Sketch Saturday: Dancin' Around

Hi all,

I'm playing along with this week's Sketch Saturday 157, and it's an interesting one!
Here's a glimpse:

I left out the circle because my image was way too big, and it would have been covered.  But I tried to get all the other stuff in :-)

Here's mine:
My card base is some yummy Diamonds Bazzill textured CS.  The patterned papers are both from the Cosmo Cricket pack called Salt Air, and the mat is Kraft CS, which was punched with the Martha Stewart Lattice edge punch.

For the main panel, I used Kraft CS, with a black mat, and I tied some Linen Thread around the top.  I stamped Dancin' Mae from Some Odd Girl onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo ink, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with foam dots.
I added some black Sakura Glaze pen to her iPod for some texture on the music note!

Copics used:
*Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R02
*Hair: E13, E17, E19
*Shirt: R02, R05, R08

Bellarific Friday: Colour Challenge

Hi all,

It's another wonderful Friday in blog land!  For this week's Bellarific Friday challenge on the Bloggabella, we were challenged to use 3 colours: Kraft, navy, and green.  These colours are kinda yummy!  They would definitely work for a guy's card, but I chose to make them girly anyway!

I just realized that I've used a Mo Manning image for the last THREE Bellarific Fridays!  I guess I just love them :-)

My base is Kraft CS, and the next layer is a navy piece of SU patterns DSP with some brown sponging on it.  That was matted with black CS, and the corners were punched with the Ticket Corner punch.  The next panel is a piece of white CS, matted with Handsome Hunter, and I added some paper piercing around the edges.  I added some Mellow Moss grosgrain ribbon around that layer.

I stamped Little Umbrella by Mo Manning onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her with Copics and added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I added some Antique Linen Distress ink around the outside, and matted the panel with black CS.
I totally envy her, and I hope that's me soon...

Next week's challenge??? Masculine cards!  Make a card for a boy or man using any Stamping Bella image, and send it to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday night, and she will publish your card on the company blog on Friday, and you will be entered to win some Bella bucks!

Can't wait to see what you come up with - hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday 156: You Perk Me Up

Hi all,

I saw a really great sketch out there in blog land, and decided I had to use it!  I am playing along with Sketch Saturday 156 sketch, and here is a glimpse:

As soon as I saw it, I thought that I loved the large middle panel, and it would be a great chance to use some patterned papers!

Here's mine:
My base is Kraft CS, which I've been loving lately.  All my patterned papers are from the Cosmo Cricket pack called Social Club, and all the papers are delicious!  Most of the panels are matted with black CS, and I wrapped some red polka dot satin ribbon around the middle strip.
Two of the corners of the base piece were punched with the Tag Corner punch, and I added some black Martha Stewart pearls to those corners.
The sentiment (which comes with the image, BTW) was stamped onto white CS with black ink, and I cut the words out, and mounted them onto Kraft CS.

I stamped Perk Me Up Peeps onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured them up with Copics, and added some shading with pencils.  I paper pieced the cup jacket and the heart with Kraft and Real Red CS.  I punched out the image with Classic Rectangle Nesties, and added some Wheat Versamagic sponging on the inside.  I clipped the corners with my Corner Rounder Punch as well.
I have to tell you: these PEEP images are really quick to colour up - such a pleasure to work with!

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R02
Hair: Brown - E71, E74, E79; Blonde - Y32, Y35, Y38
Jeans: B32, B24, B37, B39
Coffee Cup: BG70, BG72, BG78
Shirts: W3, W5, W7, BV23

Don't forget: you still have time to play along with our Bellarific Friday challenge: to use Kraft, Navy, and Green! Make sure you submit your card to Emily by Thursday night!

That's it for today - everyone enjoy your week!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Paula's Sketch

Hi all,

It's Friday!!!! I love everybody!  I know, super dramatic, right?
We are expecting really beautiful weather this weekend, and I'm stoked! I hope all our readers have the same great forecast!
So, it's time again for another Bellarific Friday challenge on the Bloggabella!  We had an amazing sketch this week from Paulabella, and I had a blast with it!

Well, I got some of my new rubbah from Emily a few days ago, and I had to bring it out.  I am such a huge fan of Mo Manning's images, and I love the fact that Em has them in rubber.  I took one of the newer releases called Veronica, and inked her up along with her sentiment!

My base is a neutral Bazzill CS, and the next layer is some Almost Amethyst patterned paper, with a Basic Black mat.

I stamped my Mo onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her up with Copics, as well as some Prismas for shading.  I added some Bisque ink sponging around the outside, matted it with black CS, and wrapped some black grosgrain ribbon around the whole base layer.
I stamped the sentiment onto white CS in black ink, cut it out, and mounted it on with foam dots.  The sentiment is so adorable, and it goes perfectly with the image :-)

Next week's theme?  A colour challenge!  We are challenging you to use Kraft, navy and green!  It's gonna be yummy!  Submit your card to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) using the colour scheme and any of the Stamping Bella images by Thursday night, and Emily will publish your card on the company blog, and you will be entered to win some Bella Bucks!
Hope to see you there!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG Challenge: Make a scene

Okay, I don't mean that we want you to embarass yourself in the middle of a public area.

