Garage Sale - Retired Sets at a Discount!

Attention to all of my Brampton customers!!!

Was there something that you wanted to get, but you didn't have the time or thought it was a little too expensive? Or, was there a hostess set that you didn't get to earn? Here's your chance:

In the following photos are the materials that I am currently selling (as of July 1). I only have 1 of each item, and I will take reservations on a first come, first served basis. Everything here is retired, or long gone and not available for purchase (with the exception of Cold Play). These will have to be paid for through cash or cheque, as I am having trouble with credit card processing at the moment. Please e-mail me to hold on to any of these items, and I'll let you know if they are still available. The ones that have not sold, I will bring to my next workshop as a cash & carry, and I will sell in some online auctions. Oh, pick up only...no shipping.

Happy browsing!

FYI: Important date coming...

Hey everyone,

I am just letting you know that tomorrow (Sunday), the new catalogue orders can officially start! I have passed on a copy to many of my customers, but I have to place another order. So, for those of you waiting for one, I will have more coming. In the meantime, starting tomorrow you will be able to view the catalogue online (I will post the link for that when it becomes available).
Also, I will selling some of my stamp sets that have been retired, or that I don't use often enough. Some are brand spanking new, and some are used. Watch for the e-mail, and I'll let you know what will be available.

Happy stamping!

New Catty Swaps continued

So we meet again....

So, I got my goodie bag of swap cards in the mail today. I found some particularly interesting creations with new products, and some with old favourites. Here we go......

This was done by Susan Ilk using the brand new Three For You Punch box (on my list) as well as the new Wild Wasabi colour.

This card was done by Cheryl Fisher using In The Spotlight, which is a Level 2 hostess set from the upcoming catty. It is well-suited to go with many of the circle punches.

This card was done by Jeannie Kilgour using a couple of old favourites (Looks Like Spring and Wonderful Words). Notice the adorable brand new Rhinestone brads (it's about time). They are sold in two colour packs: Fire (pink, orange, red & yellow), and Ice (blue, green, purple, and teal). They are also sold in round or square shape. They are a great addition.

This card was done by Deanna Tam using the new Baroque Motifs stamp set.

This card was done by Sarah Pendergrast using the new Vases in Vogue stamp set. This one is a level 3 hostess set from the new catty, and one that I personally think is adorable. She has also used the new Prints designer paper in Soft Sky (a new In Color), and the round tab punch that has been carried over from the Spring Mini 2007 Catalogue.

This card was done by Sarah Pendergrast once again using the new Baroque Motifs set. This seems to be a very popular one amongst the demonstators...we'll see how the customers like it. It kind of reminds me of Carte Postale from the Winter Mini 2007 Catalogue (which, by the way, has been carried over into the new catty). Great use of Vellum here as well as using the copper emboss powder for the image on top.

This card was made by Joyce Taylor. Using the ever popular Baroque Motifs set. Great exhibition of the new Purely Pomegranate colour, as well as that brand new square rhinestone brad I mentioned. It's hard to see, but in the top left corner, she layered 2 images, and it was very effective.

This card was made by Diane Cooper. She used the new Garden Silhouettes stamp set, which is a level 2 hostess set from the new catty. She used new colours: Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, River Rock. And she also used the new Prints Designer paper in Rose Red. The sentiment is from Baroque Motifs. It's hard to see, but I also loved that she cut out the 2 main flowers, embossed them with clear emboss powder, and layered them on top of the flowers that she previously stamped.

Lastly, this one was made by Deanna Tam. She used the stamp set Double-Line Doodles (including the paisley-type background!). Elegant Eggplant and Tempting Turquoise make a great colour combo, and the faux stitching is the perfect touch.

Pick A Petal Card

I got my Pick A Petal Stamp Set in the mail and had to play with it. Check out the card below. This stamp set was shown in the Fall/Winter 2007 Preview brochure that was sent to everyone. However, in print it was missing one of the petals (subsequently the petal I've used in my card). It is a really cute set, and goes perfectly with the new chipboard they have released (if you're into chipboard, which I am). I've also used the new line of designer paper released with the Catty (catalogue). They have got a ton of designs in each package of paper, and you can pick the colour you want...they have made the paper in 16 colours that match the cardstock and inks they already have.

Recipe:
SS - Pick A Petal, sentiment from Heartfelt Thanks
CS - Whisper White, So Saffron, Basic Black, Prints Deisigner Paper in Rose Red, Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, and Certainly Celery.
Ink - Basic Black, Whisper White for the middle, and Versamark
Other - Winter White Emboss Powder, Heat Tool

New Catalogue Swaps

So, I was entered into swaps with a couple of groups of demonstrators. Here are the 2 cards that I made. The criteria were: you cannot use anything retiring. That means no retiring stamp sets, and no retiring colours (In Color '07). I will be posting all the cards I have received from other demonstrators as well. Wait til you see 'em!

Recipe:

Stamp Sets (SS) - Vases in Vogue, Floral Background
Card Stock (CS) - Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, Whisper White
Ink - Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, Purely Pomegranate
Other - Brads Bold Brights, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, White Gel Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals
Technique: Faux Stitching (no, I did not sew the card).

Recipe:
SS - Garden Silhouettes
CS - Almost Amethyst, Blue Bayou, Confetti White, Basic Black
Ink - Basic Black, Almost Amethyst, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky
Other - Ticket Corner Punch, Sponges, Silver Brads, 1/16" Circle Punch (for brads), Stampin' Dimensionals
Technique: Rock N' Roll (to get the flower to be Soft Sky in the middle, and Blue Bayou around the edges). See the link below for directions on this technique on Stampin' Up!'s website.

Square Step Punch Frame Tutorial

Hello all,
So, for those of you that were lucky enough to purchase the Square Steps Corner Punch from Stampin' Up! before it retired, congratulations. It's one of my favourites! Here is a tutorial I found from Cambria on yet another way to use this punch once the corner guard has been removed. I had my customers make these at my workshop for the retiring stamp sets in June, and it was very popular. See Cambria's tutorial at http://cambriaturnbow.blogspot.com/2007/05/square-steps-corner-punch-frame.html for step-by-step directions (as I have not made my own tutorial so far).

Here is my version:
