Another Commissioned Card

Hi All,

So, I mentioned in a previous post that a colleague at work had ordered some cards for her daughter's store.  This is the second sample I made for them. 

I decided to keep with the same theme and use the Flourishes set All Wrapped Up. I just changed the colours up a bit.  The card base is Whisper White, then a layer of Bashful Blue, which was embossed with the Petals A Plenty embossing folder from SU.  I wrapped some polka dot Rich Razzleberry ribbon around that.

I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry ink on white CS, cut it out, and mounted it with foam dots.

The main panel is cut using square Nestabilities (classic and scallop) using white and Rich Razzleberry CS.

I stamped the present in Memento Tuxedo ink onto Gina K Luxury white CS, and coloured in with Copic markers.  I cut it out, and mounted it with foam dots as well.

Pretty simple one - I think that dry embossing makes all the difference!

Santa and Mrs. Claus DVD Tin

Once again, another challenge! This time, the challenge was from the Club Anya blog.  They have called it "The Complete Package" because the challenge was to use Anya or Ian stamps to make a gift or packaging for a gift.  You can make a card to go with it, but that is not the focus of the challenge.
So....

I used an old DVD tin (can't remember where I got it, but lots of stores have them), and decorated it.  It is a fairly simple layout, using bright and cheerful colours.

The base layer is Bermuda Bay, with rounded corners, then a layer of Crushed Curry, punched with the Martha Stewart Crown edge punch (love that one!), then a layer of Real Red and Whisper White CS.

I then put a strip of Handsome Hunter on top of that, which is punched with an EK Success edge punch that is a landscape of trees.  I added white gel pen to the tips of the trees to make it look like snow.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig with SU's Happy Everything stamp set to stamp the sentiment in black ink at the bottom.

I tied some Bermuda Bay ribbon around the base layer, and attached it to the tin with Sticky Strip.

For the 2 cute characters, I used Anya and Ian from the Xmas Sweeties set. They are an adorable Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  I even coloured their hair gray, even though they are obviously too young for that!  They were stamped onto Gina K Luxury White CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured with Copic markers.

On the inside, I just used Bermuda Bay and Real Red CS to decorate - the same EK Success edge punch with white gel pen.

Mojo Monday 116 - Christmas Wreath

I am a challenge machine this week! I decided to play with Verve's MOJO skecth 116 this week. As usual, the first Monday of the month, there is a chance to win a Verve stamp set! I'm sure everyone's wish list is still lacking, right?

As soon as I saw the circles on the sketch, I knew I HAD to use one of the beautiful wreaths from the Verve set O Christmas Tree. It was calling out to me!

I stamped the wreath in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Gina K Luxury White CS, and coloured it in with my Copic markers. I stamped the bow again, coloured it, cut it out, covered it with Crystal Effects (for a nice shine), and mounted that bow on top with foam dots.

I added some "snow" with my white gel pen on all the little flowers and leaves, and I added some Taylor's Twinkles to the centers of the main flowers.

I used my circle Nestabilities to cut out all the panels - Handsome Hunter is the mat colour, and the circle on the left is white CS, and the circle on the right is a Real Red Patterns Paper DSP pack.

For the circle on the left, I gathered some red and green SU buttons (thread tied on the red ones), and affixed them to the circle with Mini Glue Dots.

My card base is Kraft CS. The next layer is Handsome Hunter and Whisper White, both punched with a Martha Stewart corner punch.  The red at the bottom is from the same DSP paper pack, also with the corners punched. 

The ribbon is red gingham from SU, tied in a simple knot.

The sentiment is from the Verve set Christmas in the Air - this release had my favourite sayings and fonts!  It was just stamped in black ink at the bottom.

Christmas Sprout - Vivi the Elf

Hi All,

I decided to use the adorable Wild Sprout Vivi for my focus.  Instead of the usual red velvet suit, I decided to go with a bright blue.  Actually, my whole card is MUCH brighter than my usual.

My card base is Tempting Turquoise, and I wheeled the Jolly wheel across the top and bottom in Tempting Turquoise ink.

I have a layer of Gable Green CS punched with the Martha Stewart Crown edge punch.  I added some green Stickles to each of the points.  Then, there is a layer of Whisper White CS.

For the main panel, I stamped Vivi in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Solar White CS, and coloured her with my Copic markers, then I cut her out and mounted her with foam squares.  There are a couple of white circles behind her just to clarify the visibility - the DSP is a little busy.

The first rectangle is Christmas Cocoa DSP, then a layer of Tempting Turquoise, then a layer of Gable Green.

