Santa Claus is coming...

So, I had a chance today to finish colouring Santa (it took me quite a long time) and put him onto a card. The Santa image and the chimney are both from Magnolia . I coloured them with my Copic markers...I used a lot of different colours, so I'm not even going to try to list them.






The colours of CS and papers I used are actually retired SU In Colours from 2 years ago! I mainly used Cranberry Crisp and True Thyme, and the DSP that was out then...I forget the name of it. And I used the Cranberry and Thyme Stitched ribbons (still trying to use them up!).

The Naughty or Nice sentiment is part rub-ons, part hand writing. The rub-ons are from Close To My Heart (thanks Sharon!), and I wrote the rest with my black SU marker.

The icicles are also covered in Crystal Effects for a raised, slippery feel.



I mounted Santa on foam circles, as well as raising up most of the other layers, too.

Lately, I have been decorating the inside of the card...I just feel like it adds a great deal more interest to it, and it's a nice finish.

So, I made a card recently that was VERY simple. I used Kraft CS from SU, DSP from DCWV (The Winter Mat Pack), my Long Rectangle Nestabilities, White Organdy Ribbon from SU (retired), and Holly Alphabet Stickers from Martha Stewart.

And Wham! The card is put together. I think it has a nice simplicity to it. Not too much goin' on...

The green DSP has some nice Xmas words on it and some glitter, but those are hard to see in the pictures.

Pink Poison Rocks!

I absolutely love the stamps being put out by Pink Poison these days! I especially love the Anyas. Here is the new Elf Anya, and I used the cute Frosty Days DSP from SU. I love those colours because they are not traditional...and I LOVE Tangerine Tango!

Here are the Copic markers I used to colour her. (Click on the picture if you need to see a larger version.) She was stamped onto Whisper White CS with Versafine Black ink, and embossed with Clear EP. I find this is a good way to keep the image from bleeding when you colour (the embossing seals the ink in), but it is only useful for images that are very simple and have large features.

After I was finished colouring her, I cut her out, so that I could mount her onto my DSP. The DSP Classic Oval and the Bashful Blue Scalloped Oval were both cut out with my Nestabilities (using my Cuttlebug).

It's hard to see, but the right-hand edge of the card base was punched with a cute Martha Stewart punch (it also embosses - you might be able to tell). CS is Close to Cocoa.

Ribbon used was Tangerine Tango Striped Grosgrain from SU.

Travelling Tilda

Hi All,

I decided to make a card where Tilda is travelling. Tilda is carrying a scroll here (not sure what I imagined it says), and I sponged her a ground and sky background.

The sentiment is from Verve, and the flower is from the SU set called Season of Joy. It is stamped with a glue ink pad, and covered in black sparkles (both from Martha Stewart). Then, I cut the flower out and adhered it with Mini Glue Dots.

Tilda's wings are covered in SU Chunky Glitter, and Tilda herself is coloured with Copic markers. The ribbon is Black Gingham from SU.

On the bottom, there are 3 clear Dew Drops, but they are hard to see.

On the inside, there is a pocket to put a gift card. CS colours used are Whisper White, Basic Black, and Pale Plum. The flower was stamped on Elegant Eggplant.

Frosty Magnolia

Wow, a busy week for me. I haven't had time to stamp or post anything. Anyway, I am still on my Magnolia + Copics kick, so here is another winter/holiday card with Tilda.

Sorry about the picture quality today. Probably had something to do with me taking them at night.

Well, I stamped Tilda onto Whisper White CS with my Palette Noir ink. I coloured her with my Copic markers. Isn't she cute? I cut her out, and set her aside (added her on later).

My card base is a 10 1/2" x 5 1/4" piece of Sage Shadow folded in half. From the front flap, I ripped the bottom edge off, and added a strip of Wintergreen DSP (retired SU), which was punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch. That was adhered to the back of the ripped flap, so that it lined up with the other flap of the card.

I then added a piece of Handsome Hunter to the front. For that, I used a ripped piece of paper as a mask, then sponged the bottom section with Whisper White Craft ink. That had to dry. But it kinda looks like a snowy hill!

The buttons at the top are from SU's Soft Subtles collection, tied with Linen thread, and adhered with mini glue dots.

For the letters, the "rosty" was stamped in Handsome Hunter ink, using the Whimsical Alphabet Lower (retired, but I will always hold onto that one!). The "F" is from a sticker pack by Close To My Heart. I covered the letter with Liquid Applique (white) and Dazzling Diamonds glitter, and let it dry. Then, I heat set it, and it became puffy, like snow! I thought it made a cute addition.

