A New Month and A New Sketch!

Hi all,

Well, I suppose we should welcome eachother into a new month!  This year has gone by so quickly, and now we're in December!  That is just crazy.

Since it's the first Wednesday of the month, we are playing along with a new sketch challenge over on the InStyle Stamps blog!  I always LOVE sketches - I do the least amount of thinking, and somehow, the project comes out decent - that is a credit to the talented peeps making the sketches!
Here is the sketch for this month (SC16):

Now, that is good stuff - I always love a large main panel : )

So, here is my creation:

I used a 5 1/4" square base of Soft Suede CS, and the 2 patterned papers in the background are from SU's Christmas Cocoa pack.  At the bottom, I added a strip of Soft Suede polka dot ribbon.  My sentiment is an SU rub-on, on top of Real Red CS, and punched out with the SU ornament punch.

I printed my digi image, Scarf Chick, onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with Rectangle Nesties.  I added some Soft Suede sponging on the inside of that panel, and matted it with a Basic Black piece.

InStyle November Sketch

Hi all,

Well, we have another sketch challenge for you over on the InStyle Stamps blog!  I posted about it earlier this week, but I decided I had to play along, so here we are!  The DT got some really fun holiday images to work with this month - they are my favourite kind of images!  Christmas is coming...do you hear it?

Here is the sketch from Taylor:

When I see a sketch with panels like this, I always think it will be an awesome opportunity to use some fun patterned papers!  And, in keeping with the holiday trend, I am using the digi image Sandy.  She is a cute little Mrs. Santa!

Here's mine:

My base is Kraft CS, and all the mats are done with Basic Black CS.  I schemed long and hard about all the measurements for the panels on this one!  The DSP is from SU's retired Ski Slope pack, and I added some miscellaneous snowflake brads to the corners.

I printed Sandy onto PTI White CS, and coloured her with Copics.  I added some Baja Breeze sponging around the edges, and some Vanilla Flower Soft at the bottom.  I also added some white Fun Flock to her hat.  AND there is some Sakura Glaze pen on her belt for some shine.

ISS Sketch Challenge

Hi all,

Now, the InStyle Stamps sketch challenge is usually on the first Wednesday of the month, but I thought I would give you a little reminder!  Our challenges on the ISS blog run for a whole month, so you have lots of time to play!  You still have time to get in on this challenge HERE, but only until November 2.
Here's the sketch:

Here is my take on it - I went a little down home country feel on it:

My card base is Basic Gray, and the DSP and the mat is a gardening piece from DDDesigns.  I thought it was kinda cute - I think I found it on sale at an independent scrap store some years ago.  I added some white eyelets to the corners, and used my Crop-A-Dile to set them. I added some twill around the whole base layer, then added 2 miscellaneous flowers with a button in the middle to that.  I also added my sentiment using puffy white Thickers - love that texture.

I printed the digi Pie onto PTI White CS, coloured it with Copics, cut it out, and mounted it on with Dimensionals.  I am so hungry for pie!!! Ideally an apple, or a strawberry rhubarb.

InStyle Stamps Sketch Challenge 13

Hi all,

It is the first Wednesday of the month, and that means another awesome sketch challenge at the InStyle Stamps blog!  The DT had an extra challenge, which was to make the sketch using a T-Slide card.  If you have never made one, there is a tutorial on SCS HERE.  If you are a fan of the Chloe images from ISS, you will die when you see the Chloes that Virginia is releasing this month.  We will also have a killer release week for these images come the week of September 20.  We will have lots of new images to showcase, and they will be released into the store that week!
Here's the sketch:

My base is Basic Black, and all the DSP is from the Basic Grey pack called Scarlett Letter.  It has a lot of nice black, red, and gray papers, and the letters at the top are from the same package.  I love the vintage and distressed look of the papers.  I thought the striped paper went well with a carnival or circus theme.

My image is Clown Chloe, to be released later this month at ISS as a digi image.  I absolutely LOVE this image!  I love the ruffles especially.  I printed her onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out.  I also added some sparkle to her shoes with a black Atyou Spica glitter pen.  I mounted her onto the oval panel (Kraft and white CS cut with Oval Nesties), and that was mounted onto the square panel (Kraft, White, and Basic Black CS, cut with Square Nesties, with 2 strips of DSP on the top). 

