2 New Stamp Camp cards

Hello again!

So, My next 2 cards are CASE'd from a couple that I saw when I was recently surfing. I decided that they were great layouts & colour schemes to use at my July Stamp Camp, and I had both of the stamp sets (and they are both retiring this year).

The first card uses the set Be Happy, and the Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper (DSP). The paper is no longer available, because it was in the mini catty that expired on June 30. But I still need to use up the paper, so there it was. The Gingham Ribbon is no longer available either, but needed to use it up, so I could move on.

The blue piece along the side is stamped with the swirls from the Itty Bitty Backgrounds set, which is also retiring.

This card was CASE'd from Mary Brown's original, but I couldn't find the link for that. The original card was square, and much larger, so I cut a couple things down to make it a standard size. The large green panel has been stamped with the So Swirly Jumbo Wheel (I use that for everything). I don't know yet if that wheel is reitiring, as they haven't released the accessories list.

5-Petal Flower

So, I found a blog that shows you how to make this cool flower if you have a 5-Petal Flower Punch from Stampin' Up!

I'm back!

OK, so I've been away for a really long time. Sorry about that. Here is my True Friend Card. I really like this stamp set for some reason. I've just seen soooo many great things done with it. For all the flowers in the background, I used markers. It was a little time-consuming, but worth it! I saw an original of this card somewhere, but I can't remember where.

The corner punch is from SU (retired), but I can't remember the name. I did faux stitching with my White Gel Pen. I wish I had a Vanilla-coloured one to match the cardstock, but oh well.
I have another card to post later, but I am off to work...

Upcoming stamp camp

Hi everyone!
I am posting a couple of samples of projects we will be doing at my workshop this weekend. I did a 6" x 6" scrapbook page, and a Photo Wallet.



This one uses the Afternoon Tea Designer Series Papers and the Close to Cocoa Prints DP. I paper pierced the outside of the Soft Sky Textured CS. I used the Photo Corner Punch on the Afternoon Tea DP for the top left.
The Sentiment is from the Loonies for Littles promo, and the medallion is from True Friend, with a Build-A-Brad in the middle.




For the photo wallet, I tried not to make the colours too girly, since the stamp set is more on the feminine side.

I used the stamp set Always (one of my fav's).
The main wallet is Blue Bayou Textured CS, and on the inside (see other pic), I used Gable Green and Sahara Sand CS.

For the flowers on the band, I stamped 3 of them in Gable Green Classic Ink, cut them out, and in the middle of each flower, I glued on clusters of the green micro beads from the Bead Duos in the catty. Those little things get EVERYWHERE.



When you open the little flaps, that's where you would find the 3 pictures mounted.

My First Tilda

Hello All,

Well, I just ordered a couple of stamps from Magnolia, and I got them in the mail, so I had to ink one up. Here, Tilda is in a field.

For the background, it is Sanded from SU, with sponging around the edges. I used the corner rounder punch to scallop the bottom. The stamp on the right is from Close to My Heart (faux ribbon stamp).

For the ovals, I used my Nestabilities with my Cuttlebug and layered a few of them.

I watercoloured Tilda with my Aqua Painter and ink pad lids, and then popped her out on Dimensionals (you can't tell in the picture). For her wings, I used a 2-way glue pen and white Fun Flock, so they're fuzzy. Love that stuff...too bad SU doesn't sell it.

TLC162 Paper Tole Crab

Hi All,

I have done another Challenge over at SCS.

TLC162: Paper Tole. This is where you would stamp one main image, and then stamp the same image one or two more times on a different sheet. Then cut them out, and layer them on top of the main image to get a pop-out 3-D effect.

Catch: NO FLOWERS....what?

When I went up to my stamping room to find a set with no flowers to layer, I almost came up short. As you can see, I have layered the crab's claws.

For the circles, I used my Nestabilities with my Cuttlebug. I put little black dots over 3 of the layers on the card for more interest.

White Plus only 1 colour...Groovy Guava of course!

So, I have done another challenge from over at SCS. It is LSC162 (Limited Supplies Challenge #162). The challenge was to use any tools, embellishments, layers, etc that you wanted...but, you can only use white + one other colour. AND, you weren't allowed to do monochromatic cards either (that's where you have lots of different shades of one colour)...nope, just white + 1. I chose Groovy Guava because I LOVE it, and because I had a pack of Groovy Guava Prints Designer Paper I wanted to use.

I hope it's not considered cheating if I coloured in the image with a couple of other colours...not too sure.

On the left half of the card, I used my Cuttlebug with the Distressed embossing folder. On the right hand, I used the DP, and a white panel with the definition from Bloomin' Beautiful stamped all over it. I did a lot of sponging and ink swiping across the panels to make it look distressed.

I raised a couple of the flowers up on pop dots, and covered them with Crystal Effects to get a bit of 3-D shine. I also outlined the main image with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to get more definition and "Pop".

5 Samples

I have made 3 card front samples, one 6" x 6" Brag Book page, and one 12" x 12" scrapbook page. I will be submitting these for a contest shortly. They won't be reurned to me, so I had to take some pictures.

