Sketch Saturday 190: Sew Awesome

Hi all,

I'm playing along with today's layout over on the Sketch Saturday blog: #190.  Love these sketches!
Here it is:

I decided to use one of Kristy's newer clear releases - a Valentine's image!  The big day is coming, you know.

Here's mine:
My card base is Sahara Sand CS, my patterned papers are from Basic Grey's pack called Olivia, and everything has black mats.  The strip across the middle was punched with an SU scallop edge punch, and I added some Old Olive grosgrain ribbon around that.
I also added a corner with my SU Photo Corner punch, and I added 3 rhinestones to that, and 3 more to the other corners on the base.
I stamped the sentiment (which comes with the image) in black ink onto the patterned paper.

I stamped the thread spool from In Stitches Tia onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Memeto Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured it with Copics and cut it out using Classic Circle Nesties.  I added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS and I added some sponging to the inside of the stencil using Wheat Versamagic ink.
I stamped Tia onto Bella's Bestest Paper using Onyx Versafine ink and embossed her with Clear EP.  I coloured her with Copics, cut her out with a thin white border, and mounted her on top of the spool with foam dots.
She's adorable!!!

By the way, Kristy is having a 2-year birthday celebration and new releases next week, so keep your eye on the SOG blog for lots of fun stuff!!!  You will love it!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday and Alice

Hi all,

I hope everyone has had a great weekend so far - I can't believe Monday has spring up again...back to work tomorrow.
I did get some time to play with my Some Odd Girl images this weekend!  I am using the Sketch Saturday Sketch #183 for my card today.  Here's the sketch:

Here's mine:
I've stuck with a Clean and Simple (CAS) card - I thought the plain white background would be nice with these papers.  I cut the main oval out of Kraft CS using Classic Oval Nesties, and I added some Walnut Stain Distress ink to the inside.  My patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist collection called Out of the Blue, and the circles were done with Classic Circle Nesties.
My sentiment is from Stamping Bella, and was stamped onto Kraft CS and punched out with my Modern Label punch.
I added dots to the oval and the sentiment using my white gel pen.

I printed Alice Mae onto Whisper White CS, coloured her with Copics and cut her out with a thin white border around.  Ain't she cute???

Also, don't forget about our recipe challenge going on at the SOG blog - you still have time to play along!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday 180: Deck The Halls

Hi all,
I liked the sketch from Sketch Saturday so much, I had to use it again...this time I made a holiday card using one of the newest digi releases at Some Odd Girl!

Here's a glimpse of the sketch:

And here's my humble version:
My card base is Chocolate Chip CS, and my patterned papers are from SU's Ski Slope pack, with black mats.  I used an SU scallop edge punch for the panel on the left, and I added some rhinestones to the side.  The strip along the bottom is Old Olive CS, and the sentiment is an SU rub-on.  For the top right corner, I added some adorable string ornaments by Jolee's - aren't they cute?

I printed Bright Lights Kaylee onto Whisper White CS, and coloured her with Copics.  I cut her out with Classic Rectangle Nesties, and added some Java Versamagic sponging to the inside of the stencil.  I matted that with a black scallop rectangle.

On another note, in honour of American Thanksgiving, Kristy has released some adorable images, and they are being shown on the SOG blog! Head over and take a look - great images for occasions with gratitude!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday 180: Ginger KETTO

Hi all,
I spotted an adorable image that I had stamped and not coloured yet, and I had to give her the respect of making her into something :-)

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the Ketto images from Stamping Bella?!?  When Emily released them, I went a little crazy!!!

I'm also playing along with the Sketch Saturday challenge for this week: #180.  Here's a glimpse:

Here's my version:
I actually didn't make a square card, so I had to adjust the panels a bit.
My card base is Cameo Coral CS, and the patterned papers are from the SU DSP pack called Ginger Blossom, and the mats are black CS.  The buttons are from SU, with some Linen Thread, and attached with some Mini Glue Dots.
The black strip was cut out with one of the Die-Namics border dies.

I stamped Ginger KETTO on Bella's Bestest Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured her with Copics, and added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I punched her out with Classic Square Nesties and mounted that onto a scallop square in black.

Don't forget about our current Holiday challenge for Bellarific Friday - you still have until Thursday night to submit your holiday card to Emily!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday 173: Deer Gift Mae

Hi all,

I know I've mentioned before that my favourite cards to make are Christmas cards, right?  Well, I dunno if you've seen the newest digital images over at Some Odd Girl, but Kristy released some of the cutest holiday images the last go!

I spotted a great sketch over on the Sketch Saturday blog, #176, and I had to give it a try!  Here is the sketch:

Fabulous - I love a sketch that lets me use my patterned papers!