Here is what it looks like when the slider is pulled - sorry about the picture.  I didn't really make sure I pulled it out straight before I snapped the shot, so it looks a little crooked.  I assure you, it's not : )  The sentiment is an SU rub-on.

InStyle Stamps Sketch Challenge 12

Thanks for stopping in today to play with the ISS DT on this month's sketch challenge!  Here is the amazing sketch we got to play with this time, courtesy of Taylor:

Now, there's a catch!  The card has to be an easel card!  Now these types of cards are really easy to make - if you don't know how, head over to THIS tutorial on SCS.

InStyle Stamps will also be having a release this month - the image I'm using will be released on August 20, so you're getting a sneak peek!  I am using Hanna, and she is an adorable little hippo!  Here it is:

I used mainly Whisper White and Basic Black CS, and I threw in some Black Orchid DSP by SEI.  For the border, I used the Martha Stewart crown punch, and I added some miscellaneous rhinestones to the DSP.  I also used a Label One Nesty for the middle panel.

I printed Hanna onto PTI White CS twice, and coloured her with Copics.  I cut one out with Square Nesties, and sponged the background on, and cut the other one out, and mounted it on top with Dimensionals.  I added some Crystal Effects to the eyes for some gloss.

InStyle Stamps: Sketch Challenge 11

Hi Everyone!

Well, it is the 2nd of the month, which means another fun sketch challenge over at the InStyle Stamps blog!  Our awesome DT Coordinator Taylor has lined up another fun sketch for everyone to play with!  For the entire month of July, all the DT are showcasing holiday images!  That means Hallowe'en, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and even some fall themes!  Nothing like a head start, I say!

Here is the sketch:

Now, I don't usually do this, but I had to flip the sketch to accommodate my image - oooooo, rebel!

Here's mine:

My card base is Really Rust CS, followed by a layer of Chocolate Chip, and Fall Flowers DSP.  The half circle is also Chocolate Chip and DSP, which was cut out with my Coluzzle.  I also added some fall leaves from Close To My Heart, and some fern branches cut out of Chocolate Chip CS using a Martha Stewart punch, and I topped it off with a white button with some Linen Thread.

I printed Jocelyn from ISS onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with Label Seven Nesties.  I also punched out some photo corners with Chocolate Chip CS and DSP, and added it to each corner.

InStyle Stamps Sketch #10: Baseball!

Thanks for joining me today - I am showing my project for the InStyle Stamps 10th Sketch Challenge!  Head on over to the ISS blog to see what the whole DT have created, and to submit your own creation to try to win some great stuff!  Here is the awesome sketch from Taylor:

Now, THAT is a fun sketch!

Here is what I came up with:

My card base is Whisper White, and I embossed the front with the mesh Cuttlebug folder.  I love embossing on white - it looks so crisp!  For the horizontal panel, I used a Creamy Caramel piece, embossed with the dots folder, and sponged around with Chocolate Chip ink.  I matted that onto a Basic Black layer, which was punched with my Martha Stewart fence edge punch.

At the bottom, I used a polka dotted piece of self-adhesive ribbon.  Then, I stamped a Kraftin' Kimmie sentiment onto Chocolate Chip CS in black ink, and punched it out with my Word Window punch.  I added a Creamy Caramel button with Linen Thread to the right of that.

For the main panel, the larger rectangle piece is Close to Cocoa CS, with the corners punched with the Ticket Corner punch.  I printed the adorable Alyssa onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with Rectangle Nesties.  I added a larger Nestie black piece behind that, and both pieces were punched with the Ticket Corner Punch as well.

Instyle Stamps, Sketch Challenge 9

It's that time of the month for another sketch challenge from InStyle Stamps!  I LOVE sketch challenges.  It seems like there are endless possibilities - you can choose your colours, papers, embellishments...everything!

Lots of room for creativity!