In the bottom right corner, it says "christmas cheer"  it is an SU rub-on from the Chit Chat pack.

Farm Fresh Friday - Freshly Squeezed Colours

Well, I almost missed the deadline for this week's Farm Fresh Friday challenge over on the Greeting Farm blog. Whew!
This week, it is actually a colour challenge! The colours are really lovely too, so of course, I had to play. 

I chose one of the Twinkle Tots I won in a past challenge - her name is Princess Ava.  I stamped her onto Gina K Luxury White CS with Versafine Black ink, and embossed her with clear EP.

I coloured her with my Copic markers, then I cut the panel out with my new Curved Rectangle Nestabilities.

I added some white pearls to each corner - got those from Michael's.

To make the brown layer, I actually used the same Nestie (from the white layer), traced the outside onto Chocolate Chip CS, and cut it out with scissors.  The ribbon was run between the white and the brown layers. It is a retired Baja Breeze ribbon from SU.

The card base is Baja Breeze, and I stamped SU's Floral background on the bottom half with Baja Breeze ink.

Next, there is a strip of Kiwi Kiss across the middle, punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch, and a strip of Whisper White on top of that.

The sentiment is a rub-on from SU's Chit Chat pack - I thought it was so adorably perfect for the image, I couldn't help myself.

I added a line of paper piercing in front of that with my piercer and Mat Pack.

Purple Presents

Hi All,

A colleague at work asked me to make some cards for her daughter's store - she wanted the store to be able to put their gift certificates inside, and she wanted them to match - the gift certificates are different shades of purple.  They saw THIS red & green card I made, and wanted one like that.

My card base is Whisper White, then a layer of Elegant Eggplant, then a layer of Almost Amethyst, which was embossed with one of my Cuttlebug folders.

Then, I put 2 strips of Elegant Eggplant across it, and added Jumbo Eyelets to the right sides.

I stamped the sentiment from All Wrapped Up in Elegant Eggplant ink onto white CS, cut it out, and mounted it with foam dots.

I stamped the present from the same set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured it in with my Copic markers.  I mounted that onto a piece of Whisper White CS that I cut out with my Label Nestabilities, and sponged with Almost Amethyst ink.

Another {Jumbo} Baby Card

I made this for a girl at work who went on mat leave, so I got everyone to sign it before she left!

I made a jumbo card (ie. folded a full sheet of white CS in half), because I still had an extra large envelope from SU (before they decided not to make them any more). The next layer is Handsome Hunter, and the next layer is a piece of retired Wintergreen DSP. Do you ever wish that you picked up some extra packs of DSP before they were gone??? I could list a few where I regret not stocking up : ( Anywho, I punched the DSP layer and the Handsome Hunter layer with some EK Success edge punches - one large scallop, and one large double scallop.

There is a strip of the Wintergreen DSP across the middle with some White Organdy ribbon around it, and I used my Bow Easy to make the bow, and I attached it with Mini Glue Dots.

The sentiment is from the old set Word On Word (never letting that one go!). It was stamped in Handsome Hunter ink onto white CS, and layered onto Handsome Hunter CS.

The onesies are from the set By Ones and By Twos (one of my favourite baby sets). I stamped them onto the Wintergreen DSP layer 3 times in black ink. Then, I stamped them 3 more times onto scraps of DSP, cut them out, and mounted them with Dimensionals. Cause, who wants to try to cut out those hangers, right?

The letters are self-adhesive chipboard letters I bought from Michael's, and I covered them with Handsome Hunter ink.

JustRite Christmas

Hi All,

I pulled out my JustRite stamps for this Christmas goodie.

The card base is Whisper White, then a layer of Garden Green, punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch. At the top, there are rhinestones I got from Michael's.

The next layer is a piece of the Christmas Cocoa DSP pack, and a piece of Whisper White embossed with the Snowflakes Cuttlebug folder.

I wrapped some Gina K Polka Dot Ribbon around that layer.

For the 3 circles, I used JustRite's Merry Little Christmas Borders & Centers. I stamped them several times on Gina K Luxury White CS in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured with Prismacolour markers. I layered them so they would pop out. On the Santa hat, I used Ivory Flower Soft, and on the bells, I used some gold glitter. On the sentiment circle, I added some sparkle with my Sakura Gelly roll pen on the candies (hard to see in the pic).

Double Trouble

Hi All,

A lady at work asked me to make her a card to give to someone that just had twins - 1 of each gender. She said she couldn't find any cards that had pink and blue on them. So, here goes...