Here's mine:

My base is Kraft CS (I always use that, for some reason).  My patterned papers are from SU's Christmas Cocoa DSP pack, and my mats are black.  I added some polka dot Soft Suede Ribbon around the square base, and some miscellaneous red rhinestones to 2 of the corners.
My sentiment is an SU rub-on, using Real Red CS, and punched with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.

I printed Deer Gift Mae onto Whisper White CS, coloured her with Copics, and added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I added some glitter spots all around her - I think it adds that holiday touch!  I cut her out with Curved Rectangle Nesties, and added some Wheat Versamagic spongin inside the stencil.
I have to say - my favourite part of this image is her little tail, and the spots on her little backside - she is the cutest!

Sketch Saturday: Dancin' Around

Hi all,

I'm playing along with this week's Sketch Saturday 157, and it's an interesting one!
Here's a glimpse:

I left out the circle because my image was way too big, and it would have been covered.  But I tried to get all the other stuff in :-)

Here's mine:
My card base is some yummy Diamonds Bazzill textured CS.  The patterned papers are both from the Cosmo Cricket pack called Salt Air, and the mat is Kraft CS, which was punched with the Martha Stewart Lattice edge punch.

For the main panel, I used Kraft CS, with a black mat, and I tied some Linen Thread around the top.  I stamped Dancin' Mae from Some Odd Girl onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo ink, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with foam dots.
I added some black Sakura Glaze pen to her iPod for some texture on the music note!

Copics used:

Sketch Saturday 156: You Perk Me Up

Hi all,

I saw a really great sketch out there in blog land, and decided I had to use it!  I am playing along with Sketch Saturday 156 sketch, and here is a glimpse:

As soon as I saw it, I thought that I loved the large middle panel, and it would be a great chance to use some patterned papers!

Here's mine:
My base is Kraft CS, which I've been loving lately.  All my patterned papers are from the Cosmo Cricket pack called Social Club, and all the papers are delicious!  Most of the panels are matted with black CS, and I wrapped some red polka dot satin ribbon around the middle strip.
Two of the corners of the base piece were punched with the Tag Corner punch, and I added some black Martha Stewart pearls to those corners.
The sentiment (which comes with the image, BTW) was stamped onto white CS with black ink, and I cut the words out, and mounted them onto Kraft CS.

I stamped Perk Me Up Peeps onto Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured them up with Copics, and added some shading with pencils.  I paper pieced the cup jacket and the heart with Kraft and Real Red CS.  I punched out the image with Classic Rectangle Nesties, and added some Wheat Versamagic sponging on the inside.  I clipped the corners with my Corner Rounder Punch as well.
I have to tell you: these PEEP images are really quick to colour up - such a pleasure to work with!

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R02
Hair: Brown - E71, E74, E79; Blonde - Y32, Y35, Y38
Jeans: B32, B24, B37, B39
Coffee Cup: BG70, BG72, BG78
Shirts: W3, W5, W7, BV23

Don't forget: you still have time to play along with our Bellarific Friday challenge: to use Kraft, Navy, and Green! Make sure you submit your card to Emily by Thursday night!

That's it for today - everyone enjoy your week!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Surf's Up!

Hi all,

I am playing along this week with a fun layout over on the Sketch Saturday blog - #142!  Great sketch this week, and a great excuse for me to pull out an old freebie from Some Odd Girl!
Here's the sketch:

OK, so here's mine:

My card base is Brilliant Blue CS, followed by a Whisper White piece with a Basic Black mat.  The brads are also Brilliant Blue, and I used my Mat Pack and Paper Piercer to place them.  The horizontal stripes are Pumpkin Pie CS, and the vertical stripes are Bashful Blue.  I used my SU Star Punch to punch a star out of Barely Banana CS, and I added some black dots around the outside.  I punched an oval out of Brilliant Blue CS using my classic oval Nesties, and added some black dots around that too.

I printed Hang 10 Kody onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured him with Copics, cut him out, and mounted him on with foam dots.
This image was a past freebie, and it's not currently in the store, but there are plenty of other KODYs available!

I kept this one pretty simple - great for a boy, young or old!

Don't forget to check out the current challenge over on the SOG blog before time runs out!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Party Animal

Hi all,

I am playing along with this week's Sketch Saturday layout #141.  Another fun sketch to use, and I brought out one of my old Hallowe'en images from Some Odd Girl.  Here's the sketch:

I am also playing along with the ABC Challenge with the letter N (to use Nesties), and the Crafty Catz Challenge #68 (use tartan/plaid).

