SOG Challenge: Black and White Image

Hi all,

It's been 2 weeks since our last challenge, and we are so ready for another!  As always, the challenge is hosted over on the main Some Odd Girl blog, and all the DT are posting their cards on their own blogs as well.
This week, we are all working with images from the latest digi release - I know I've mentioned how brilliant it is, but maybe I can re-iterate it now - IT IS AMAZING.  Head over to the store to check out the images!

So, we are challenging you to make a project where your image is entirely black and white.  The papers and embellies can be any colour, but the image has to be B&W.  I LOVE this challenge.  I think black and white images are so classy, and you only need a very limited number of markers or pencils!

Here's mine:
I have to let you know that I got my sketch and card idea from Ruth's blog HERE - I thought it was pretty neat and had to CASE it!

I started with a regular sized card in Basic Gray, and chopped off a sliver of the front from the right side.  I punched that edge with an EK Success punch.  On the front, I added a piece of white CS, which was embossed with my Cuttlebug Floral Screen folder, and the sentiment is an SU rub-on, punched out with my Modern Label punch.
For the inside, I added a piece of white, which I splattered with my Basic Black marker and my Color Spritzer Tool.  I also added 2 black Martha Stewart pearls to that edge.

I printed the lovely Kimono Kaylee onto Whisper White CS and coloured her with Copics.  I added some gray shading around the outside and to the ground using a graphite pencil and water brush.  I went around her with a glue pen making dots, and covered those in glitter.  I sponged around with Walnut Stain Distress ink, and matted that with a black piece.
To colour Kaylee, I used my cool and warm grays (C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, C9, W3, W5, W7, W9, 100).

You've got 2 weeks to play, so link up your card or project to the SOG blog so we can drool over it!  You aren't required to use an SOG image, but we get so excited when you do!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!
