
And, who couldn't use another excuse to add to their Christmas card stash?  It's actually very practical...

Here's my card for this week:

My card base is Pretty in Pink CS, my patterned papers are from the Echo Park line called Everybody Loves Christmas, and my mats are black and white.  The strip on the left side was punched with an EK Success Jumbo Double Scallop edge punch, and I added two adhesive rhinestones from CTMH.  I tied some white organdy ribbon around the base, added  bit of Linen Thread, and added the sentiment (which comes with the image), which was punched out with my SU Modern Label punch.  I also added some mini rhinestones to that little strip.

I stamped the brand new Uptown Girl's Christmas Tree on Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured the whole image in with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS again - no Copics!  I added some Sakura Glaze pen to the garland around the tree, and I stuck a bunch of mini rhinsestones to the tree as decorations.
I cut it out with Label 7 Nesties, and added some Antique Linen Distress ink to the inside of the stencil.

Next week's challenge???  A sketch from Ebrubella!  Choose any image sold at Stamping Bella, and put a project together using the below sketch.  Send it to Emily by Thursday night, and you will be entered to win some Bella Bucks, and your project will be published on the Bloggabella!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday 180: Ginger KETTO

Hi all,
I spotted an adorable image that I had stamped and not coloured yet, and I had to give her the respect of making her into something :-)

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the Ketto images from Stamping Bella?!?  When Emily released them, I went a little crazy!!!

I'm also playing along with the Sketch Saturday challenge for this week: #180.  Here's a glimpse:

Here's my version:
I actually didn't make a square card, so I had to adjust the panels a bit.
My card base is Cameo Coral CS, and the patterned papers are from the SU DSP pack called Ginger Blossom, and the mats are black CS.  The buttons are from SU, with some Linen Thread, and attached with some Mini Glue Dots.
The black strip was cut out with one of the Die-Namics border dies.

I stamped Ginger KETTO on Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her with Copics, and added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I punched her out with Classic Square Nesties and mounted that onto a scallop square in black.

Don't forget about our current Holiday challenge for Bellarific Friday - you still have until Thursday night to submit your holiday card to Emily!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

New Release: Grow

Hi all,
I'm sure you've seen the stellar release at Some Odd Girl from November 1st - there are no words to explain these images.  LOVE them.

Anyhow, us ODDies had a blog hop on October 31st and November 1st leading up to the release, and we each showed one of our projects.  I also showed a second project earlier this week, and today is my final project with the 3rd image!

I made tags/bookmarks with all of them, so here is Grow:

Like I said with the previous tags, I bought the tags at Michael's, and they are by Inkssentials.  I sponged this one with Peeled Paint distres ink around the edges.  The patterned paper is from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist collection called Out of the Blue, and that was matted with black CS.  I cut a couple of clouds out of white felt with my Die-Namics die and glued them to the top.  I stamped the decorative corner and the sentiment (which both come with the image) in black ink, and I darkened them with a Sakura Glaze pen so they would stand out more.

I stamped Grow onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with Copics.  I cut her out with a thin white border around, then adhered her to some black CS and cut her out again with a black border.  I just needed her to stand out a bit more from that busy paper.

Here is a shot of all 3 tags together:

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Add Snow

Hi all,
Welcome to another wonderful Friday in Bellaland!  The weather is getting colder and colder here in Toronto, and I'm not ready for this week's challenge :-(
Last week on the Bloggabella, Em challenged us to add snow to our cards. Can you believe the nerve??? Haha ;-P

Well, adding fake snow is fine, I suppose.  As long as I get some more time without the real stuff, I think I'll be OK.

So here's my submission for the challenge:

My card base is Soft Suede CS, and the patterned papers are from SU's Christmas Cocoa DSP pack, with black CS mats.  I rounded the corners on the middle layer, and the bottom layer was punched with the Martha Stewart snowflake edge punch.

