A Wintery Birthday

Hi all,

I am still playing with some of the awesome winter and holiday images that Kristy has put out at Some Odd Girl!  I saw a few challenges I could get in on, so I threw a little somethin' together!

Firstly, I am entering the Allsorts challenge #83: Anything Goes.

Next, I am playing along with the Creative Card Crew challenge: Birthdays.

And finally, I used the Card Patterns Sketch #96...here:

And I had to use my new Snowy Mae digi, along with the fun Happy Birthday sentiment! Did you know Kristy sells sentiments too?  I especially like this one because there is an outline, so you can colour it!

Here is my card:
The base is Kraft CS, followed by a Basic Black piece, and a Whisper White mat.  On top of that, I added a plaid piece of Manchester DSP from SU, and I wrapped some Soft Suede polka dot ribbon around that layer, and added a staple to each side.

I cut my circles out of Whisper White and Soft Suede CS using my classic and scallop circle Nesties.  I sponged the white circle with some Wheat Dew Drop ink.  I punched some arrows out of white and black CS and added them for some fun interest.

I printed Mae and the sentiment off onto PTI White CS and coloured them with Copics.  I cut Mae out, and attached her with Dimensionals, and I put the sentiment panel in her hand - it looks like she is showcasing it!

Also, don't forget that the SOG blog ALWAYS has a challenge running, and every 2 weeks Kristy gives away SOG points, and free digis!
Also, there is a My Tiny Contest running until January 16 - you won't want to miss it!!!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Gingerbread InStyle

Hi all,

I was playing with some more holiday images from InStyle Stamps, and I decided to make a little treat carrier for all the Kisses I collected!

I started with a simple 8.5" square piece of Soft Suede CS, and I added 2" tabs on either side.  I folded it into a box, and added some Sticky Strip to adhere the edges.  I wrapped a strip of Rockabilly DSP around it - the yummy piece with the shiny cherries on it.

I printed the Gingerbread House image onto PTI White CS, coloured it in with Copics, cut it out, and attached it with Dimensionals.

I stuffed some tissue paper and all my Kisses into the box!

Don't forget to check out all the challenges running on the ISS blog! You have a few chances to win some ISS digis!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday 134: Ollie

Hi all,

I wanted to play along with the Sketch Saturday 134 sketch this week again - I love these sketches!  There was a giant square panel in the centre which really appealed to me!

AND, did you know that the monkee from Some Odd Girl has been named Ollie??? I am using Sad Ollie for this card, cause he's sooo cute!  I morphed him into a get well monkee...

Here is the sketch:

Here is my take:

I left a couple panels out because the card was small, and the image was big, but I got the gist of it.  My card base is Basic Gray CS, and I also used Basic Black CS for all my mats.  The DSP is from SU's Close To Cocoa Prints pack, and I added some black jumbo brads to the side.

I printed Ollie onto Neenah Solar White CS and coloured him with Copics.  I added some Crystal Effects to his tears, and I added some black Sakura pen to his eyes.  I cut him out with my Square Nesties, and mounted it with Basic Black CS.

Make sure you check out the SOG blog for the current BLING challenge, and good luck!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Love is in the Air

Hi all,

We got some really fun images to work with from InStyle Stamps this month, and they included some with a lovey dovey theme!  Valentine's Day isn't until February, but there is no time like the present to prepare!

You can definitely use these images to make some cute gifts for your cutie, but I chose to make a card with the Vanessa digi!

My card base is PTI White, followed by a piece of Bride Specialty DSP and a Real Red mat.  I kind of like the way it turned out with the white paper and the red mat.  At the bottom, I added some glitter Thickers that spell "LOVE".

I printed Vanessa onto PTI White CS and coloured her with Copics.  I cut her out with some Classic Rectangle Nesties, and added some Pretty In Pink sponging inside the stencil.  I cut out a Basic Black mat with Scallop Rectangle Nesties as well, and mounted it on with Dimensionals.