More Magnolias

Hi All,

Once again, I have been distracted by my Magnolias. There are some cute Tildas that have come out in the Holiday and Winter '08 Collections.

For the first card, I used one of my leftover Top Note die cuts, and stamped the icicle chimney in Palette Noir ink. I stamped Tilda on a separate scrap of white CS. I coloured the chimney with my Copic markers (E27 & E29, with the Blender "0"). I tried to colour all the bricks differently, so it wasn't too boring.

I added some blue (B00) to the icicles - that helps when you are colouring something that's white. It makes it look a little more crisp. Then, the icicles were covered in Crystal Effects, for a raised, glossy feel.

Whenever I am trying to choose colours for Tilda, I always pick my Designer Paper first. I knew I wanted to use the Bella Rose DSP, so I went with these colours for her (in Copic markers): YG03 (for the braid down her sweater), and R20 & R29 for her sweater and her leggings. Her skin is done with E000, E50 & E51, and her cheeks have YR00 on them. I also added some Shimmerz onto her leggings for a tiny bit of sparkle (you can't see it in the photo though).

I used a Martha Stewart edge punch for the white "lacey" part at the bottom. The ribbon is one from the new pack in the Holiday mini catalogue from SU. It happened to match perfectly! The flowers are as follows: the top 3 are from Close To My Heart, and they are sponged with Pink Pirouette, Ridinghood Red, and Kiwi Kiss. The flower on the bottom is Ridinghood Red CS, punched out with the 5-Petal flower punch. They are put together with a Close To My Heart Bigger Brad in white.

The next card is also a holiday one. I chose the Frosty Day DSP (also from the Holiday mini) for my colour scheme. This is one of my all-time favourite Christmas Designer Paper packs - it might have something to do with the fact that I LOVE the colour Tangerine Tango. This time, I made Tilda a blonde.

For her outfit, the marker colours were: E27, E29, R02 & R08 for her sweater. For her leggings, I used B21 & B28.

For the ornament, I used E27, E29, B21, B28, R08, YG03 & Y11. I kind of regret making it look so colourful...it looks kind of like a Yin-Yang sign. Oh well.

The ribbon is the Striped Tangerine Tango Grosgrain ribbon.

The flower is all SU this time. The bottom flower is Tangerine Tango CS punched with the 5-Petal Flower Punch. The next layer is a white snowflake from the Felt Flurries pack in the Holiday mini catalogue (so cute!), and the top flower is from the Flower Fusion 2 Accents & Elements pack from SU. They are put together with a rhinestone brad from the Pretties kit.

My Anyas

I have been playing with my stamps from Pink Poison. This first one is called Nurse Anya. I coloured all of my Anyas with my Copic Markers. For the nurse, I used Basic Gray, Basic Black, and Whisper White CS. The red paper is the Real Red Patterns DSP from the Level 1 Hostess paper pack from SU.


I added lots of dots with my Basic Black marker and white gel pen. The ribbon is Black Gingham.


The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations and punched out with the Large Oval punch.

The next one is Angel Anya. I used Pale Plum, Almost Amethyst, and Certainly Celery CS. Her cloud is made out of the ew Christmas glitter pack from Martha Stewart (it looks like snow). The background stamps are from Close To My Heart, stamped in Certainly Celery ink. I painted Shimmerz on her wings and her bow to add some sparkle (you can't really see it in this pic).





The purple velvet ribbon is a miscellaneous pack I found at a local scrap store.

The last one is Princess Anya. I used the sentiment from the set called Friend to Friend and punched it out with the Word Window Punch. The DSP is called All Dressed Up. It is a pack I got on sale from Scrappin' Great Deals (see "Where I shop online" on the righthand toolbar for the link). It is VERY glam. It has sparkles all over it.

Last 2 October projects

Here are the last 2 projects from my October Stamp Camp. I realized, as I was putting everything together, that I "borrowed" quite a few ideas this time. Not a very creative month for me. Oh well, the projects were popular anyway!




The first card was inpired by THIS CARD on Patty's blog. I loved her idea of stamping the grass from the Inspired By Nature set, and making it into cattails by punching out brown CS with the Horizontal Slot Punch...brilliant!


I also LOVE Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip together. Kiwi Kiss was thrown in for good measure.




I made the charm by stamping the Thank You stamp from the Curly Label set in Staz-On onto shrink plastic, punching it out with the Curly Label Punch, and heating it with my Heat Tool. It shrinks down to a cute bite-sized charm to match the project!



The Vanilla piece was cut out with the new Top Note die from Sizzix (sold by Stampin' Up!). And that Satin ribbon in Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla is to-die-for! The butterfly is from the Priceless set.