I stamped the new Quinn in her Boots from the Uptown Girls collection on Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I actually didn't use any Copics again - GASP.  I coloured the whole thing with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  Wanna know something important I learned from Paulabella?  When you are going to colour something with red pencil crayon, leave that part until THE END.  Solid advice!
I sponged around the outside with Wheat Versamagic ink, and I added some fun glitter dots all around her.  For my snow, I stuck some fun Flower Soft (Ivory colour) under her feet.  Love the texture!
The sentiment comes with the image - that was stamped with black ink onto white CS, then matted with black.

Next week's challenge??? Holiday wishes!  We need to see some Christmas and holiday cards desperately!  Make a holiday card using any of the images sold at Stamping Bella and submit to Emily (Emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday night.  You'll be entered to win some Bella Bucks, and your card will be published on Emily's blog!

BTW - us Bella Babes were wondering if you can give us your opinion.  What challenges do you like to see?  What do you like to participate in the most and what are your favourite types of projects to make?  Leave a comment on here, or over on Emily's blog letting her know!  We are gathering valuable information!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG Challenge: Mucha

Hi all,

It's already been two whole Thursdays, so that means it's time for another challenge with Some Odd Girl!  Also, in case you don't already have it saved into your favourites, the SOG blog has moved sites - Kristy's DH has been working on so many things!

We had some AMAZING entries last week for the Black & White image challenge!  This week, Kristy found us a picture for inspiration. It is a piece of art done my Alfonse Mucha - it's so weird because when I was in Prague with my sister in August, we actually went to see a Mucha exhibit.  This artist's style is unmistakable, and you've probably seen tons of his stuff around (or at least knock-offs).  Here's the pic:

Since this style is so Art Nouveau, we thought there was no better time to use the newly-released Nouveau Girls!  All the ODDies are using one of the 3 images that was just released on November 1st for this challenge.

Here's mine:
I mainly took the neutral colours from the picture and I tried to make it a bit more vintage looking.  I used mainly golds and browns.  My base is Chocolate Chip CS, my patterned papers are from the SEI collection called Windsor, and everything is matted with black.  I also distressed the edges of the base piece of patterned paper.
The black strip was punched with my Martha Stewart lattice edge punch, and the white strip was embossed with the Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy folder.
The corners were punched out with my Photo Corner punch, and I added an adhesive rhinestone to each one.

I stamped Believe onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I actually coloured the entire thing with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS - no Copics!  Gasp...
I cut her out with Label 10 Nesties, and added some Antique Linen Distress ink inside the stencil.
I also put tons of little glitter dots all around her.
Isn't she a beauty???  Kristy did such an amazing job with this line, and I'm looking forward to more!

You have 2 weeks to enter this challenge - use the Mucha picture as inspiration, and link your creation up on the SOG blog.  You aren't required to use SOG images, but we LOVE it when you do!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

New Release: Believe

Hi All,

Well, hopefully you got to hop along for the new release with Some Odd Girl!  As you have seen over the past couple of days, Kristy has created these beautiful Nouveau Girls to add to the SOG family, and they are GORGEOUS!  They are photopolymer clear stamps, so this is not a digi release.
When we got these in the mail, we swooned!

Today, I'm showing you Believe.
Once again, I made a tag or bookmark with her.

My snowflake paper is from the Winter Mat Stack by DCWV, and it's glittery and fun!  I also punched the snowflake edge with my Martha Stewart edge punch, and the blue snowflake are from a Jolee's packet of stickers.

I stamped Believe in Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella's Bestest Paper, and coloured her with Copics.  I love all the folds and drapes in her dress - they are a colouring dream!  Although somewhat time-consuming.  But colouring is so relaxing, that you can't go wrong!

Make sure you head over to the SOG blog to see all the ODDies' creations.  You will be so inspired!
The release is out, so head to the store and pick up all 3 - you won't be able to choose!  She also comes with a sentiment and some gorgeous flower accessory stamps:

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!
