Sorry Shanna

Hi all,

This is another card that we made at Paulabella's colouring class when she came to Bellaland a while back!

Paula picked some beautiful papers for this one - nice and soft.  I added the stitching at home, of course.

Sorry Shanna was stamped onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  We coloured her totally with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS - it's so soft and pretty - Paula is a genius!  I sponged around the outside with Wheat Versamagic ink and added some stitching with my Janome Sew Mini machine.

That's all I'm showing today - hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Sketch from Cathabella!

Hi all,

Happy Friday!  As you read this, I am in Europe, I'm sure having the time of my life!  I will be heading to Prague tomorrow and it'll be my first time there.  I'm stoked!

Anywho, let's get to this week's Bellarific Friday challenge!  Last week, we got an amazing sketch from Cathabella and it was super fun to work with!  Here it is:

Here's my take:

My base is Kraft CS, my patterned papers are from SEI (Black Orchid collection, I think), and I matted everything with black CS.  I added Martha Stewart pearls to the corners.  I added a white strip across the middle punched with the Martha Stewart fence edge punch, and a black strip punched with the Martha Stewart lattice edge punch, and I finished that off with some Certainly Celery poly twill ribbon.  My sentiment is from SU (forgot which set though).

I stamped Harriet lulu onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her with Copics and I coloured her hair in with my black Sakura Glaze pen for some shine!  I cut that out with Nesties and added some sponging with Wheat Versamagic ink inside the stencil.

Next week's challenge???  Back to school!  Just make a back-to-school project using any of the images sold at Stamping Bella - submit to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday night, and you will be eligible to win some Bella Bucks and your project will be published on the Bloggabella!  There are plenty of adorable school images, so you should have no trouble!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG Challenge: Paper Piecing

Hi all,

Well, I'm sitting here in Germany, or maybe the Netherlands, enjoying the lovely weather on the other side of the world, and thinking, "I feel like we reallly need a card challenge!".  LOL

As you know, every second Thursday, the Some Odd Girl blog puts up a new challenge, with the chance to win some prizes and display your awesome work!  And we especially love it when you show off your SOG images too!

This week, we are challenging you to use paper piecing on your project - so grab some textured or patterned papers, and get to work!

Here's mine:

My base is Sahara Sand CS, all the patterned papers are from SU (can't remember which pack though - really old one), and all the mats are black.  The strip across the middle has a black piece punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch, and I added some adhesive studs to the top and bottom of one of the panels.  The sentiment is an SU rub-on, punched out with the Word Window punch, and matted on top of a black piece cut out with the Modern Label punch.

I printed Prof Hoot onto Whisper White CS, and coloured him mostly with Copics - but if you look closely, you will see my paper piecing - his fur is brown polka dots!  I also added some black Sakura Glaze pen to his eyes, and some Wheat sponging around the outside.  Is he not the cutest???  He is from our newest digi release, and he is in great company this month!

You have 2 weeks to make a card using paper piecing and link it up on the SOG blog - we'd love to see you over there!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Clara Lulu

Hi all,

Just finishing up with one of the cards we made in Paulabella's colouring class again.  I adore the Lulu stamps at Stamping Bella, so I was so happy to see this card when Paula showed us!

Once again, Paula provided the papers, so I don't know where they're from.  I added the sponging and the stitching at home as well.  I am loving these colours!

Clara Lulu was stamped on Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  We coloured her in completely with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS, and sponged the outside with some brown ink.  She is sooo sweet!!! One of my fave Lulus!

That's all I've got today - hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sk8r Boy

Hi all,

I attended 2 colouring classes a while back when Paulabella and Lindabella were at Bellaland!  I never ever finish the cards in the class because we end up chatting in the class, and they like to be thorough when they're teaching.  So, we all take the instructions home and finish them on our own time!

So this card is one from those classes!

Paula brought us all the papers, so I can't say where they are from - I added the stitching at home.

Sk8r Boy was stamped onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  We coloured the whole thing with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS, and added some Wheat sponging around the outside - isn't he a cutie???

That's it for today - hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday 204

***Please scroll down for my Bellarific Friday post***

Hi all,

I am LOVING the newest digi release from Some Odd Girl! The images are completely adorable, and Kristy has outdone herself!
I decided to combine one of the new images with the Mojo Monday sketch from this week!  Here it is:

Fun, right?

Here's my take:

My base is Kraft CS (I've been using that a LOT lately), my patterned papers are from the Cosmo Cricket pack called Salt Air, and I used black and white mats for everything.  I rounded 2 opposite corners on the base layer with my corner rounder punch, and the corner was done the SU Photo Corner punch.  The Kraft strip was cut on both ends, and I added some black Martha Stewart pearls to each side.