The card base is Whisper White, then a layer of Chocolate Chip, then another layer of Whisper White, embossed with the Bloom Dots Cuttlebug folder.

Next, I tied some wide White Organdy Ribbon around the whole base. I also added 2 custom-made brads to the right-hand side. I used the Pewter Build-A-Brad to make those. I punched 2 of the 1/2" circles out of DSP, and I stamped the boat and the flower from SU's By Ones & By Twos set on those circles. I coloured them in with markers, then put the brads together.

For the main panel, I used Gina K Luxury White CS, I stamped the babies from TGF's Oh Baby set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured them with Copic markers. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I layered that onto Choolate Chip CS, and then I split the next layer in half - the pink half is the Walk In The Park DSP, and the blue half is the Handdrawn DSP.

I also decorated the inside using some Chocolate Chip CS, some white CS, and a Martha Stewart corner punch (you can see it a little bit in the first picture).

Razzleberry Dasher - Stamp Camp Card 4

Hi All,
This is the final card I am posting from my November Stamp Camp. It uses the beloved Dasher stamp from the "Under $12" page at the back of the catty.

I used a Sponge Dauber to add Frost White Shimmer Paint to the stamp, and stamped it onto Rich Razzleberry CS. That was matted onto Whisper White, then onto Basic Gray CS.

The card base is Basic Gray, followed by a layer of Whisper White, and a layer of Rich Razzleberry that was embossed with the Finial Press embossing folder.

The strip at the bottom is a piece of Basic Grat DSP, sponged with Rich Razzleberry ink, and matted onto a piece of Basic Gray CS. The sentiment is from the set Happy Everything. I stamped Happy in Versamark and embossed with white EP. Next, I stamped Holidays in Rich Razzleberry ink onto a white scrap and punched it out with the Word Window punch, and adhered it below the Happy.

Pocket Silhouettes - Stamp Camp Card 3

I am posting another card from my November Stamp Camp! It uses the much loved Pocket Silhouettes stamp set - I love these four images.

Card base is Sage Shadow, followed by a layer of Chocolate Chip, then a layer of To The Nines DSP.

I used my Scallop Square punch to punch 4 squares out of Sage Shadow CS, and I sponged them with Chocolate Chip ink.

I punched 4 circles out of Chocolate Chip CS using my 1 3/8" Circle punch. I stamped the 4 silhouettes in Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip ink on White CS, and punched them out with the 1 1/4" Circle punch. I also sponged those with their corresponding colours.

At the bottom, I stamped the sentiment from Wonderful Words in Chocolate Chip.

Bella Toile - Stamp Camp Card 2

Hi All,


This is another card we made at my November Stamp Camp. I think this one was my favourite - it just had a classy look about it.
I only used Very Vanilla and Basic Black - clean and simple! Card base is Vanilla, then a layer of Black CS. The front layer is Vanilla, stamped with the Bella Toile background stamp in Versamark, and embossed with black EP.

I added 2 Vanilla half-back pearls from the Pretties Kit with Glue Dots to the top right side.

I also used the wide Black Striped ribbon from SU across the bottom - I think these wide striped ribbons are the most eye-catching ones they have ever released!


I used the sentiment from Sincere Salutations in Basic Black ink, and punched it out with my Curly Label punch, and that was matted with another Curly Label Punch out of Black CS.

That's the whole story, and I think it came out as an effective card!

Digi Scrap Page - Friend's Birthday

Hi All,
I thought I would post a page I was playing around with in SU's My Digital Studio software. Did you know that you can use digital images and papers from other companies in the software??? It is so versatile. As long as the files you are using are .png or .jpg, the software will accept it.

The kit I used here is called Reflections, which I got from Digichick. It has lots of fun elements, including disco balls, strings, and other fun stuff.

As you can probably tell, we were going out to a night club for some dancing and fun. Boy, did our feet hurt by the end of the night! (That's me, second from the right).

Let It Snow - Stamp Camp Card 1

Hi All,

Well, I thought I would post the first card we will be doing at my November Stamp Camp.

This card is actually a CASE of the one from the catalogue (I switched some of the papers, though). It uses the Big on Christmas stamp set - stamped in Basic Black ink onto Kraft CS. The 2 left corners were punched with the Corner Rounder. I watercoloured some shadow underneath with my Neutral Watercolour Wonder Cayons and my Aqua Painter. I stamped the snowman on a piece of white CS, coloured him with markers, cut him out, and mounted him with Dimensionals.