Here's my card:

My card base is Gable Green CS, and all my plaid DSP is from SU's retired Manchester paper pack, and I added some Close To Cocoa sponging around the bottom 2 layers.  All of the layers are matted with Basic Black CS.  The 2 small strips are Whisper White, and I added a black brad to each.
The sentiment is from Stamping Bella, and I used Whisper White and Kraft CS for that one.
The circle is cut with my Classic Circle Nesties, and I embossed the Whisper White piece with the Floral Screen Cuttlebug embossing folder - I think it looks like a forrest.

I used the adorable Rawr Tobie image, printed him onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, and cut him out with a thin white border.  I added some black Sakura Glaze pen to the eyes - it's really great because it dries raised, and it's nice and shiny!

Don't forget about the scallops challenge running on the SOG blog HERE.  You have until Wednesday to play along!  We will post a new challenge on Thursday.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday and a Spoiler

Hi all,

Well, I am playing along with another fun layout over on the Sketch Saturday blog - #137.  For some reason, I usually really like the sketches over there!  Here's a glimpse:

Before I show you my card, I need to let something slip - I got a Christmas card from our Fearless Leader Kristy this season, which I loved, but that wasn't the best part! Inside the card, was a little present for me...

Kristy sent me a sample of what one of her images would be like in acrylic!!!  I am sooooo stoked about this - I do like my digital images, but I will always be partial to the physical stamp.  If I can get my mitts on some more of these images, I will be a happy camper!  I think everyone should email Kristy and try to convince her to make a bunch of stamps! LOL

Anyway, here is my card for this week, using my BRAND NEW Love Letter Kaylee stamp!  BTW, if you love this image, you can buy her in digi form HERE.

My card base is Always Artichoke CS, and my DSP pieces are from SU's Manchester pack, with Whisper White mats.  The photo corner is done using a punch with Whisper White and Basic Black CS.  I added some iconz rhinestones to that, as well as 3 rhinestones to the top of the large DSP panel.

Kaylee was stamped onto Neenah Solar White CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Copics.  I also added some shading with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  That layer was matted onto a Basic Black piece and popped up on foam circles.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday 134: Ollie

Hi all,

I wanted to play along with the Sketch Saturday 134 sketch this week again - I love these sketches!  There was a giant square panel in the centre which really appealed to me!

AND, did you know that the monkee from Some Odd Girl has been named Ollie??? I am using Sad Ollie for this card, cause he's sooo cute!  I morphed him into a get well monkee...

Here is the sketch:

Here is my take:

I left a couple panels out because the card was small, and the image was big, but I got the gist of it.  My card base is Basic Gray CS, and I also used Basic Black CS for all my mats.  The DSP is from SU's Close To Cocoa Prints pack, and I added some black jumbo brads to the side.

I printed Ollie onto Neenah Solar White CS and coloured him with Copics.  I added some Crystal Effects to his tears, and I added some black Sakura pen to his eyes.  I cut him out with my Square Nesties, and mounted it with Basic Black CS.

Make sure you check out the SOG blog for the current BLING challenge, and good luck!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday 132

Hi all,

I am playing along today with the Sketch Saturday 132 sketch!  And in keeping with my favourite season, I had to make another Christmas card!  I used the Santa image from Some Odd Girl, and some fun Dashing DSP from SU.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my version:

I used Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White CS, along with Dashing DSP.  I punched the white strips with my Icicle egde punch by Martha Stewart.  The oval was cut with my Classic Oval Nesties.  The sentiment is an SU rub-on, on top of Basic Black CS, and punched out with the SU ornament punch.

I printed Santa onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, cut him out, and mounted him on with Dimensionals.
Don't forget to head over to the SOG blog and take a look at the current challenge, and other news!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday with an Elf!

Hi all!

I have been playing with some of the awesome holiday images from the Some Odd Girl store! And Sketch Saturday just posted this week's sketch, and it's a fun one!  Here's a peek:

So, here's my take:

I used Chocolate Chip and Whisper White CS, as well as Ski Slope DSP.  The Whisper White strip was punched with the Martha Stewart Icicle edge punch and I added some Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon on top of that.  My sentiment is an SU rub-on, and punched out with the Word Window punch.  The snowflakes are from the Felt Flurries Accents & Elements collection, and the ovals are cut with Oval Nesties.

I printed Elf Kaylee onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with Dimensionals.  I think she's just the cutest little thing, and make sure you check out her ears - they are extra long and pointy!

Don't forget to stop by the SOG blog to see what challenges are happening right now!

Penguin Friends

Hi all,

I am really getting into the winter/holiday card-making these days, especially since a lot of the stamp companies are releasing those types of images now.  They are my favourite!

Today, I'm playing along with a few challenges in blog land, and I am also playing with an upcoming release from Some Odd Girl!  They have a bunch of awesome winter and holiday-themed images coming out on November 9, so mark your calendars!