I printed Bookish Tia onto Whisper White CS, coloured her up with Copics, cut her out with a thin white border, and mounted her on with foam dots.

Are you liking the new release too???  Well, how can you not - let's be honest.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Huggabuggs!

Hi all,

TGIF!  Today, as you read this, I will be gearing up for my trip to Europe tomorrow!  I am so excited, and I have to say, I'm already a fan of that continent.  Well, I just love travelling in general.  So, I'm off to Germany tomorrow to visit my one and only sister.  You'll be getting a few scheduled posts here over the next couple of weeks.
Does anyone have any fun trips planned in the near future?  I'd love to hear about them!

Anywho, on to today's exciting topic - Bellarific Friday!  For this week's post, Em challenged us to make a card with Huggabuggs!  Christy Croll is the artist, and she has made some totally cute characters!!! There really is an image for every occasion!

Here's mine:

My card base is Sahara Sand CS, and the next square is Orchid Opulence, embossed with my Cuttlebug dots folder, and a black mat.  I actually added some Rich Razzleberry sponging around the outside of the purple square, and I tied some black grosgrain ribbon around that layer.  The rik rak looking design at the top and bottom is a Martha Stewart rub-on, and my sentiment is made from some adhesive chipboard letters I bought at Michael's.

Fluey Huggabugg was stamped onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her totally in with Prismacolour Pencils and OMS, and cut her out using Label 2 Nesties.  I added some Wheat sponging inside the stencil, and the eyes and tips of the antennae are coloured with my black Sakura Glaze pen.
Isn't she totally friggin cute???  All the Huggabuggs are, actually.

Next week's challenge??? A sketch from Cathabella!  We love sketches!  So, use any of the images sold at Stamping Bella with the layout, and submit it to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday night.  You will be entered to win some Bella Bucks, and your card will be published on the company blog!  We want to see what you've got - it makes Emily oh-so-happy!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sneak Peek: Mo Manning's Big Shoes

Hi all,

Emily is so sneaky - she likes to spring her new releases on everyone without any notice! LOL
Stamping Bella has an AMAZING release coming up, and Em has been giving everyone some sneaks on the Bloggabella the last couple of days.  Have you seen the Uptown Girls yet??? OMG - plan to do some online shopping, k?

I'll make my post quick:

My card used a Kraft base, and the DP is from the Cosmo Cricket Social Club pack.  The white piece was punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch.

This is another amazing image created by Mo Manning that Emily has turned into rubber - Big Shoes!  Isn't she to-die-for???  Look how cute she is playing dress-up!  The sentiment came with her too!  I coloured her with Copics, and added shading with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  The layout is pretty simple because the image is huge!  This card is actually 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" I think.  So, it's a pretty large card to fit this image on.  I love it!

What do you think??? I know you can't resist her, and for that, we are sorry.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Paper Piercing

Hi all,

It's Friday again!  TGIF to everyone who doesn't work weekends! (For those who do, I apologize, and don't mean to gloat. LOL)
So, I'm getting ready for a little trip.  This year, my sister moved to Germany to be with her German boyfriend (I know, so romantic, right?), and I am packing my bags to go and visit her!  I will be spending time in her small town of Warburg, Germany, and we will be taking a short 1- or 2- day trip to Amsterdam (about a 3-hour drive from her), and then we will be spending 4 nights is Prague!  If anyone has any activity recommendations for either Amsterdam (get your head out of the gutter!) or Prague, I'd love to hear them!

So anyway, onto the reason for the post!  It's time for Bellarific Friday on the Bloggabella, and this week's challenge was to add paper piercing to your project.  That means you are allowed to poke the heck out of all your papers. LOL

Here's mine:

My card base is Certainly Celery CS, and the polka dot paper is from SU's Cutie Pie DSP pack, with a black mat.  The strip up the left side is a black bottom, punched with my Martha Stewart edge punch, then a layer of Certainly Celery, then a white layer - I used an Ornare piercing template for the design on that piece.

I stamped Hanging Sign onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it totally with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS - no Copics again!  I must be on a crazy kick.  I love this image because it is so cute and classy, and it comes with 3 sentiments to put inside the sign.
I added some sponging around the edges with Antique Linen Distress ink, and I added some more piercing to the corners with a basic template and my Mat Pack.