Here is the scrapbook page I did of my brother's wedding in Mexico in 2006. This page uses the new Sticky Cuts letters with the new Cosmo Glitter.

For this card, I used my So Swirly Jumbo Wheel with White Craft ink, and then embossed it in white for the background. The 3 flowers were stamped first in Taken With Teal ink on Whisper White Cardstock and cut out. Then, the flower's top layer was stamped on vellum with Craft ink 3 times and embossed in white. The vellum flowers were then layered on the cardstock layers and secured with new Rhinstone brads.

For this card, I stamped the flower from Doodle This on the new Berry Bliss DP and cut it out. I also stamped the flower in Whisper White Craft on vellum and embossed it with white again. I layered these 2 flowers on top of eachother. To secure them, I used the new Build-A-Brad in Antique Brass - I used my 1/2" Circle Punch with the Berry Bliss paper. There is also faux stitching on the brown piece.

For this card, I used my Coluzzle to make the different layers, and I maskd off an oval to sponge the Groovy Guava in the middle. Then I stamped the vines from Pretty Amazing in Chocolate Chip (with the oval mask still on). The flower from the Pretties Kit was dyed with my Aqua Painter and the ink from the lid of my Groovy Guava pad. I stamped the hummingbird in Groovy Guava on Whisper White, and watercoloured it with my Aqua Painter and my Groovy Guava and Tempting Turquoise ink pad lids. Then, I covered the bird with my 2-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

2 More Challenges!

Wow, I'm on roll! I have almost done a whole set of chalenges for 1 week! The first post is from SCS's Limited Supply Challenge.
This week, it was back to Backgrounds. With these Limited Supply challenges, you are given guidelines as to what you can or can't use to make your project.
This week:
- 1 or 2 background stamps, 1 main image set, 1 optional sentiment (NO Cuttlebugs or Designer Papers)...I chose Tres Chic & Sanded as my BGs, and Fabulous Flowers as my main image and sentiment set.
- 2 colours and 1 neutral...I chose Taken with Teal, Apricot Appeal, and Very Vanilla
- Only quick tools (again, no Cuttlebug)...I used my Crop-A-Dile
- Simple Embellishments...I used a few Brads




For the sentiment, I inked up "Dare to be Fabulous" in Apricot Appeal, then I went around the edges with my Teal Marker, then stamped. That's where the 2 colours come from.
For the flower, I stamped the image 3 seperate times on CS, and cut out 3 different layers. I sponged each layer with Teal ink, then put them together and added 3 brads to the centre.

For the second project, it is the Technique Challenge. Every week, SCS gives you a technique to incorporate into your project (or the technique IS your project in this case). These are called Pixie Pouches. The name came around because people fill them with Pixie Sticks (sticks of sugar), but you can fill them with anything that will fit.

Here's how to make it (SO simple):
- Take a piece of cardstock or Designer Paper that is 7" x 7"
- Fold it in half, so the dimensions are 7" x 3.5"
- Unfold it and lay it flat
- Along that fold line, cut from the top, down to the 1.5" mark (there should now be a short vertical cut in the middle of the sheet, at the top)
- This will make your front flap
- Fold this piece down
- I secured the 2 open sides with red roll Sticky Strip
- Decorate, and you're done!

CC150 and SC160 Challenges

So I have participated in 2 challenges on SCS - the colour challenge and the sketch challenge for this week. I never have enough time to make 2 seperate cards, so I always combine them. It usually has an interesting result. I like these challenges because they push me out of my boundaries.


For instance, I never would have put these colours together: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, and Real Red. But ta da...it doesn't look half bad!

It was a very nice sketch (layout) also.

For the background, I used the Pretty Petals BG stamp. I stamped it first with Blue Bayou ink, and let it dry. Then, I stamped with Versamark and embossed with White emboss powder.

I stamped the hummingbird with Blue Bayou ink, and watercoloured it with my Aqua Painter.

I used my mat pack and Crop-A-Dile to space out the Jumbo Eyelets. And the small and large oval punches for the embellishment on the Inspire piece.

Pretty Amazing Challenges

Well, I have received my main order from the new 2008 Catalogue, and I am soooo excited!



I have combined 2 of the challenges from SCS for this card. The first challenge was the sketch challenge (SC159), which is the VERY general layout for the card. So that is where the idea for the card base and the other 2 panels came from.

The second challenge was the colour challenge (CC148). This specified the colours to use were Wild Wasabi, Barely Banana, and Blue Bayou.

I was itching to ink up my new rubber (the Pretty Amazing set).

For the Hummingbird, I stamped it in Black on Whisper White CS, then watercoloured it with my Aqua Painter and my Barely Banana and Blue Bayou ink lids. After that was dry, I covered the bird in 2-way Glue Pen, and then in Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

For the green flower, I stamped it in Wild Wasabi Ink on Wild Wasabi CS and cut it out. Then, I stamped it again on Whisper White CS in Wild Wasabi ink, and only cut out the inner flower. The smaller flower was then layered on the larger flower to crete dimension. The rest is pretty self explanatory.