I am playing along with these challenges:
- A Spoon Full of Sugar #127: Let's get punchy (I used punches for the icicles and the sentiment circles)
- ABC Challenge: G is for Glitter (I used glitter to make snow around the penguins)
- Craft Your Passion #30: Anything Goes
- Sketch Saturday #127 with this sketch:

I always LOVE their sketches!  I am working with an image called Penguin Friends from Some Odd Girl.  It is one of the amazing and fun images being released on November 9!

Here's my card:
The base is Chocolate Chip CS, and the next layer is a blue piece of Ski Slope DSP (sponged with Chocolate Chip ink) and matted with Basic Black and Whisper White CS.  At the top of that, I added a Whisper White strip punched with my Martha Stewart icicle punch.  I added a snowflake brad and 2 blue eyelets to the right side.
The striped piece is the same Ski Slope DSP with a black mat.  To the left of that, I added a bow made with some white organdy ribbon and my Bow Easy (attached with a Mini Glue Dot).
I printed Penguin Friends onto PTI White CS once, punched it out with Square Nesties, and added some Baja Breeze sponging inside the square. I matted that onto a black piece.  I dotted some glue pen all over the blue portion of the square, and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to that.  Underneath that square panel, I added a piece of Baja Breeze and a piece of Chocolate Chip ribbon folded into a loop.
I printed the penguins onto another white piece, coloured them with Copics, cut them out, and mounted them on with Dimensionals. Underneath the penguins, I added some Ivory Flower Soft to imitate some fun snow.

I stamped the sentiment (from SU) onto a white scrap in black ink, and punched it out with my 1 1/4" circle punch.  I added some holly with a red and green marker.  That was matted onto a brown DSP circle punched with my 1 3/8" circle punch.

Don't forget our fortnightly challenges on the SOG blog, and head over to Some Odd Girl, and click on the Freebie tab to download the freebie for November!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

A Card and Some Housekeeping

Hi all,

Well, there is a lot going on right now with Some Odd Girl
First up:  there is a challenge happening right now to name the new SOG monkee ("Who Is I?")!  This is a lost critter that has no name, and we need your help!  I have used one of the upcoming monkees on my card today, and you can find the details for the contest HERE.  If you win the contest, you will win the entire monkee release, as well as a set of Copics, and a gift certificate!
If you don't win, the monkees will be released on November 2nd for purchase!

Second: Some Odd Girl is teaming up with Operation Write Home at the moment.  This is an organization that gets really needed cards to the troops!  Please check out the SOG post HERE.  If you are going to play along, make sure to read the rules too : )  The deets and links are on the SOG Challenge blog.  If you win this challenge, you will be able to choose 4 free digis from the upcoming Tinies release - this is something you don't want to miss!

Lastly, I have a fun card to share.  Like I said, I am using one of the nameless Monkees, which are soon-to-be-released (November).  I also played along with the Sketch Saturday challenge this week.  Here is the sketch:

I used Porcelain Prints DSP, as well as Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip CS.  Instead of a scallop edge, I used my Martha Stewart Crown edge punch at the top, with some Chocolate grosgrain ribbon.  I added some large Chocolate Chip buttons to the left side with mini Glue dots, and the sentiment is an SU rub-on.  For the middle panel, I used my Oval and Square Nesties for neat layering.

I printed "the monkee" onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured him with Copics, cut him out and mounted him on with Dimensionals.

As always, Some Odd Girl has their own bi-weekly challenge up - right now, it is Stash 7 challenge: to use 3 or more images on your project.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Another Tiny Tia

Hi all,

I am entering a few challenges, and I am using another Tiny Tia image from Some Odd Girl!  Just wait until September 21, when Kristy unleashes the amazing release she has been cooking up!

I am entering the Allsorts challenge this week (park theme), as well as the Crafty Catz challenge (orange, blue and brown), and the Sketch Saturday challenge.  Here is the sketch:

So, here it is:
I have a white card base, and my brown CS is Soft Suede, punched with a scallop edge punch.  Next, is a layer of Haiku DSP (orange), matted with Basic Black, and punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch.  Across that there is a blue strip of Petals & Paisleys DSP, and a piece of Soft Suede polka dot ribbon.  The sentiment is an SU rub-on.

I printed Tia off onto Neenah Solar White CS and coloured her with Copics.  I used the "out of the box" technique with my square Nesties to cut out her panel.  I matted that with a Basic Black square Nesty, and I added my embellishment to the bottom corner, instead of the top.  It is a flower from a Martha Stewart package that I got at Michael's.

Don't forget to head over to Some Odd Girl for your digi needs, and get the monthly freebie! Also, head on over to the SOG blog to see what challenge is running, and be sure to enter your creation!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!