Don't forget to check out the challenges always running on the ISS blog - you have tons of chances to win free digis!

I am showcasing the Mom and Daughter Shopping Day image - just in time for Christmas!

My card base is Kraft CS, then a Basic Black piece and a Whisper White piece, embossed with the Snowflakes Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I added some Wheat Dew Drop sponging around the edges of the white.

I printed the ADIL image onto PTI White CS and coloured it with Copics.  That piece was matted with Basic Black CS, and attached with Dimensionals.

Some Odd Girl: Style 10

Hi all,

Well, 2 weeks have passed and it's time for another style challenge over on the Some Odd Girl blog!  This time, they want us to use 2 or more types of bling!  I LOVE this challenge - sparkle is so much fun!

Since the big holiday is coming, I decided to make a wintery card using the Snowman image!  He is so much fun!

My card base is PTI White CS, and I added 4 corners of Heidi Swapp rhinestones for some bling!  My next layer is a piece of DCWV patterned paper from their glittered Winter pack.  The trees have sparkle all over them.  Yum.

I printed my snowman onto PTI White CS, and coloured him with Copics.  I added some Gunmetal Stickles to his buttons, and I spritzed the whole thing with Angel Wings Glimmer Mist for an overall shimmer.  I also painted some blue Shimmerz onto the snow.

Make sure you check out what all the ODDies brought out for the challenge on the SOG blog and submit your own project with multiple types of bling!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

InStyle Colour Challenge

Hi all,

Today is another colour challenge with the InStyle Stamps blog!  We had some really soft and lovely colours to work with this time around - here is our picture:

So calm, and relaxing, isn't it?

Here is my take:

My base is Elegant Eggplant CS, followed by some Almost Amethyst Prints DSP with a Whisper White mat.  I wrapped some White Organdy ribbon around that layer, and I added a bow to the top, which was made with my Bow Easy.

I printed Heartful Chloe from ISS onto PTI White CS, and coloured her with Copics.  I added some Bisque Color Box chalk ink around the edges.  That piece was matted with Basic Black CS.

Make sure to stop by the ISS blog to contribute your own project with the same colour scheme!  You have a chance to win some ISS digis!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday 132

Hi all,

I am playing along today with the Sketch Saturday 132 sketch!  And in keeping with my favourite season, I had to make another Christmas card!  I used the Santa image from Some Odd Girl, and some fun Dashing DSP from SU.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my version:

I used Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White CS, along with Dashing DSP.  I punched the white strips with my Icicle egde punch by Martha Stewart.  The oval was cut with my Classic Oval Nesties.  The sentiment is an SU rub-on, on top of Basic Black CS, and punched out with the SU ornament punch.

I printed Santa onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, cut him out, and mounted him on with Dimensionals.
Don't forget to head over to the SOG blog and take a look at the current challenge, and other news!

A New Month and A New Sketch!

Hi all,

Well, I suppose we should welcome eachother into a new month!  This year has gone by so quickly, and now we're in December!  That is just crazy.

Since it's the first Wednesday of the month, we are playing along with a new sketch challenge over on the InStyle Stamps blog!  I always LOVE sketches - I do the least amount of thinking, and somehow, the project comes out decent - that is a credit to the talented peeps making the sketches!
Here is the sketch for this month (SC16):

Now, that is good stuff - I always love a large main panel : )

So, here is my creation:

I used a 5 1/4" square base of Soft Suede CS, and the 2 patterned papers in the background are from SU's Christmas Cocoa pack.  At the bottom, I added a strip of Soft Suede polka dot ribbon.  My sentiment is an SU rub-on, on top of Real Red CS, and punched out with the SU ornament punch.

I printed my digi image, Scarf Chick, onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with Rectangle Nesties.  I added some Soft Suede sponging on the inside of that panel, and matted it with a Basic Black piece.

Make sure you head over to the ISS blog to see what th rest of the DT put together, and to submit your own creation with our awesome sketch this month!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!