The last project is a cute little treat holder. This is called the Diaper Fold, and I got the idea from Dawn's post HERE. All you need is 1 square sheet of DSP (I used 12 x 12, but I think Dawn uses 8 x 8), and it takes NO adhesive (except if you would like to decorate the outside).

For mine,I used a sheet of Holiday Treasures DSP, with the Deer Friends hostess set, as well as Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, and 1 1/4" Circle punches.

Pocket Silhouettes, Urban Garden

Hi All,

Here is another card I will be doing at my October Stamp Camp. I try to use punches wherever possible, because it's less work for me, in terms of prep.

I got this sketch from Chat's Blog, but I changed the stampe set and the colours. I used the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set, as well as the Urban Garden DSP.

The colours used are Basic Gray, Kiwi Kiss, and Baja Breeze. I also used the new Scallop Edge and Scallop Square punches. I added some decorative dots to the scalloped edge with my White Gel Pen.

Also, the ribbon is the new Baja Breeze Double Stitched ribbon (extra wide). I tried to tack the ends down with some mini glue dots, so they aren't moving around everywhere.

The 3 main panels are popped out on foam squares.

Kristina Werner's Colour Challenge #27

Hi All,

I decided to participte in Kristin Werner's colour challenge. It was to use Reds and/or Pinks, and the rest is up to you!

I decided to use Purely Pomegranate for the base, and then a layer of white. The top panels are from the Berry Bliss DSP.

I used some self-adhesive chipboard letters, decorated with Classic Ink (using sponge daubers).

The heart charm is from the Always stamp set. It was stamped in Timber Brown Staz-On ink onto shrink plastic and cut out, and then heated with the heat gun (down to bite size). It was tied to the pink ribbon with linen thread.

I wish I had a better camera, but you gotta work with what you got, I guess.

Snowman Card

Hi All,

Here is another card I CASE'd from DAWN. She has got some great ideas! I used the same colours, but I switched out one of the stamp sets. My card uses the A Tree For All Seasons set for the main snowman square (punched with the 1 3/8" Square Punch), and the Season of Joy set for the sentiment and the background.

My main image is usually stamped on a neutral colour, so when I saw Dawn's card using Bashful Blue as the main panel, I had to try it. The tree image is coloured with markers and White Gel Pen. The background is stamped in black and also highlighted with White Gel Pen.

Colours are: Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Sage Shadow, Purely Pomegranate (supposed to be Rose Red, but I ran out).

Hallowe'en Bat CASE

Hi All,

Here is a sample of another card we'll be doing at my October Stamp Camp. I CASE'd it from Dawn's card HERE. I used the stamp set Batty For You, and I left out the sentiment, but I thought it was too cute to pass up!

I used Tangerine Tango for the base, but I should have used Pumpkin Pie, so I'll straighten that out before the class.

I inked the bat up with my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker, to avoid stamping the phrase that comes around the outside.

The white circle was punched with my 1" Circle Punch, the Tangerine circle was done with my 1 1/4" Circle Punch, and the Basic Gray circle (on the inside) was done with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.

After I Punched the 1 3/8" circle out of Basic Gray, I used that hole to punch out the Scallop Circle (so that the middle is missing). It looks great as a border.

The DSP is from the Ghostly Greetings pack of papers (sooo cute!).

Baby Shower Card, but no gender?

Hi All,

Well, I have a baby shower to attend on Sunday, and my friend does not know the gender, so what was a girl to do about a baby card?

Well, I decided to put a boy AND a girl on the front...and we will all wait for it to be decided.

I used more Magnolia stamps for this, as well as one of the Hostess Sets from Stampin' Up!. I used the retired Wintergreen DSP as the colour theme, and used my Copic markers to colour them in. I also used a Chipboard sticker (got it from Michael's), and coloured it with Classic ink and my sponge daubers.

My SU cardstock was Soft Sky (retired In Color), Basic Gray, and Whisper White.

Inspired By Nature Sunset

Hi All,

Today, I am showing my first card for my October Stamp Camp. I can't seem to find where I got the idea, but modified it slightly. It uses the new Top Note die and the Inspired by Nature stamp set.

I first covered White CS in More Mustard ink, then punched out a 1 1/4" Circle, and adhered it. Then I sponged all around with Bravo Burgundy and a little bit of Chocolate Chip. It is stamped in Close to Cocoa ink..I love this stamp set!

I outlined some parts of a flower with a Close to Cocoa marker just for some extra emphasis. All in all, it's pretty simple.

The sentiment is from the Hostess set Best Yet, stamped in black.