At the bottom of the Kraft piece, there is a piece of Real Red CS punched with the Scallop Edge punch.

The card base is Night of Navy CS, and I rolled the Jolly Wheel across the middle in Night of Navy ink (it's hard to see in the pic). Then, there is a strip of Old Olive CS, and at the bottom is a piece of DSP from the Christmas Cocoa pack (in the mini catty).

Farm Fresh Friday - Sketch 11

Hi All,

I am participating again in this week's Farm Fresh Friday challenge, which you can find HERE at the Greeting Farm blog. I decided to use a digi image by Marina called Mistletoe Kiss. These 2 skunks are adorable!

I coloured them with copic markers, matted them with Baja Breeze CS, and added twinkle brads from Close To My Heart to the top right corner. They are really pretty and sparkly!

Underneath the skunks, there is white Liquid Applique with glitter to look like snow. I also added some Burgundy Stickles to the holly berries.

I used my Coluzzle to cut out the white circle, and embossed it with my Big Shot and Snowflakes Cuttlebug folder. I went over the raised parts and the egdes with Baja Breeze ink.

The 2 DSP sheets on the bottom are also from TGF - called Merry Merry. Those layers are also matted with Baja Breeze CS, and each piece has Liquid Applique and the bottom.

Card Patterns Sketch 41

Hi All,

Well, I wanted to make a card with the great sketch over on the Card Patterns blog HERE. I thought the diamond shapes looked neat, so it was a great opportunity to make yet another Christmas card!

For my creation, I wanted to pull out some of the new stuff I got from Close To My Heart. I used the stamp set Holiday Trinkets and the paper pack Jingle (both CTMH).

I stamped the ornament in Sage Shadow ink, first stamping off onto a scrap piece, then stamping onto my white CS for a lighter ornament. Then, I stamped the snowflake decoration inside the ornament full strength. I also sponged some Sage Shadow ink aroung the outsides of the ornament. I added some white Liquid Pearls to that and cut the ornament out. (ends up being mounted with Dimensionals)

I used my Label 1 Nestabilities to cut out the middle diamond shapes, and I will be posting my tutorial in the next couple of days on how to make the mat for that thinner (the next size up in Nestie is quite a bit bigger).

On the main white panel, I stamped the snowflake from Holiday Trinkets in Blue Bayou ink (first stamping off to get a lighter image), and added some blue Liquid Pearls to the centres. I stamped the ornament string in Sahara Sand ink. I added some sponging around the edges of that piece. I matted that on a slightly larger piece of Blue Bayou CS, which was distressed with my Distressing Tool from SU.

The 2 diamonds on either side are 2 1/4" squares of the Jingle DSP, as well as the red strip across the top. That strip was paper pierced with my piercer and Mat Pack, and it was also distressed.

The white card base was punched with the Martha Stewart edge punch (the icicle one), then a piece of green CS was layered underneath.

The ribbon is Rocket Red Polka Dot from Gina K (she sells smaller ribbon bundles for less money, so you are more likely to use it all!) - check HERE. I made that bow using the Bow Easy (which I also bought from Gina K HERE). If you need help on how to use it, I used the tutorial HERE. This tool is amazing! Perfect bows every time.

Friends Forever?

I made this card using the adorable Charlotte stamp from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps. For some reason, I am really drawn to these ladies!

Once again, my colours were inspired by my DSP - Rockabilly. I am loving that pack lately, and I wish I had purchased an extra pack before it retired.

The card base is Whisper White, with a layer of Ridinghood Red, and a layer of DSP (the black one with the glossy cherries is so delicious).

The next layer is a piece of DSP layered with a piece of Kiwi Kiss CS, and they were cut from SU's Top Note die and my Big Shot. There was a piece of Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon tied around at this point.

The main image panel was Neeah Solar White CS, cut out with Label Nestabilities, and that was layered onto a piece of Ridinghood Red CS. I found online somewhere how to make a thinner border for the Label Nesties (like the red one here), but I don't remember where. So, I will make a tutorial for it, and maybe someone can tell me who posted it originally, so I can give credit.

So, I stamped Charlotte in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured her with Copic markers. I sponged a bit of Kiwi Kiss ink around her as well, for some extra interest. I also added some Crystal Effects to the dolls' eyes to make them pop.

I added some black brads to the outside of the 2 die-cut layers as well. The sentiment is a Rub-On from SU's Chit Chat pack. I thought it was fitting, because it looks like Charlotte is not letting those dolls go for anything!