Next week's challenge?????  Huggabuggs!  Create a card using any of the Huggabugg images sold at Stamping Bella, and send it to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday night.  Your card will be published on the Bella blog, and you will be entered to win some Bella Bucks!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

SOG Challenge: Complementary Colours

Hi all,

It's been another 2 weeks, and we are giving you another challenge over on the SOG blog!  We always have amazing entries for these challenges, and we especially love when we see you using images from the ODD store

This week, we were challenged to make a card with complementary colours!  That means you have to choose 2 colours that are opposite eachother on the colour wheel, and that should be your main colour scheme.  Here is the wheel for your browsing pleasure:

The colours I chose are the yellow-orange and the blue-violet.  And I have coloured up one of the images from the new release - Cheer Kaylee!  She is super cute, and I love her!

Here is mine:

My card base is Kraft CS, and the patterned papers are from the Echo Park collection called Little Boy - they are papers for boys, but the colours suited me, so I used 'em!  I cut them into a bunch of strips, and I placed them randomly onto the base.  I added a fun sentiment with some fabric Thickers to the side.

I printed Kaylee onto Bella's Bestest Paper and coloured her in with Copics.  I cut her out with Label 18 Nesties, and added some Bashful Blue sponging inside the stencil.

Copics used:
*Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R02
*Hair: E31, E35, E37, E49
*Hair band: B32, B34, B37
*Pom poms and shoes: YR21, YR65, YR68
*Outfit: BV00, BV04, BV08, YR62, YR65, YR68
*Eyes: B00, B02, B05

Make sure you head over to the SOG blog to submit your creation using complementary colours - you have 2 weeks!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Mavis in Her 'Kini

Hi all,

I am playing along with some of my images from Stamping Bella today!  If you haven't seen the Mavis stamps in the store, you must go and check them out!  You will fall in love with that cat, and there are sooo many ways to colour her!

Check out how cute she is...

My card base is Bermuda Bay CS, and the patterned papers are from the Lovely Flowers DSP pack from SU - with black mats.  I also tied some fun Bermuda Bay polka dot ribbon around that base layer.

I stamped Mavis in Her Kini onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her in totally with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS - NO COPICS!  I cut her out with Label 18 Nesties (love that shape!) and added some Wheat Versamagic ink sponging to the inside of the stencil.
And all the black polka dots on her bathing suit were coloured with the black Sakura Glaze Pen for some shine and puffiness.

I strongly recommend that you head to the store and find some Mavis's that suit you!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and it'll be back to work tomorrow :-(

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday: Metal KETTO

Hi all,

Welcome to another Friday with the Bloggabella!  As we speak, I am at a cottage having a ton of fun with family and friends - makes for a great weekend!  But, I didn't forget about Bellarific Friday!

This week, Em challenged us to use metal on our card - this one was definitely a challenge!  Hmmmm, what to use?

Here's mine:

My card base is Sahara Sand CS, and the yummy striped papers are from SEI, with a black mat.  I punched the bottoms with the jumbo scallop punches from EK Success, and the strip across the middle is a Kraft piece, on a black mat, punched with an SU scallop punch.  I added some adhesive rhinestones to those scallops.
That striped paper has gold metallic lines in it - it's totally yummy!
For the square panel, I took a 3" square piece of Whisper White CS, covered it in Versamark ink, sprinkled gold embossing powder all over it, and melted the whole thing - did that twice.  So, it looks like a metallic gold square!  I thought it went well with the stripes, and there's my metal!  I matted that with a black square, then a white one.

I stamped Margarita KETTO onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink (shocker).  I coloured her with Copics, and cut her out to mount on the gold square.  I coloured all her stars in with a gold Krylon pen - so they are metallic too, but the light doesn't really show it.

Next week's challenge??? Paper Piercing!  This should be easy, so I want to see everyone playing along!  Don't get it confused with paper piecing - we want pieRcing with an "r".  Submit your card using any of the stamps sold at Stamping Bella to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday night - you will be entered to win some Bella Bucks, and your card will be published on the company blog!

Have a great weekend!  Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Hi everyone!

It's the start of a new DT term over at Some Odd Girl!  Today is Day 2 of our introductions, and it's my turn, along with Corry and Amy!  I hope you had a chance to see the intros from yesterday, but if not, jump over to the SOG blog and check them out!

Today, I am showing the studly Bookish Tobie - here he is:

My card base is Kraft CS, and my patterned papers are from the Echo Park series called Little Boy (perfect, non?).  I had black mats under everything, and the Kraft piece at the top along with the black strip across the middle are punched with my Martha Stewart crown edge punch.  I added some red gingham ribbon to the top, and the white squiggles and the alphabet line are SU rub-ons (same with the sentiment at the bottom).

I printed Tobie onto SU White CS, coloured him with Copics, and punched him out with Label 4 Nesties.  I added some shading and grass with my Prismas and OMS, and I added some Bashful Blue ink inside the stencil.

Copics used:
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, YR00
Hair: E71, E74, E77, E79, E49
Sweater vest & 1 book: BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18