Here's what I got:

My card base is Old Olive Textured CS.  For all of the cardstock and patterned papers, I got them from a Simply Scrappin' Kit (SU) called Confetti.  For the next layer, I used some DSP, matted with Basic Black CS, which was punched with an EK Success edge punch.  I added 2 photo corners using Black CS and DSP.  For the vertical layer, I used DSP and Basic Black CS again. 

But, on op of that, I added a rub on - some vines and flowers.  I also added some cosmo glitter with my 2-Way Glue Pen.  I tied some White Satin ribbon around the whole base layer.

I stamped the sentiment "Grateful" (from Close To My Heart) in Versamark ink onto Summer Sun CS, and embossed with Maize embossing powder.  That was punched out with the Word Window punch, and adhered to the bottom of the long panel.

For the main panel, I printed "Wishing Chloe" onto PTI White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with Oval Nesties.  I added some sponging for the clouds with Bashful Blue ink to the background.  I matted that with a Basic Black layer.

ISS Sketch Challenge 8: Heels!

Hi All,

It's time for the InStyle Stamps monthly Sketch Challenge - happens on the second day of every month!  If you'd like to check out everything that the DT has done, please head over to the blog to see all the pics!

Once I saw these Heels, I thought I HAD to have them!  They are completely adorable, and there are so many possibilities...especially with colouring!  And I LOVE my colouring!  This is a sneak peek of sorts - these heels will not be released at the ISS store until the end of April.

Here is this month's sketch:

Okay, it looks pretty fun, right?  Here is what I came up with:

My card base is Whisper White...then come the layers: Basic Black, then Whisper White, then Raspberry Tart DSP.  The strip on the left is also Basic Black, Whisper White, and DSP.

I cut the main panel out of Basic Black CS and Raspberry Tart DSP with Label 7 Nesties, and added some pink rhinestones (from Michael's) to the sides.  I stamped the sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie onto Whisper White CS in black ink, and cut it out with the Rounded Tab Punch.  After that was folded and added to the panel, I had to add some rhinestone to that one too.

For the flower, I punched out 5 pieces of DSP with my Scallop Circle punch, and made a vintage-type flower, like Mercy's HERE.  They are really fun and easy - just scrunch them all up, unwrap them, stick a brad through the middle, and arrange them as you like!  I added some fern branches underneath, made with a Martha Stewart punch and the DSP.

The heels were printed onto PTI White CS, coloured with Copics, cut out, and mounted on with Dimensionals.  I also had to add a rhinestone to the bow on each shoe - this card is so girly, I am choking on the estrogen! LOL

Club Anime Sketch: CAS7

Hi All,

I am so excited to post my first card as an official InStyle Stamps Design Team Member! I will be contributing for the 6 months from March through August!  I have fallen in love with their stamps, especially the anime ones!  Speaking of anime, they have a blog called Club Anime, which is devoted to that line of stamps. They often host sketch and colour challenges, and give away prizes!

Here is this week's Club Anime sketch:

I decided to go with a 5 1/4" square card for this one - I didn't feel like I would have enough room otherwise.  Since Easter is coming up, you know what theme you are going to see!

My card base is So Saffrom, followed by Whisper White, Basic Black, and Petals and Paisleys DSP.  I also added some photo corners with my Photo Corner punch in Black CS and DSP to the top right, and bottom left corners.  The 2 rectangle panels are also Whisper White, Basic Black, and DSP.  I added an "h" and an "e" to those panels - they are foam Thickers.  I hope you can guess what it stands for!  After all those layers were put together, I added some Tempting Turquoise Ribbon around the whole base.

Fo the main panel, I printed off Honey Bunny onto Neenah Solar White CS, and coloured her with Copics.  I actually printed her out a second time and cut her out, so I could use that as a mask.  I then cut the panel out with my Oval Nestabilities, and added the mask on top.  I sponged some Tempting Turquoise at the top for a cloudy sky, and some Old Olive at the bottom for grass.  I ended up stamping some random grass stamp at the bottom, and added some extra grass with my Old Olive marker.

Along the top and bottom are Robin's Nest Dew Drops, adhered with Mini Glue Dots.
