This is my version of Beate's Card Sketch that she posted on October 5th. I wish I had done things a little bit bigger (the circles and the image), but all in all, it turned out fine. Contents of the Kit from the Holiday Glitz Promotion

My Acetate Christmas Card

Well Hello...



I have tried my hand at an acetate card (you know, the overhead transparencies teachers use?).

With acetate, you have to use Staz-On Ink if you are going to stamp on that actual material, you cannot use a regular ink. And it is very slippery, so try to be careful, or the image will smear. Also, for the adhesive, I used Mini Glue Dots because they are strong, and easy to hide. This was a lovely sample that I saw somewhere (can't remember where), and this is my attempt.

SS: Glad Tidings, Priceless (swirls)
CS: Shimmery White, Brushed Silver, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou
Ink: Staz-On White, Soft Sky
Other: Silver Cord (around the fold), Sponges, Mini Glue Dots

Icicles everywhere!

Hello All,

Here I have one of my samples from my "Christmas in September" Stamp Camp back in the day. It is difficult to see, but I have used Crystal Effects to make a stream of icicles across the top. Also, it is a 5" x 5" square card (rare for me, as it is not the most efficient use of cardstock)!

Princess

New Baby Boy Arrival

I made this Baby Boy card for a new arrival at work. I love the Bundle of Joy stamp set! I also like the Bundle of Love set (which I don't have). Is that too much of a good thing? Also, my newest discovery is that Chocolate Chip goes with everything, and it has become a staple in my paper crafting wardrobe.

Get Well Bee Card

I have been commissioned to make some Get Well cards recently. Usually, this is not my forte, and I have to admit, I have an overwhelming number of feminie stamp sets. So, when it came to making a card that was not plastered with flowers, etc, I found it difficult. I have made this simple card with the Farm Fever set, and NO pink and purple. Hope it works.

Doodle Flower and Doodle Paper

So here, we have lots of new things going on. First, I have used the Doodle This stamp set, which was actually in the Spring Mini Catalogue, but miraculously made its way to the main book. Also, the new Darling Doodles Designer papers are SOOOOO cute! Also, several of the new In Colors are used as well (and they are currently my favourite colours).

Lovely As A Tree Reflection

Hi again,

Two posts in one day??? Anyway, I just made this card with a reflection of the tree in the water. It is a TRUE reflection, not just turning the stamp around and re-stamping upside down. I stamped the image on acetate first, and then placed that ink-down on my white cardstock, and transferred the image (that's the secret). Then, I re-inked the same stamp, and just stamped it directly onto the cardstock on top of the reflection I just made. Then, I coloured everything in. I saw this technique online, and I had to know how to do it. (Her online name is scrappinkeri42)

Holiday Mini Collection 2007 Update

Oh my goodness,
I can't believe it's that time of year again. Stampin' Up! has given us demonstrators a sneek peek at the Holiday Mini Catalogue, which will be valid for the months of September, October, and November 2007.
They have some absolutely adorable stuff coming out, a few are my personal favourites. As demonstrators, we are able to pre-order the products a month in advance for ourselves to get familiar with. I will absolutely be making an order next month in order to showcase the new products coming out. You can be sure I will be using the stuff at my Christmas card stamp camp in September. They have also got some really nice Thanksgiving stuff on its way.

We were also advised today that Sell-A-Bration 2008 (where you spend a certain amount of money on product and earn free stamp sets) will be in February and March (not Januray and February). They have decided this because they are releasing semi-annual catalogues now, one in July and one in January, which means they won't need a promotion in January.

This was just an update for all my customers and on-lookers!

Acetate Card

Hey All,

So, I'm sure all of you know what acetate is. Ya know, overhead transparencies? Those clear plastic pages that teachers used on the overhead machine to project lessons onto a screen?