It's time for another challenge at the Some Odd Girl blog!  This time, we want you to create a scene with your card - add some scenery in the background, throw in some clouds - throw caution to the wind!

I decided to use some of my cute Little Boy patterned paper from Echo Park...love those colourful buttons!  My base is Kraft CS, and all the mats are Basic Black.  I added some grass using Old Olive CS and my Martha Stewart grass edge punch, and I added a cloud using some white felt and a Die-Namics Die.  The main panel is done with Bermuda Bay CS.

I stamped the cute Tobie and His Puppy (in acrylic!) on Bella's Bestest Paper in Memento Tuxedo ink.  I coloured him up with Copics, cut him out with a white border, and mounted him on with foam dots.

Make sure you stop by the SOG blog to submit your own creation using a scene - you have 2 whole weeks!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Father

Hi all,

Well, I have been commissioned by my work to make some Father's Day cards - when they ask me for cards, I always make something clean & simple (CAS), so that I can make several at a time.  So, I chose to pull out my Father Definition Block from Stamping Bella.  It's classy and simple, and it's very generic, so it can apply to lots of people!

I used a white base.  Then, I took another piece of white and stamped some trees from the SU set Lovely Trees (I think?) in Always Artichoke and Mellow Moss inks.  Then, I added some Bisque ink sponged around the edges, and matted it with black CS.

I took the definition block, and pulled a Linda, by stamping the words onto vellum, then wrapping the strip around the bottom layer, so that you can't see the adhesive :-)

See?  Nice and easy!  This block is perfect for Father's Day, and you can pair it with any "guy" image!

Don't forget about this week's sketch challenge on the Stamping Bella blog!  You still have until Thursday night to email Emily with your card using Paula's sketch!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Fussy & Fancy Bride

Hi all,

We are having a bout of rain here, and I love not having to water my lawn :-) That's just the lazy part of me, I guess.  Ya know what we crafty folk do on rainy days..........STAMP!

I am having a blast with my acrylic stamps from Some Odd Girl!  I saw this fun sketch on the Fussy and Fancy blog, and decided to play along!  Here's a glimpse of the sketch:

Cute, right?

I started with a Diamonds Bazzill CS base - nice and textured.  Then I added a Brushed Gold piece, which was embossed with my SU Finial Press folder, and matted with Basic Black.  The triangle is made with white CS, and I added a gold line all the way around it with my Krylon gold pen, and matted with black again.
I added another strip of Brushed Gold CS, punched with a Die-Namics scallop die.
Next, I added a black piece of SU Groom DSP, punched out with Label 1 Nesties.  The sentiment is from an SU set, stamped in black ink on white CS, and cut out.

I printed Bride Kaylee onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out and mounted her on with foam dots.  I added some glitter to the centers of the flowers, and the mesh thing in her hair.  Doesn't she look pretty in gold???

That's it for today!  Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Kraft!

Hi all,

TGIF - I can't help but be in a good mood today...the weekends are tha BOMB!  I love Bellarific Fridays too...when I wake up, I usually go straight to the computer, and over to the Bloggabella to see what the Bella Babes and tha Sistahood have done with the challenge!  One of my favourite things!

Well, last Friday, we were challenged to use Kraft cardstock!  I have absolutely NO problems with this...I always have Kraft on hand, and I use it regularly!  But which image to use?  I haven't played with my Mo Mannings in a while, so it was the perfect time to bust them out - Mo Manning images are really one of my favourite lines that Emily sells!  For someone that loves to colour, they are a dream!

Here we go:

My base is the Diamonds colour from Bazzill - kinda shimmery.  Next layers are Basic Black with a Kraft mat.  The sentiment actually comes with the image, and it is super cute.  Who doesn't love Dr. Seuss?  I stamped that with black ink onto white CS and cut the words out in blocks.  I mounted some of the words with black mats so they would show up on the white.

I stamped the adorable Bye Bye Girl by Mo Manning onto Kraft CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  If you can believe it, I did not use any Copics on this, I only used 2 (yes, two!) Prismacolor Pencils: the black and the white.  And of course, my blending stumps with OMS.  I just matted that layer with a piece of white CS to pop out against the black.

Next week's challenge?  A sketch from Paulabella!  We loves our sketches!  Just make a card with the layout below, using any image from Stamping Bella, and email it to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday night - once you do, you will be entered to win some Bella Bucks, and your card is published on the company blog for all to see, and ooooh, and ahhh over!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Lulu's Slice O' Cake

Hi all,

I have been having the WORST junk cravings lately.  Starbucks is having this sale here in Toronto...Frappucinos are half off!  They are already my FAVESies, so I have been going there every day because there is a Starbucks beside my work.  I just can't resist.

In the spirit of temptation, I took out my yummy Lulu's Slice O'Cake stamp from the Bella store

My card base is some yummy Diamonds Bazzill textured CS.  The patterned papers are from the Basic Grey pack called Hello Luscious, and the pieces are matted with black.
I also added some Martha Stewart pearls to the corners, and there is a black strip across the middle punched with my Martha Stewart crown edge punch.

I stamped the cake onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The image was coloured with Copics, and I used Prismacolors for the outer shadows.  I cut that out with Wonky Rectangle Nesties, and added some shading with Wheat Versamagic ink.

That's it for today - I am going to recommend that everyone go to Starbucks and have a yummy Frappucino :-)

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: May Flowers

Hi all,

OMG, when can we get some sunshine in the Toronto area???  I am ready for the tank tops, the dresses, and the sandals...hmph.  Well, this week's Bellarific Friday challenge was May Flowers!  We were supposed to use flowers on our cards - the image, the papers...anything, really.  I found the PERFECT image for this...I LOVE it.

This is my only image from the Lori Boyd collection so far, but it is so cute, and so easy to use on any type of card, I will have to get myself some more!  I chose to use Pookie Lollipop because well, she's a flower in a flower pot!

She was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Bella's Bestest Paper, and I coloured her mostly with Copics, and some Prismacolor Pencils for the grass and the outside shading.  I added some Wheat Dew Drop sponging around that rectangle, mounted it onto black CS, and added some stitching around that.

The base is Kraft CS, and the patterned papers are from Basic Grey's Olivia paper pack - the patterns and colours are delicious.  They were mounted with black also, and I added straight and zig zag stitching around those layers.
I took some white organdy ribbon, and made a bow using my Bow Easy, and attached it to the bottom with a Mini Glue dot.

Next week's challenge???  It is to use KRAFT!  Submit your creation using Kraft paper or cardstock to Emily (emily@stampingbells.com) by Thursday night, and she will publish your card on the Bloggabella, and you will be eligible to win some Bella Bucks!  Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Some Odd Girl Challenge: Not your average card!

Hi,

Well, did you all enjoy our sneak peeks last week??? It was so busy in Odd Land!  But the stamps are now officially in the store!!!   Super exciting, huh?

It's the first Thursday of the month, and we are ready to bring you another challenge!  This week, we want you to make a card that is not a regular 4.25" x 5.5", left-folding card.  So, make an easel card, or a card in a fun shape - just go wild!  Head over to the SOG blog, because the whole ODD team has some really fun samples!

Since warmer weather usually means more weddings......

For my card, I made the shape from my Label 10 Nesties!  It is such a pretty shape, and I got the idea for the card from the lovely Yvonne's blog!  I used the largest die from the set, along with some PTI White CS, some Apricot Appeal Prints DSP, and some Certainly Celery with an SU Leaves die.
I added some sponging  on the front panel with some Distress ink and a jumbo dauber, and I stuck 3 Martha Stewart pearls to the top.
The ovals were done with Nesties as well, and the middle panel has Wheat Dew Drop ink sponged on it.  The sentiment is from a Verve set called Wishing You, and was stamped in Basic Grey ink.

I printed the lovely Bride Mae onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out with a thin white border, and mounted her on with foam dots.  I added some Sakura Glaze pen to her pearls for some sparkle.

We are so looking forward to all the submissions, and since it is the first challenge of the month, you are required to use an SOG image, in order to be eligible to win the free digis!  Submit your card on the SOG blog, and you have 2 weeks to enter!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Monstah Birthday

Hi all,

Happy Monday! (OK, that was a little sarcastic,as I have dark bags under my eyes.)

Well, to cheer myself up, I am playing with one of my new images from Stamping Bella, which I LOVE: Monstah Bash!  Just look at those little furballs!  They are really ready to celebrate someone's birthday with their bright red balloon!

I stamped the image two times on Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I cut one of them out with Rectangle Nesties, and sponged some Old Olive ink inside the stencil.  I also spritzed that with an Old Olive marker and my color spritzing tool for a fun splatter effect.
For the second copy of the image, I coloured them with Copics, cut them out, and mounted them on with foam dots for some dimension.  That rectangle was matted with black CS.

The base is Basic Gray CS, and the green patterned paper is from Crate Paper, with a black mat.  I added some black gingham ribbon around that base layer, tied with a knot.  Underneath the image layer, I added a piece of Real Red textured CS, and I added a metal-rimmed tag to the lower corner with the sentiment, and some Distress ink sponged.

You still have time to send Emily your card with flowers for this week's Bellarific Friday on the Bella Blog.  Don't forget!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!
